"Good morning class!" Miss Autumn rang out to us getting our attention from the toys we had.
"Good morning!" We all shouted back.
"Everyone please come sit on the rug!"
We did as told.
"Okay boys and girls as you all know soon it will be time for Halloween!"
Excitement broke out amongst us. I turned to my classmates giggling and silently cursing myself for forgetting.
"Students may wear a costume to classes on that day and we will be going around the dom classrooms trick or treating during class. Then we will have a halloween party back at the classroom!!"
"YAY!!!" I shouted loudly along with the class.
"Please have your mommies and daddies fill out these forms stating they understand the costume policy and to volunteer for our party."
We took a page and went to put it in our backpacks before returning to the rug.
"Okay now on with our lesson."
How as I supposed to focus though?! I let my mind race with costume possibilities.
"Ria? Are you with us?" Miss Autumn asked breaking into my thoughts.
"Uhh yes" I said feeling my cheeks heat up in embarrassment.
"So what was I talking about?"
"Uuhhh..." I stammered trying to think of something
"I know everyone is excited but we need to focus on our class. Grade cards go out soon and we don't want bad grades to show our mommies and daddies do we?" She asked the whole class.
I gulped and shook my head. School was very important to Alex.
I tried my best to snap myself out of daydreams during the rest of the lesson.

"Daddy!!" I yelled as I saw him and ran up to him.
"Why hello lovely what has you all excited?" He asked kissing my head.
"HALLOWEEEEN!!" I stated showing him the paper from my bag.
"Hmmm I guess this means we need to go costume shopping tonight!" He said after a dramatic pause.
"YES YES YES!!" I squealed.
"MOMMY I wanna go costume shopping tooo!" Eloise said.
Soon all the littles in our group were begging their doms to go.
"Girls! And Ashton!" Leah finally said loudly. "Let us doms talk and we will figure something out. But for petes sake stop begging!" She said shaking her head.
The littles just giggled and mumbled sorrys.
"Daddy can we do a couples costume?!" I asked excitedly.
"Sure princess whatever you want" he said smiling at me.
"NOOO," Avery said suddenly coming over to my face.
"You have to do a group costume with us littles!" Eloise chimed in.
"Yeah its tradition!" Gwyn chipped in.
"Last year we went as a pack of crayons, the year before it was Dr. Seus characters!" Ashton informed.
"But I wanna do a couples costume with my daddy!" I said defensively.
"Noo come on! Do one with us!" They all yelled at me.
"Idk guys like what?" I said thinking maybe if it was good enough I would be okay with it. "I really wanted to do a scary thing with daddy though. Like Chucky and the bride of Chucky" I said.
"Really? You Miss Pink and Bright and Glitter girl wants to do scary?" Cole chuckled at me bopping me on the nose lightly.
"I love scary!!" I said.
"She does. We have been watching a Halloween movie everynight and she is just fascinated with the scary stuff," daddy pipped in.
"Scary is tooo....well scary!" Eloise said.
"You gotta do cute with us!" They all tried to convince me.
"Okay okay okay! Enough guys lets eat its getting late and lunch will be over soon. No more Halloween talk. You guys can figure it out later. Ria can do whatever she wants to as long as her daddy lets her," Cole said winking at me.
Cole was like the best uncle ever. In fact so was Dean and Leah was like the best aunt. We all slowly became more of a family everyday.
Lunch went by too fast and soon Daddy was dropping me off back at class for nap time.
Snuggly in my cot I was daydreaming about Halloween. I picked up my doll and started pretending we were shopping for costumes.
"Ria. Doll down eyes closed," Miss Autumn said as she crouched down by my cot.
I quickly nodded and shut my eyes. I turned on my side though and kept my doll down once she left. I opened my eyes and knew she couldn't see them open as I faced the wall away from her. I quietly played with my doll and kept pretending.
I realized I never fell asleep once the lights came on. Oopse. Oh well I could handle it.

Once the day was over I rushed to the library.
"Daddy!! Are we going shopping with everyone tonight?!" I asked.
"Sssh this is the library!" Some random kid said from a table. He was doing research.
I stuck my tongue out at him which got me a quick smack to the butt.
I turned and looked. Daddy was trying not to look amused but he didnt hide it well.
"So are we?" I whispered breaking the silence.
Daddy cracked a big smile then and nodded his head.
"Yayyyy!!!" I said in a hushed tone.
"You need to go read quietly until we can leave though," he said.
I did as I was told and got a good book out.
I guess I got lost in the book cause soon daddy was coming over and telling me it was time to go.
"Wait. Stephen King?! That will give you nightmares!" Daddy said
"Noooo it won't. I promise daddy!" I said hugging him and holding my arms out to be picked up.
Daddy sighed and picked me up.
"Uh huh sure it won't. You're going to have nightmares and keep us up all night," Daddy replied carrying us out of the library.
"No I promise I won't!!" I stated defensively.
"Lets watch that tone little girl. Did you get a good nap today?" He asked.
"Uh no...I was too excited to sleep." I said hiding my face.
"Oh boy. Tonight should be interesting then." Daddy said walking us to the parking lot.
