After the adults had left, Bai Qingqing didnât bother to pretend in front of Bai Xiaofan and pulled Curtis into her bedroom.
âWhy didnât you discuss it with me beforehand? You startled me!â Bai Qingqing grumbled as she slapped his arm.
Curtis hugged her, sounding baffled. âHavenât I told you before that I was going to give you tuition this week? Have you forgotten?â
âThat was just saying for fun. We havenât even planned for it!â Bai Qingqing said furiously and squirmed out of Curtisâs hug to take out his âstudent IDâ.
âAlso, whatâs this? Ke Di? Where did you get this from? Donât tell me you found a real âKe Diâ and changed his photo to yours?â Bai Qingqing guessed.
Curtis said, âThatâs too troublesome. I merely found a random student and borrowed his student ID to take a look, then made a copy of it.â
Bai Qingqing: â...â So it was all fake.
âYouâre really bold. Arenât you afraid of being exposed?â Bai Qingqing said.
Curtis placed the student ID in his bag and said, âI didnât expose myself, didnât I? Letâs go out. Not only do I have to give you tuition, but Iâve also got to teach Bai Xiaofan as well.â
âYouâre really going to give us tuition?â Bai Qingqing asked in astonishment.
âOr else?â Curtis glanced at her with a smile in his eyes, before opening the door and heading out.
Knock knock.
He knocked on Bai Xiaofanâs door.
The door quickly opened. Bai Xiaofan was holding a phone and staring at Curtis with a blank look. He had already found Parkerâs name on his contact list.
Curtis swept an imperceptible glance across his screen and said in a calm yet stern tone, âI heard your Math results are especially bad. Take out your math textbook and practice book.â
Bai Xiaofan nodded dazedly, then turned around and retrieved his Math books.
He had been wondering why his mother had suddenly asked him to bring back his math books. So it turned out she had hired a tutor for him. But wasnât this his older sisterâs ex-boyfriend? Would he be reliable as a math tutor?
Bai Xiaofan came out with his books, and when he saw Bai Qingqing he immediately froze. The pair of siblings started a vigorous exchange of gazes.
âWhatâs the deal with that person? Hasnât he been dumped by you?â Bai Xiaofan blinked his eyes maniacally.
Bai Qingqing returned the same gaze. âTold you not to believe Parker.â
âHey, is he really going to give us tuition? Is this real?â Bai Xiaofan was blinking so hard his eyes were about to cramp.
âDoes it look like heâs joking?â Bai Qingqing gave him a âTake care of yourselfâ gaze, and resumed a normal facial expression just before Curtis turned around.
Curtis stroked her head dotingly and said, âGo do your homework first. Iâll assess your brotherâs learning situation first.â
âMm,â Bai Qingqing responded cooperatively.
The three of them sat in a row by the table, with Curtis sitting in the middle. He retrieved a piece of paper from his bag and handed it to Bai Xiaofan.
âDo this.â Then, he recalled something and added, âI know you guys are used to cheating, so your results are higher than your actual standard. You canât cheat this time. Only do the questions you know how to do and leave the ones you donât know blank.â
âOh.â Somewhat afraid of him, Bai Xiaofan obediently complied.
With a pair of blood-red snake eyes staring intently at him, Bai Xiaofan had no chance, nor the guts to cheat. In no time, he finished the paper. Reason being, half of it was left blank.
Curtis felt incredulous. He didnât even look at the tens of questions densely written on the paper and simply said, âOut of the ten multiple-choice questions, youâve gotten three wrong. For the remaining open-ended questions, apart from the ones left blank, youâve got four of them wrong. In the last four major questions, two were left blank and one was wrong. Out of a total of 150, youâve only scored 59 marks.â
Bai Xiaofan widened his mouth in shock. This person is here to act cool, isnât he?!
