“Thanks, honey, but… um, what did I do?” There’s no ‘Symbiont’ entry in the Book of Monsters, leaving us all scratching our heads. Naturally, I went to the smartest person I know, Gabby.

The shortstack adjusts her spectacles and studies us one after another, Echidna, Human, mouse, and… Symbiont. “I’ve said before individuals have proclivities for certain evolutionary paths. It’s a deep and mysterious process at the best of times. The Book of Monsters is no more than a guide compiled of extensive research notes. Brenda probably couldn’t have copied Flou to become a Red Stone Swarm Ooze just as not every bunny will evolve into a Playmate, and those who do become Playmates aren’t guaranteed to become Showbunnies no matter their Dark Magic exposure.

“That said, there’s always a logic to every monster’s progression—with Alex acting as the catalyst, accelerating a process that could’ve taken years to achieve otherwise. We can tell by the name that Brenda has fundamentally changed her type.

“A symbiosis is a living companionship between two or more organisms, whereas an Ooze is an apex predator. Previously, Brenda was defying her instincts under Alex’s orders to socialize with her prey.” The Gobliness’s gaze indicated Jonny and Bonny. “Once Brenda accepted her ‘prey’s’ seed into her core, becoming pregnant, the terms ‘predator’ and ‘prey’ no longer described the relationship between her lovers and herself.”

Brenda nods introspectively. “I do feel different. Yes, it’s like my instincts have been rewritten. The hunger changed from flesh to… flesh in a sexy sense. And bodily fluids. Even though I just had sex, I’ve got a powerful thirst for cum.”

“Any idea what the evolution does?” I wonder aloud. Gabby nods along with enthusiasm as if she’d barely restrained herself from starting with that question.

The Green Stone Symbiont ponders, inspecting her new intuition before answering. Her eyes drift to Jonny. “I have the urge to protect my loved ones. I want to wrap him up and keep him safe.”

He seems game. “That’s nothing we haven’t done before. Let’s give it a shot.”

As if drawn to a loadstone, Brenda rushes over to him. The process is far different than before, though. Instead of stopping when she envelops him, her slime pours into his every orifice, streaming through his mouth, nose, ears, and eyes to enter his body. At the same time, her Stone Ooze shell spreads across every square inch of his body.

The whole thing takes a full minute before completion, during which Bonny and I watch with bated breath. Part of me wants to try to stop Brenda, but I force myself to be patient.

Then Jonny/Brenda opens their eyes. I say ‘they’ because the glowing gelatinous emerald consistency of his orifices is Brenda, but the face and expression—pleased and self-confident—is Jonny. When they speak, it’s a combination of their voices like a two-toned overlay.

““Wow,”” they marvel at their marble muscles, sculpted abs, green hair, and luminous Slime cock and balls.

“Fascinating,” Gabby whispers to herself.

“Hey… guys,” I awkwardly address them, “Are you both still there?” Bonny trembles while waiting for the answer.

It takes them a few distracted seconds, but they eventually reply, ““Yeah, we’re here.””

“They still smell Human,” Gabby notes aloud.

I can confirm that is the case, their scent a mixture of that delightful sour apple and delicious Human musk. Their cum must taste incredible… Ahem! Not the time. “Can the two of you separate?” With how fully integrated they seem, I worry that this change is permanent.

““Um, let’s see.”” Pause… ““Bl-bl-blllaaarrrggghhh!””

Green Slime pours forth from their mouth in a great waterfall. Stone fully encases their every orifice as they close their eyes, then cracks and flakes off to reveal human skin beneath. The entire process takes another full minute. Not exactly a fast change that could be done in battle.

Bonny and I breathe a sigh of relief as Jonny opens his blue eyes and Brenda reforms her usual body.

“That was so cool!” Jonny exclaims.

“So warm,” Brenda sighs while longingly staring at her husband.

“What was it like?” Gabby pokes and prods Jonny’s body from all angles.

The young man immediately replies, “I felt smarter. Stronger and faster too.”

His Symbiont wife giggles, “You’re not dumb, but I suppose two heads are better than one.”

Huh. “May I try?”

Brenda is taken aback for a moment, then happily complies, “Of course, Alex.”n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

The Symbiont joining process is interesting for sure. Not quite erotic, but not unpleasant; it feels like my body is melting in acid without the expected pain. Then I’m reforming and Brenda is suddenly there in my mind, sharing my senses, and thinking what I’m thinking.

Oh, I’m worth a lot of marks!

Yes, she is. If I have her equipped, that frees up four Slime marks I would otherwise have spent on my typical build, with Stone Ooze Skin as a bonus. Not only that, but her Green Slime Body counteracts some of the negative effects of Stone Skin (the stiffness she described when evolving). The fleshy Slime parts of my body—the facial orifices, nipples, cock, vagina, and anus—are extremely sensitive. Then there’s the fact Green Slimes can control the acidity of their Slime, which is why ‘Acid Something’ doesn’t show up on my mark menu; it’s baked into the body modifications. On top of everything, her version of Amalgamation seems to allow Stone Skin to coexist with both Photosynthesis and Lizardman Scales.

Overall, she’s an extremely potent partner.

You’re welcome, but I’m just thinking facts to myself. As for why Mutability and Malleability aren’t here, they’re both meta-mark abilities that seem to come from the Slime’s nature rather than existing as descriptive abilities from the monster.

Considering Brenda is in my head—Yep—how does moving around and stuff work? Experimentally, I move one hand, and she moves the other. I use Air Magic, Water Magic, Earth Magic, and Fire Magic simultaneously using my four Multitasking focuses, and I activate your Blood Magic.

A fifth focus!

+2 from Swarm Slime Multitasking, +1 from Sweet Bee Extra Arms, and +1 from me, for a total of five focuses.

With that in mind, I’d say Brenda is on par with Flou’s Blood Star mode.

That’s high praise from you, Alex. I’d be embarrassed or doubt your words if I didn’t know you were being honest. The emotions I’m feeling from you, the affection, goodwill, not to mention lust, it’s incredible. I thought I was beneath your notice but, from the day we met, you were always trying to get me to safety, worrying that I was okay. “Alex, you in there?” Gabby asks us, worried.

As cool as this is, we should split up when we’re not needed for battle. You’re Jonny’s wife, after all. Plus, can’t fuck yourself.

I know. But being merged with someone who loves you is addictive.

I vomit Green Slime and shed my Stone Skin, losing all my temporary abilities in the process that weren’t redundant with my current marks. Also, I confirm Green Slime Body is new to my list—probably a menu unlockable hidden behind multiple co-current body modifications.

As I come-to, Brenda gives me a big teary hug. “I love you, Alex.” Then she breaks off to run over and glomp Jonny, “I love you, Jonny! Can we merge again?”

He laughs and pats her head, “Let’s wait until tomorrow. We can’t spoon in one body.”

That appears to be the winning argument, because everyone is sleepy.
