Chapter Twenty-One
ð Lies Of Omission ð
Scott took a puff of his inhaler and went to talk out of the locker room but stopped when he saw Liam packing a duffel bag of food. "Hey... What are you doing?" Scott asked making Liam look at him and quickly close the bag, "Nothing." Liam said and Scott nodded slightly.
"Hey, Liam... just remember it's a full moon tomorrow. And you're probably already starting to feel it." Scott said and Liam nodded, "I know." He said. "It's a supermoon... Which means it's gonna be closer to the earth-" Scott said and Liam cut him off slightly, "Yeah, I-I know what it means." He said and Scott nodded.
"Okay. Well, just remember... I'm here for you." Scott said and Liam got an annoyed look before slamming his locker door shut. "You gonna chain me to the tree again?" Liam asked making Scott look at him shocked, "All I meant was... it might be a good idea if we stick together. So we can protect each other." Scott said and Liam shook his head.
"It's been five days since my sister died... We can't protect anyone." Liam said before grabbing his bag and walking away.

"One of the more common biological weapons, anthrax, was used by Germany in World War I, and in human experimentation by the Japanese during World War II." Natalie explained as she wrote on the chalk board while Malia glanced around for a moment. She noticed a girl who sat in front if her, chewing on her finger nail was reading about the supermoon.
"Beth? Please close your computer. I won't ask again." Natalie said making the girl close her laptop. There was a small cracking sound making the Beth's eyes widen before she pulled her hand away from her mouth. The tip of her finger had sighed black blood and mercury on it as she spit out her entire finger nail.
Beth glanced around slightly before noticing Malia and quickly grabbed her stuff and walked out of the class room. "Beth. Beth!" Natalie said as Malia got up mad started to follow Beth but Natalie stopped her. "Malia, if you have to use the restroom, it's one at a time. And, if you're planning on leaving class, I'd consider your recent drop in grades." Natalie said and Malia shook her head, "She needs help." She said.
"Not from you." Natalie said and Malia squinted at her slightly, "You know what's going on. Don't you?" Malia asked and Natalie took her glasses off. "I know that I'd like to see you get through senior year with passing grades." Natalie said, "You know more than that." Malia said as she flashed her vibrant blue eyes.
"I think you need to focus more on your school work- all of you." Natalie said and Malia just walked past her, out into the hall to see Beth opening her locker and putting her stuff up. "Beth? Are you okay?" Malia asked as she walked over to Beth, "Why are you talking to me? You don't know anything about me. You don't know anything about my condition." Beth said and Malia took a step forward.
"What? What do you mean?" Malia asked and Beth took a deep breath, "My condition... my condition... my condition..." She repeated before closing the locker door and starting to walk away but Malia grabbed her arm. "Hey, you don't want to be alone-" Malia said but Beth cut her off by hitting her across the face making fly back into the lockers.
"Are you kidding me?" Malia mumbled as Beth ran off, "Beth!" Malia yelled before running after her. Malia ran around the corner before stopping when she saw Beth standing outside the double door with a Dread Doctors hands around her shoulders and covering her mouth. Beth look at her with glossy eyes before the Dread Doctor quickly snapped her neck before walking away.
Malia's eyes widen as she quickly ran over, opening the door to see Beth's body laying here. Black blood and mercury dripping from her mouth. Malia stared at Beth's body as her eyes glossed over while her mind flashed back to Avalon for a moment before she took a deep breath.
A little while later, Malia walked through the crowded halls with a distant look on her face. "Malia? Hey. Hey, what happened?" Stiles asked as he stopped her making her look at him, "I hate this. I hate losing like this. I'm not like Scott- I can't deal with another body. Another failure. No after Avalon." Malia said before walking past him.

A Dread Doctor tossed Liam into the wall of the Sinema before turning to Hayden. "Run, Hayden! Run!" Liam said and the Dread Doctors started to walk toward Hayden making her step back until their was a loud roar. They all looked over to see a transformed Scott snarling at them them before running forward, swiping at the Dread Doctor that was in front of Hayden
Hayden ran off to side and Scott glanced at her before turning to the Dread Doctors and Liam got up. Liam ran forward, grabbing one of the Dread Doctors hand before punching it's chest. The punched did little to nothing against the Dread Doctor before it grabbed him by his jacket and tossing him to the ground.
Scott ran forward, jumping up at the other Dread Doctor before punching it making instep back slightly. He punched it's chest but just like the other one, the punching barely affected it. The Dread Doctor grabbed Scott's arm before flipping him onto the ground making him groan.
Both Dread Doctors turned to Hayden making Liam quickly get back up. He turned to the Dread Doctor he was fighting before kicking its chest making it step back. He swung his arm at it but it blocked his arm before slamming him into a metal pole. After a moment, Liam turned back to the Dread Doctor but the Dread Doctor grabbed him by his jacket before slamming him into the ground.
The other Dread Doctor walked up to Scott who was still on the ground before leaning down to punch him but he rolled out of the way. The Dread Doctor went to slam its hand down again but Scott grabbed its hand. He struggled against it as the tips of the Dread Doctor's fingers glowed blue before Scott kicked his foot up, pushing the Dread Doctor away.
Scott quickly got up and swiped at the Dread Doctor blocked his arm before head butting him them smelling him into one of the metal poles. The Dread Doctor turned to Hayden and started to walk towards her Scott ran forward, turning the Dread Doctor around before kicking it. Scott went to kick it again but the Dread Doctor just grabbed his foot before flipping him making him slam onto the ground with a groan.
Theo suddenly ran into the club and pulled Liam up, "Get Hayden out of here. Go!" Theo said before running at the Dread Doctor. "Hayden? Hayden! Hayden!" Liam called out before running past a beaded curtain.
There was Hayden with a Dread Doctor over her, sticking a needle into her neck making her scream. Her eyes got a sliver film over them as the Dread Doctor pulled the needle out making her fall to her knees and Liam ran forward and grabbed her.
A second later Scott and Theo ran in, "I'm okay. Really, I think I'm okay." Hayden said looking at Liam with a smile and he walked up to Scott and Theo, "I saw the needle go in, and her eyes just filled up with mercury. They turned completely silver. It's the same thing happened to Avalon." Liam said.
"She looks okay. Maybe she'll heal." Theo said, "Or maybe she won't." Scott said making them look at him slightly shocked, he was normally more optimistic then this. "What if something's happening to her on the inside? Like it did with my sister." Liam asked and Scott looked over at Hayden for a moment. "Get them to the animal clinic. I'll meet you there." Scott said before walking away.
A few minutes later, Theo, Liam and Hayden were all in Theo's truck on the way to the animal clinic. "Keep her awake. I don't think it's a good idea for her to fall asleep." Theo said, glancing at Liam and Hayden through the rearview mirror.
"Hayden? Hayden, you gotta stay awake." Liam said and Hayden shook her head slightly, "I'm so tired..." She said weakly. "Yeah, I know, but you can't go to sleep. How do we help her?" Liam asked and Theo shook his head slightly, "I don't know. When it's wolfsbane poisoning, you burn it out... But I don't know anything about mercury- especially a kind that's probably been altered by them." Theo said.
"Is she going to heal?"
"The problem is, she's not really like us Liam. None of them. They're more like... cheap knock-offs. She might not be as strong as we are, or heal like we do. She's not a real Werewolf." Theo said making an idea pop into Liam's head, "What if we turn her into one?" He asked. "Nice idea... Except you and I can't do that." Theo said.
"But Scott can." Liam said and Theo looked at him through the rearview mirror.

Scott got off his bike outside the animal clinic when Stiles pulled up and got out of the jeep and into the rain. "Hey, sorry... I had trouble starting the Jeep again- that thing's barely hanging on. I couldn't get in touch with Malia or Lydia..." Stiles said and Scott didn't say anything as he just stared at him.
"Scott?" Stiles asked and Scott pulled out a wrench with blood on it making Stiles look at him shocked, "Where did you get that?" Stiles asked. "This is yours?" Scott asked and Stiles glanced away for a moment before grabbing it. "Why didn't you tell me?" Scott asked and Stiles shook his head slightly, "I was going to..." He said.
"Why didn't you tell me when it happened?" Scott asked and Stiles looked up at him, "I couldn't." He said and Scott raised his eyebrows slightly. "You killed him? You killed Donovan?" Scott asked and Stiles squinted slightly, "Well, he was going to kill my dad. Huh? Was I supposed to just let him?" He asked.
"You weren't supposed to do this. None of us are." Scott said and Stiles looked at him incredulously, "You think I had a choice?" He asked. "There's always a choice." Scott said and Stiles shook his head, "Yeah, well, I can't do what you can, Scott. I know you wouldn't have done it. You probably would have just figured something out, right?" Stiles asked and Scott nodded slightly.
"I'd try."
"Yeah, because you're Scott McCall! You're the True Alpha! Guess what? All of us can't be True Alphas! Some of us have to make mistakes. Some of us have to get our hands a little bloody sometimes. Some of us are human!" Stiles yelled and Scott raised his eyebrows, "So you had to kill him?" Scott asked.
"Scott, he was going to kill my dad." Stiles said and Scott shook his head, "But the way that it happened... There's a point when it's... It's not self-defense anymore!" Scott said and Stiles furrowed his brows. "What are you even talking about? I didn't have a choice, Scott!" Stiles said before staring at Scott and shaking his head slightly, "You don't even believe me, do you?" He asked.
"I want to." Scott said and Stiles nodded, "Okay. All right, so... So, believe me, then. Scott, say you believe me. Say it. Say you believe me." Stiles said and Scott shook his head slightly. "Stiles, we can't kill people that we're trying to save." Scott said and Stiles sighed, "Say you believe me." Stiles said, taking a step forward making Scott step back, looking down at the wrench in Stiles' hand with wide eyes.
Stiles glanced down at the wrench before looking back up at Scott in shock. "We can't kill people. Do you believe that?" Scott asked and Stiles stared at him for a moment before shaking his head slightly. "Well, what do I do about this? What do you want me to do? Okay, just be... Scott, just tell me how to fix this, all right? Please, just tell me- what do you want me to do?" Stiles asked and Scott shook his head.
"Don't worry about Malia or Lydia. We'll find them. Maybe... Maybe you should talk to your dad." He said before walking away making Stiles watch him with glossy eyes.
Scott walked into the examination room to find Liam on the grounds holding Hayden to him and Theo crouched down in front of him. "She's getting worse. I think she's dying." Liam said and Theo looked at Scott, "It's got to be some kind of mercury poisoning." He said. "Scott, remember what you promised me- you said you'd do everything you could to save her. If she's a real Werewolf, we can save her. You gotta give her the bite." Liam said and Scott looked up at them.
"No."
