C43 â Do It!
âWrong is wrong; it doesnât become right just because the crowd agrees. Their unity sealed their fate. And the same goes for you all.â
Lampo Wanâs words carried weight, prompting all the teachers to bow their heads, caught between contemplation and sheer timidity.
After all, fools are never in short supply, anywhere.
Even the strong can play the fool without a second thought when the time comes.
âTeacher, I beg to differ!â
Liu Shibin huffed, visibly indignant. âThree men make a tiger, and a multitude turns falsehoods to gold. When everyone pronounces a word incorrectly, even the language can change. Thereâs no comparison between one person and twenty thousandâtheyâre expendable.â
âYouâre absolutely correct; there is no comparison.â
Lampoâs gaze on his students was steady, betraying no emotion. âThe Noshar Empire is in dire need of true strength. Twenty thousand nobodies are expendable.â
His words struck like a thunderclap, leaving the room thunderstruck.
Every teacher, Liu Shibin included, looked up at Lampo Wan in disbelief.
It was hard to fathom that the most senior teacher at Bayshore School, a revered level ten Animal Whisperer, would utter such harsh truths.
The lives of twenty thousand freshmen were deemed less valuable than one Zhou Mu!
As the teachers absorbed the shock, Lampo Wan simply lifted his gaze to the frenzied slaughter playing out before them.
A hush fell over the room.
Some were introspective, others silent, a few angry, and some harbored a thirst for vengeance.
But the verdict was inescapable.
Out of over twenty thousand freshmen, a mere eight hundred and seventy-one had survived the competition.
Zhou Muâs followers dominated the top ranksâsecuring the first three spots, nine of the top ten, and forty-seven of the top fifty.
This ranking competition was both the greatest tragedy and the most thrilling event in Bayshore Schoolâs history.
A mere ranking battle, yet it claimed the lives of five out of six tyrant beasts, with the sixth fleeing in terror.
From over twenty thousand freshmen, less than a thousand remained.
This brutal competition underscored a stark truth: the paramount importance of the strong.
Before Zhou Mu, twenty thousand freshmen were as helpless as chickens and dogs, utterly powerless to resist.
Just as Lampo had pointed out, the Noshar Empire was in dire need of strong individuals. Trading the lives of twenty thousand weaklings for one genius was a bargain!
â¦
âZhou Muâs eyes fluttered open as his consciousness settled back into his body. The battle had been exhilarating beyond words.
âHe had slain over ten thousand newcomers until he became numb to the carnage.
The outcome was quite satisfactory. Only a handful had managed to escape, while the majority fell to Gator and Little Green.
âHeh, a bunch of trash!â
Zhou Muâs voice, unfiltered and loud, echoed in the ears of the new students, instilling not anger but sheer terror.
They had been petrified by Zhou Muâs killing spree!
His brutal, ruthless massacre had them questioning whether they had descended into hell itself.
With no one daring to utter a word, Zhou Mu lost interest in taunting them further.
His gaze swept the room, quickly landing on the man in black standing behind Liu Shibin.
Zhou Muâs expression twisted into one of savagery as he suddenly bellowed.
âTrash! Do you dare to fight me to the death?â
Zhou Muâs abrupt challenge sent a shockwave of fear through the students, nearly causing them to leap out of their skin.
The man in black, singled out by Zhou Mu, felt his legs buckle, and he collapsed to his knees.
Previously, Zhou Mu had gravely wounded him, and a few harsh words had left him spitting blood in fury. But now, he was consumed by rage.
Yet, witnessing Zhou Muâs grim solo battle against ten thousand had utterly shattered his courage.
A Lord-grade spirit animal could decimate ten thousand with ease.
And a spirit animal with mastery over multiple area-of-effect abilities would kill even more efficiently.
The man in black was arrogant, but he was insignificant compared to Goldie and Gator.
A one-on-one duel with Zhou Mu? It would be a certain death.
âA true man doesnât fear defeat. Stripped of your schemes and tricks, do you lack even the courage to stand?â Zhou Mu sneered with contempt. âWhat a waste!â
ââYou⦠youâ¦â
The man in black trembled with rage, desperate to confront Zhou Mu, but the terror within him had taken root, immobilizing him despite his struggles.
Zhou Muâs words were laced with venomous curses, his intent clear as he sought to kill the man in black before everyoneâs eyes, determined to put an end to this petty squabble once and for all. His actions werenât the result of impulsiveness or madness; they were calculated, following a directive from the principal with whom he was to coordinate.
âHe had a hunch about the underlying motive.
âWhat a despicable thief!â Zhou Muâs insults hit Liu Shibin like a barrage, souring his expression further. As one of the top three level ten Animal Whisperers at Bayshore School, he found Zhou Muâs escalating insults intolerable, especially when they were directed at him.
âThe dignity of the mighty is not to be desecrated. Since youâre hell-bent on a death wish, donât blame me for my lack of courtesy,â Liu Shibin sneered, ready to take action. But as he prepared to rise, he sensed something amiss. A stealthy barrier had encircled him, an invisible prison holding him captive.
âIs this the Soul Crystal Wall? Teacher!â The disbelief on Liu Shibinâs face was palpable. He couldnât fathom that Lampo would turn against him, striking with lethal force without hesitation.
âWe cannot afford to squander our strength on futile infighting. Find peace in the afterlife, for your family and kin will soon join you,â Lampo said, his expression impassive, as if discussing the weather.
Lampo was known for his kindness, but that didnât mean he was blind to the reality of their situation. Liu Shibin was a man of petty grievances and vengeful nature, selfish, greedy, and devoid of compassion. In the face of Nosharâs dire circumstances, Liu Shibinâs obsession with personal vendettas, particularly his desire to eliminate Zhou Mu, was unacceptable.
Keeping such a man alive would only invite endless calamity. Better to act decisively, removing the threat he posed to the internal harmony and the development of the next generation.
ââIf you want me dead, donât expect to get out of this alive!â Liu Shibin roared, his face contorting into a mask of rage. Outmatched by the principal and the inscrutable Lampo, his fate was sealed.
Despite the grim outlook, it didnât mean he was without options to fight back.
If death was inevitable, heâd take everyone down with him.
âWangshu! Now!â
Lampo bellowed, and the long-prepared principal immediately sprang into action.
Brilliant radiance burst forth, with innumerable soul modes materializing in the air.
In an instant, a dazzling light shrouded the entire Bayshore School. It flared for a mere fraction of a second before collapsing inward at an indescribable velocity.
Boom!
A thunderous explosion echoed relentlessly, yet the fearsome energy didnât scatter in the least. It was entirely confined within the soul crystal.
