Chapter Four
ð° The Benefactor ð°
"Like I said, I told my dad everything I could-" Stiles said as he and Scott walked through the McCall house, "But you didn't tell him about Liam?" Scott asked, still freaked out over what he did.
"You barely told me about Liam! What did you do with him, anyway?" Stiles asked and Scott looked over at him with wide eyes, "He's upstairs..." He said and Stiles furrowed his brows, "Doing what?" She asked and Scott squinted his eyes a bit. "Lying down..." He said slowly as they walked upstairs.
Stiles ripped over the shower curtain to see Liam laying down in the bathtub wrapped up in duck tape making Stiles look down and sigh while Liam let out a few muffled yells as Stiles slowly closed the curtain again. The two of them walked back into the room and Stiles and Scott sat down at the foot if the bed.
"So, you bit him?" Stiles asked and Scott nodded, "Yeah..." He said. "And you kidnapped him?" Stiles asked and Scott nodded slowly slowly again, "Yeah..." He said and Stiles raised his eyebrows. "And you brought him here?" Stiles asked and Scott looked at him, "I panicked!" He said and Stiles nodded. "Yup...This isn't going to end with us burying the pieces of his body out in the desert, is it?" Stiles asked and his only response was Liam muffled screams.
"As a reminder, this is why I always come up with the plans! Your plans suck!" Stiles said, "I know- which is why I called you. So, what do we do?" Scott asked.
Of course, Stiles's plan started with duck taping Liam to a chair. "Liam, we're going to take the tape off your mouth. If you scream, it goes right back on. If you talk quietly, it stays off. Got it?" Stiles asked and Liam nodded and Stiles ripped the tape off.
"Okay, Liam... Now, you've seen a lot of confusing things tonight. And more confusing things are going to happen because of the confusing things that happened tonight. Do you understand?" Stiles asked making them look at him confused, "Not really..."
"Good. That's good."
"I don't understand, either..." Scott said making Stiles sigh and turn to him, "Maybe you should tell him." He said. "Tell me what?" Liam asked and Scott sighed, "Liam... What happened to you... what I did to you... which I had to do to save you? It's going to change you..."
"Unless it kills you." Stiles added making Liam looked like he wanted to cry, "Shouldn't have said that." Stiles muttered. "What?" Liam asked as his eyes glossed over making their eyes widen, "Uh... Uh-oh. Oh-oh... Is he... Is he crying?" Stiles asked.
Scott sighed and crouched down in front of Liam, "Liam, it's okay. It's alright. You're not going to die." He said calmly making Liam look at him. "Probably not..." Stiles said making Scott give him a look, "Okay, possibly not." Stiles said.
"Would you just help me untie him?" Scott said and they took off all the tape, "Liam are you okay?" Scott asked while Liam stood up. "We're sorry about that. We're really sorry-" Stiles said but was cut off by Liam slamming the chair into them.
"Liam, what the hell is your-" Stiles started but was cut off again by Liam punching him making him fall to the ground before Liam ran out of the room. But when he got to the end of the hall he stopped and looked down at his leg confused then turned around when he heard Scott and Stiles stumble out of the room. "Ahhh! Get him!" Stiles yelled and they both screamed and ram at Liam making them all go tumbling down the stairs.
"Leg! I got him! I got him! I got him! I got him!" Stiles yelled as he and Scott wrestled on the ground before realizing that had a hold of each other. They both glanced over to see the front door wide open and Liam nowhere in sight.
"Your plan sucked too."
ð°
Avalon knocked on the door frame of Liam's bathroom before leaning up against it as he was bandaging his arm. "What excuse did you use on mom and dad about why you ditched the hospital and came home super late?" Avalon asked and Liam glanced at her, "I felt better so I left and went over to Mason's house." He said and she hummed and nodded.
"And what's the real reason?" She asked and he sighed, "Some psychopath dragged me up to the roof and pushed me off but Scott McCall grabbed me. But then he bit me, ducked taped me and put me in his bathtub until his friend came over and ducked taped me to a chair and said I could die." He said making her stand up straight and raise her eyebrows.
"I'm sorry back up a minute buddy. You almost fell off a roof, got bit by McCall, he kidnapped you and him and his friends said you could die and you're here, bandaging your arm like nothing happened?" Avalon asked and Liam shrugged slightly, "Yeah?" He said in a slight questioning tone.
Avalon sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose as she shook her head. "I'm gay and you're an idiot. Our bloodline is doomed." She mumbled before walking over to him, "Let me see the bite." She said and he held his arm out. She pulled the bandage off to see a bite that definitely didn't look human and almost seemed partly healed.
"How's your leg? Any pain?" Avalon asked, not looking up from her brother's arm and he furrowed his brows, "No, it's fine." He said and she looked at him. "When McCall bit you... What did he look like?" She asked and he shrugged slightly, "I dont know. It like looked like he had red eyes and fangs but I figured I was just hallucinating." Liam said and Avalon took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a moment.
"Fucking shit." She mumbled making him look at her confused, "What is it?" Liam asked and she sighed and rewrapped his arm. "Uh- it's getting late so we'll talk about this tomorrow, okay?" She asked as she grabbed his shoulder and he shrugged slightly and nodded. "Get some sleep." Avalon said as she patted his shoulder.
ð°
"Avalon!" Someone called out as Avalon was grabbing her lacrosse equipment out of her trunk making her look back to see Liam's friend, Mason waving at her. "Hey." Avalon said as she walked over to him, "Where's Liam?" Mason asked making her look at him confused. "He wasn't on the bus?" She asked and he furrowed his brows, "Why would he be on the bus? He rides with you." He said and she nodded slightly.
"Yeah but I had to meet up with my next client before school started so I told Liam to take the bus." She said and then all of the sudden Liam ran up to them, breathing heavily. "Hey, Liam! Why weren't you on the bus?" Mason asked and Liam glanced at them, "I ran." He said and Avalon raised her eyebrows.
"You ran three miles to school?" She asked and he nodded slightly, "Yeah... I just started running..." He said. "So, I guess your leg's okay? What happened to your arm?" Mason asked making Liam glanced down at his arm before his breathing got heavier and he leaned over the railing. "Hey, are you okay?" Avalon asked as she gently grabbed her brother's shoulder while he looked at something ahead of them.
Avalon followed his line of sight to see Scott watching them from where he stood by the school sign. "I'll talk to you later. I gotta get to class." Liam said before quickly walking off and Avalon sighed before quickly following him. Avalon grabbed his shoulder as they walked into the school and Liam glanced back to see Scott walk through the door after them.
"Ignore him." Avalon said but all of the sudden Stiles walked around the corner, "Liam, hey!" He said and started walking towards them.
"We need to talk-" Scott said but Liam cut him off, "No, you need to back the hell up, okay? All of you." He demanded and Scott sighed softly. "Can you just listen for one second? Please?" Scott asked and Liam sighed and gestured for him to talk, "Liam... we're brothers now." Scott said making Stiles squinted at him. "Oh, God, that's..." Stiles muttered as both Avalon and Liam looked at Scott weird.
"What are you talking about? We just met, and you bit me." Liam said looking at Scott like he was crazy, which he might as well be. "The Bite... the Bite is a gift." Scott said awkwardly and Stiles shook his head, stepping forward, "Scott, stop! Please, stop." Stiles said before pointing to Liam.
"You! You, we're trying to help you, you little runt!" Stiles said and Avalon raised her eyebrows at him, "By kidnapping him?" She asked and Stiles pursed his lips. "Just to clarify, Scott kidnapped him, okay? I aided and abetted." Stiles said and Avalon hummed and nodded slightly, "Right because that makes it so much better." She said sarcastically.
"Liam, I've gone through this before. Something's happening to you- something big." Scott said and Liam shook his head and looked at all of them. "Nothing's happening to me." He said before ripping off his bandage to show a healed arm, "Nothing!" He said then walked away.
Avalon waited until Liam turned the corner before she turned to Scott and Stiles with her arms crossed. "Did you really have to bite my brother? He is not the person to be turned into a Werewolf." She said making them look at her shocked, "Hold on. You know about all this?" Stiles asked and she looked at him looked at him like it was obvious.
"We leave in Beacon Hills. I don't know how everyone doesnt know about the supernatural at this point." She said before looking at Scott with an annoyed look. "You do realize he's only fifteen right? And now he has to deal the dangerous world of supernatural." She said and Scott sighed, "He was about to fall off the roof and there was someone fighting me. I didn't have any other choice." He said and she raised her eyebrows.
"You're telling me you're an Alpha Werewolf and you can't take a second to knock someone out before pulling my little brother up?" She asked making Scott and Stiles glance at each other for a moment. "If my brother's life is ever on the line again for something supernatural... I'm not gonna kill you, but I will make your life hell." Avalon said before walking away.
ð°
"I'm not sharing my basement." Malia said as they all stood in between two busses in some sort of pack meeting. "Actually, it's my basement, and my mom noticed how you tore it up last time." Lydia said, "Alright, she's still learning." Stiles said, defending his friend.
"But we're going to use the boathouse for Liam. It's got support beams- we can chain him to one of them." Scott said making them all look at him, "But how do we get him out to the lake house if he doesn't trust us?" Kira asked.
"I say, if it keeps him from murdering someone, we chloroform the little bastard and throw him in the lake." Stiles said while doing some dramatic hand gestures, "I'm in!" Malia said, raising her hand up making them all roll their eyes slightly.
"We're not killing or kidnapping him!" Scott said and Lydia raised her eyebrows slightly, "Then let's be smarter. We tell him there's a party and invite him." She said and Stiles raised his eyebrows slightly.
"So, you're going to ask out a freshman?" He asked and she shook her head, "No- I'm done with teenage boys. But, if we're playing a trick on someone... why not use the trickster?" She said and they all turned to look at Kira.
"Who, me? No way. Not me." Kira said, glancing at all of them, "Yes, you! You know what they call a female fox? A vixen!" Lydia said and Kira just looked at her with wide eyes. "Me?" Kira asked awkwardly and Lydia smirked and nodded, "You can do it, Kira. Be a vixen!" She said and Kira made a face and sighed.
"What about his sister? She seems pretty protective of him." Stiles said and Malia shrugged, "Bring her too." She said and Lydia nodded in agreement. "If his sister already knows about the supernatural then maybe her being there will make him more comfortable and help us get him to believe us." Lydia said.
ð°
"I just talked to Kira. She's on her way. She said it's all going fine." Scott said after pulling up to the lake house a second later Avalon pulled and walked over to them before sighing. "Okay, there's something you guys need to know before the full moon starts to kick in." She said as she glanced up at the moon, "What is it?" Scott asked.
"Why Liam got kicked out of our last school. He says he transferred but I'm not the who transferred, he got kicked." She said and the pack glanced at each other. "This is going to be bad, isn't it?" Scott asked and Avalon sighed and nodded.
"Liam's got anger issues, bad anger issues. He kind of got into it with one of his teachers." She said and Stiles raised his eyebrows, "How serious?" He asked and she pulled her phone out.
"Well- Uh, that's his teacher's car... After he took a crowbar to it." She said, handing Scott her phone. On the phone was a picture of a car covered in scraps and dents, the windows all smashed, tired flattened and the words "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT" scratched into the side.
The pack looked at Avalon with wide eyes as she shrugged slightly, "He naturally has the anger of a Werewolf on full moon, just without the blood lust. You better hope that this extremely idiotic plan you have works." She said.
ð°
Avalon sat on the arm of the couch as Liam and Kira walked in. He turned around to leave but Kira shut the door and smiled sheepishly, "Sorry."
"What the hell is this?" Liam asked looking at all of them, "Think of it like an intervention. You have a problem, Liam-" Stiles said and Scott nodded, "And we're the only ones that can help." Scott said and Liam looked at his sister and she sighed. "While I would have suggested something other than tricking you to come here..." She said as she gave a pack a pointed look, "You do need to hear it." She said before Scott went into a full explanation.
"Werewolf?" Liam asked looking at Scott who nodded, "Werecoyote?" He asked looking at Malia who nodded. "Banshee?" He asked looking at Lydia who smiled awkwardly and nodded. "Fox?" Liam asked turning to Kira who smile and shrugged slightly, "Kitsune. But "fox" works." Kira said then Liam turned to Stiles, "What are you?"
"Uh, for a little while, IÂ was possessed by an evil spirit... It was very evil..." Stiles said and they all nodded while Liam crossed his arms and raised his eyebrows, "What are you now?" He asked and Stiles pursed his lips. "...Better?" He said in a light questioning tone and Avalon raised her eyebrows slightly.
"Are those for me?" Liam asked pointing at the chains on the table, "No, they're for me." Malia said stepping up, flashing her blue eyes making Liam flinch back while Avalon hummed slightly. "How did you do that?" He asked and Scott stepped up, "You'll learn. But first, you need to get through the full moon."
"The moon's already out." Liam said irritated, "And you're starting to feel something, aren't you?" Avalon asked and he shook his head. "I feel like I'm surrounded by a bunch of psychotic nutjobs! I don't even know how you believe it!" Liam yelled and Avalon shrugged slightly. "You say that like it's the craziest thing I've ever done." She said.
"You guys are out of your freaking minds! I don't know how you did that eye-thing, and I don't care- I'm walking out the door right now, and if any of you try to stop me, I swear to God, I'm gonna-" He said aggressively before clutching his head and yelling out.
"What's wrong?" Avalon asked as she stood up, "You don't hear that?" Liam asked and headlights came though the window making their eyes widen. "Did you tell someone about this?" Avalon asked as Liam fell to the floor panting. "Mason... They said it was a party." Liam groaned, "Who did Mason invite?" Stiles asked and Kira looked out the window, "Everyone."
Liam grunted as his claws dragged across the floor, "The floors! Get him off the floors!" Lydia said and Liam looked up and roared at her making her back up. "We need to get him to the boathouse-now!" Scott said and him and Kira grabbed him and pulled out the back doors.
"Stiles...?"
"Yeah?" Stiles said looking at Malia who looked at him and growled, "Hey! Okay, basement. Now. Now!" Stiles said grabbing Malia and chains, "What are we supposed to do with the hordes gathering outside the door?" Lydia yelled.
"Lydia, who throws the best parties in Beacon Hills?" Stiles asked making Lydia turn to him, scoffing in offense, "What? Me! Obviously!" Lydia said and Stiles nodded while moving to the back door, "Then throw a party." He said and Lydia and Avalon turned to each other as Stiles and Malia ran off before Avalon sighed.
"I might not be your guy's biggest fan right now but I'll help you. I threw parties back in Davenford." Avalon said making Lydia sigh in relief before they walked over to the door. Lydia opened the door to reveal a giant group of freshmen making the two girls sigh.
"Hey... Uh, are we in the right place...?" Liam's friend Mason asked, "For the party?" Garrett asked awkwardly. Lydia and Avalon glanced at each other before looking back at the crowd with fake smile, "Absolutely." Avalon said making all the freshmen cheer which made Avalon discreetly roll her eyes.
Soon enough the party was a full force as Avalon and Lydia pushed past people. "I know my brother is one, but I hate freshman at parties." Avalon muttered and Lydia hummed, "That makes two of us." She said as they walked into the kitchen right as some dude walked in with a keg of beer.
"Okay, we didn't order a keg of beer- especially not domestic." Lydia said and the dude shrugged, "Somebody ordered it. Are you trying to tell me nobody here wants to drink?" Demarco asked and the girls sighed until Lydia noticed a glass of wine on top of her laptop. "Who put this here? This laptop is two thousand dollars... Oh, and that bottle of wine is four-hundred..." She said ripping a bottle of wine out of Garret's hands.
"How much." Avalon sighed turning to Demarco and he handed her a piece of paper, "What's this extra hundred dollars?" Avalon asked. "I call that the, "Yes, you do look twenty-one to me" surcharge." He said winking at them making Avalon raise her eyebrows at him. "Ever had a black eye before?" She asked and he furrowed his brows, "No." He said.
"Want one?" She asked and he shifted uncomfortably as Lydia set down the wine. She glanced around before noticing Mason walking up stairs. "Let me get you some cash." Lydia said before walking over to the stars making Avalon follow her. They walked upstairs and saw Mason walk into one of the rooms making them follow, "Mason, what are you doing up here? The party's downstairs." Avalon asked making him look at them.
"I was looking for Liam." Mason said awkwardly making Lydia sigh, "Sorry, but missing freshmen are a little low on my priority list." Lydia said walking around him and Mason raised his eyebrows. "But not so low you don't know he's a freshman and your hanging out with his sister?" Mason asked as Lydia grabbed a couple wine glasses and sighed.
"I might have seen your friend. Downstairs." She said before grabbing his arm and was about to pull him out of the room the wine glasses fell out of her hands, splattering red wine all over the white carpet.
"Oh, my God! The carpet. No, God, no!" Lydia said, dropping down trying to rub the wine out with her sweater. "Woah, hey. Doing that will just make it worse." Avalon said as she stopped Lydia from spreading the wine more. "I'm sorry... Was it valuable?" Mason asked and Lydia sighed and looked up.
"No. That's the problem- nothing in here's valuable." Lydia said, sitting up with tears down her face, "We just put the house on the market. It was supposed to be left without a scratch. It has to be in perfect condition. We need every penny we can get out of this place." Lydia said and Mason nodded.
"Okay. Let me go get some club soda and salt. Lydia, it'll come out. It will." Mason said before standing up and walking out the room, the door shutting behind him. Lydia slowly looked up when she realized they couldn't hear the music anymore.
Lydia slowly stood up and walked over to the door before opening it and the sound of music and people filled the room. She closed it again and they instantly couldn't hear the sounds anymore. She opened it and closed it once more before turning to Avalon. "Soundproof? Did you not know before?" Avalon asked, slowly standing up as Lydia glanced around the room confused.
She glanced around until noticing a record player against the wall. She slowly walked over to it and turned it on and Avalon looked at her confused as she walked up to her. The vinyl dropped and the needle went down but instead of normal music playing all Avalon heard was a white noise sound while Lydia was hearing distorted voices.
The voices slowly started becoming clearer but was still hard to understand as it sounded like it was multiple people talking all at once. "Do you hear that?" Lydia asked and Avalon raised her eyebrows, "Am I supposed to? I'm guessing this has something to you with you being a... Banshee?" Avalon asked and Lydia stared at the wall.
After a few minutes Kira walked in to see Lydia still listening to the record player. She looked at Avalon who just shrugged slightly before Kira walked up to them. "Hey, Lydia? Are you okay?" Kira asked before looking down at the record player, "What do you hear?"
"The key... The key to break the code."
A little while later the three of them stood in front of a laptop as Lydia slowly typed "ALLISON". Right after she pressed enter names started popping up with numbers next to them. "What is this?" Kira asked as they read the screen, "It's a list of supernaturals in Beacon Hills." Lydia said and Avalon leaned down to read it.
"It's a Deadpool- and you're all on it."
