Avalon's outfit:
Chapter Forty-Five

"Here." Liam yelled making Scott, Lori, Malia and Avalon run over to where he was at a tree that had an arrow sticking out of it, on the ground was Brett's phone. "I think he set a trap." Liam said and Avalon nodded slightly as she glanced around, "He's fighting back." She said.
"And now we know he's alive." Malia said and Lori walked over and ripped the arrow out the three, "But he's still hurt. We need to find him- he needs to know we're here." She said. She turned around and went to let out a roar but Avalon quickly stopped her, "You want the Hunter to know we're here, too?" She asked and Liam shook his head slightly.
"He's new. We can take him." He said and she sighed and looked at him, "I'm pretty sure the hunter being new is probably worse. Aiming to kill the second they see us is their best chance at survival." Avalon said and Malia nodded in agreement.
"And what if Brett howls back? He'll lead the Hunter right to him." Malia said and Scott shook his head slightly, "No, we could find him first. There's no human that can track sounds faster than we can, and we're got the advantage. We've done this before. We know what we're doing, guys." Scott said as Liam grabbed the arrow.
"How come I can't catch his scent?" Malia asked, "He's masking it." Lori said making sigh. "Can someone tell him not to?" She asked and before anyone could say anything Liam spoke up. "He went this way." Liam said and then him and Lori instantly took off.
Avalon  sighed before turning to Malia and Scott, "Does no one else see how dangerous this is? His trap didn't work." Avalon said and Scott sighed. "Maybe this Hunter is not such an amateur." Scott said and Malia looked at them, "Or maybe he's learning."
"The trail's gone." Malia said a few minutes after they caught up to Liam and Lori, "Uh, maybe he just stopped bleeding?" Scott suggested. "I think we should split up. Lori and I go this way, you guys go that way." Liam said making them look at him, "Or maybe we go in four directions?" Lori said and Malia shook her head.
"We should stick together." Malia said, "We have the advantage. It's five against one." Liam said and Malia shook her head slightly. "Not if we split up." Malia said, "I've been doing this the past three months without your help. I think I can make a decision." Liam said and Avalon scoffed and cocked an eyebrow.
"Liam, three months doesn't make you an expert. Have you never watched a single movie or at least been paying attention to the shit going on to know the splitting up is the worst option?" Avalon asked and Malia nodded in agreement, "Yeah, if you're deciding to do something stupid and die, then go ahead." Malia said sarcastically.
"It's one Hunter- one amateur- who doesn't know what they're doing." Liam said and Avalon nodded, "Exactly, they don't know what they're doing. Which means their only plan is shoot to kill." She said and Liam went to argue but she just gave her brother a look before turning to Scott. "Scott, can you please tell my brother that I'm right." Avalon said as they turned to Scott.
He glanced up at them before looking back down at the ground and moving some leaves away to show foot prints. "The Hunter. He's covering his tracks." Liam said and Scott looked up, "There's another." He said and Malia raised her eyebrows. "Two of them?" She asked and Avalon sighed, "Maybe more." She said and Scott nodded.
"How many Hunters have you seen out here before?" Lori asked making Scott sigh, "Too many." He said. "Still wanna split up?" Malia asked, side glancing Liam, "We can deal with it. We just need to find Brett's trail." Liam said as Lori glanced around.
"No, we don't." She said making them look over at her, "Rock balancing. Satomi taught us. It's him, and I know where he's going."
â
"He's been poisoned." Lori said as they looked at a puddle of black blood in the underground tunnels. "That's why he's not healing." Scott said as Lori stood up, "What if he only has a few hours to live?" She asked.
"Well, if we howl, we can find him." Liam said and Malia shook her head, "That's too risky." She said making Lori look at her. "Who cares about the risk? He could be dying." She said. "He's still moving." Malia said pointing at the spots of blood that lead farther down the tunnel, "We just need time to think." Scott said.
"I need him to know that I'm here, that I'm coming for him." Lori said and Liam nodded and looked at Scott, "Yeah, Lori's right. He has to know we're here." Liam said before looking down the tunnel. "Liam, wait!" Avalon said but Liam let out a loud roar making her sigh in annoyance.
When he was done his sister instantly smacked the back of his head. "Why didn't he answer?" Lori asked as they walked down the tunnel, "Maybe- maybe he didn't hear us." Liam suggested and Avalon sighed. "Or maybe he can't." She said before Lori started to walk forward and Avalon's eyes widened when she saw a trip wire
"Lori, no!" Avalon yelled right as Lori pulled the trip wire. Avalon quickly pushed her a away right as a spear shot out the wall and embedded in her stomach making all their eyes widen. "Avalon!" Malia yelled as ran over to her and helped her stay up.
"We need to get it out so she can heal." Malia said and they nodded, Liam helped Malia hold onto Avalon while Scott and Lori firmly gripped the spear before pulling it out. Avalon groaned as Liam and Malia helped her to the ground. "They had to know we were coming." Avalon groaned while Malia pressed a hand to her wound, "Don't talk. Just heal and let us figure this out." Malia said.
"They've been a step ahead of us the whole time."
"I'm sorry, but I can't wait around. We have to go." Lori said and Liam nodded, "We still have the numbers- four to two. We're faster, and we're stronger." Liam said and Avalon groaned and shook her head. "They're smarter." She said, "I don't care who's smarter, or faster, or whatever. My brother's going to die." Lori stressed and Scott shook his head.
"Something's not right. That arrow, the trip wire, the poison... These aren't amateurs." Scott said weakly, "But they've never fought us before." Liam said making Avalon give him a sharp look. "And you've never fought Hunters, Liam. We need to stick together." She said and Lori glanced at her, "I need to go."
"No, you're not going alone. I'll go with you." Liam quickly said, "Liam, you don't know who they are or what they're capable of." Scott said. "Look, I know who we are. We never give up. Especially when it's someone innocent. When it's someone alone. When it's one of our friends." Liam said and Scott was quite for a moment before nodding slightly.
"Okay. Go. Go. All of you. I'll catch up." Scott said making Avalon shoot him a look while Liam and Lori instantly ran off and Scott and Malia didn't move, "You guys can go with them. I'll catch up as soon as I heal." Avalon said and Malia shook her head. "You just need to shut up." Malia said and Scott nodded, "We're not leaving you alone and wounded when there's two hunters walking around."
"How did we miss that?" Malia asked as she glanced around and Scott shook his head slightly, "We underestimated them." Scott said. "But how did they rig a trap that big with us down here in the tunnels?" Malia asked and Avalon sighed as she looked at the trip wire, "They didn't. They rigged it a long time ago. The ends are rusted, it had to have been rigged a few months ago at least." Avalon said then groaned slightly.
"But we've been through these tunnels a hundred times." Malia said and Scott nodded, "And whoever this Hunter is, he's been through them a hundred more. And he knew we were here. He was waiting for us, tracking us. He was prepared, and we weren't." Scott said and Avalon groaned in pain. "There aren't a lot of people who spend time in these tunnels." Avalon said and Malia furrow her brows, "Who was the last Hunter we saw down here?"
"Argent." Scott said and Avalon thought for a moment before sighing, "And Gerard." She said. "The trap wasn't lethal." Malia said and Scott's eyes widened slightly, "It slowed us down."
"And split us up." Malia sighed, "He's planning something else, another trap." Scott said and Avalon sighed and shook her head. "And Liam and Lori are walking right into it." She said as she glanced at Scott, "Go. Find them before they die, please." Avalon said and Scott sighed and nodded before running down the tunnel.
"And you need to heal." Malia said and Avalon groaned slightly, "We need to go after them. They'll need help even if they have Scott." She said and Malia sighed. "You're so lucky I like you." Malia muttered before wrapping Avalon's arm around her shoulders. Avalon groaned as Malia helped her up before they started walking down the tunnel.
They managed to turn a couple corners before Avalon groaned and leaned against the wall. "I'm sorry..." She said and Malia shook her head, "Let me take your pain." She said as she grabbed Avalon's hand and Avalon shook her head. "We shouldn't waste any more time." Avalon said and Malia gave her a look, "Quiet." She said.
She squeezed her girlfriend's hand but furrowed her brows when she couldn't take his pain. "Why isn't it working? Why can't I take your pain?" She asked and Avalon shook her head slightly, "It's fine." She said and Malia shook her head. "No, it's not fine, Avalon. None of this is okay." She said and sighed softly, "We should have called Stiles." She said.
"We promised we wouldn't." Avalon said and Malia raised her eyebrows, "It was a stupid promise." She said and Avalon chuckled and nodded slightly. "I dont disagree but we did almost lose him last time." Avalo. said and Malia sighed, "Yeah, and now I'm gonna lose you, too... Again. I don't want that." She said and Avalon stared at her for a moment before her eyes started to flutter slightly.
"No, no, no, no, no. Don't pass out. I don't think you're supposed to pass out." She said as she grabbed Avalon's face, "Hey Avalon, look at me." She said making Avalon look at her. She stared at her for a moment before kissing her. Slowly, black veins trailed from Avalon's face to Malia for a second before Avalon gently cupped her face.
They pulled away and Malia noticed the black veins disappear from Avalon face making her sigh in relief. They smiled at each other for a moment before Malia wrapped Avalon's arm around her shoulders and helped her up. They started walking down the tunnels when they heard a loud roar making them stop.
"Liam..." Avalon said in a slight whisper as they glanced at each other.
