Author's Note : I would be gone for a month. I usually stay busy with

online class and exams, assignments etc. It's just a bit stressful for me

and I wanted to take a small break. I hope you understand.

A pained groan leaves his lips as he sits up. He looks around finding

himself in the middle of the forest, near the border of the pack.

Confusion fills his mind when he couldn't remember how he ended up

here of all places.

He finds a few of his warriors a few distance away from him, the ones

who were in charge of night patrol unconscious or just waking up and

looking around them cluelessly. Clearly confused how they ended up

almost at the edge of the forest.

He could feel his wolf, trying to communicate with him.

"What is it?" Adryan questions.

"Mate" Vince whimpers in his mind.

"Jade" her name a whisper. It was like he was suddenly struck with an

onslaught of memories. Him in his office. Catching her scent. Her trying

to run away. Him chasing after her.

That is all he could remember. His memories were hazy, like a series of

blurred images. He started to panic. Where was she?!

He quickly stands up, going behind on of the trees and wearing the

shorts he founds tucked into the bushes near by. His pack kept cloths

around the forest, so whoever needed it could use it to cover

themselves after shifting into their human form after a run.

Adryan looks around him, he could catch her faint scent which stopped

at the border of his pack. He seemed to quickly realize what had

happened. She had manage to escape. She ran away. From him.

It pained him to say it, and even think about it.

Anger builds up inside him but mostly sadness, and remorse.

He hadn't felt so many emotions in a very long time, in fact years.

In between all this his wolf's constant whimpers weren't helping his

case either.

"What is it?" He snaps at Vince. Trying to get through his wolf through

the common link they shared.

"I can't tell you" he whimpers.

"What do you mean you can't tell me?!" Adryan asks "Do you know

something I should know about?!" Adryan had a feeling that his wolf

knew something, but his wolf wouldn't say what it was for whatever the

reason was.

"Tell me" he insists.

"She wouldn't want us to" Vince whispers, sadness lacing his voice.

Vince retreats back into Adryan’s mind, causing him to panic.

"Vince! Vince".

His wolf's silence was all he got in return.

A roar leaves Adryan's lips, his chest aching. Startling the still in distress

warriors who just woke up from whatever spell they were under. His

roar shook the forest floor, birds fly out of the trees startled as well.

He punches a nearby tree, snapping it into two in one go.

She can run as much as she want now. But he wasn't one to give up so

easily. He was going to find her no matter whatever it took. No matter

how long, he would find her.

"I'm going to find you, Jade. It's only a matter of time." He whispers.

Jade has been running in her wolf form for almost seven hours now, it

was a miracle that she hadn't collapsed face first into the forest floor

with exertion.

She was almost at the place Violet had asked her to stop and wait for

her Aunt. Who would be waiting for Jade in a black car near the edge of

the forest.

Kira, Jade's wolf was cautious while manuvering her way through the

forest, it was clear to her that Kira knew about Jade's pregnancy way

before her.

Kira comes to a stop at the edge of the forest, she looks around for the

car or a woman. She couldn't shift into her human side since she

couldn't see, it was a blessing that she could in her wolf form, thanks to

her werewolf eyesight.

She'd have to spot the car and then shift.

Suddenly she could pick up the rumble of a car headed her way. She

watched as a black car parked itself at the edge of the forest, a few

meter away from where she herself stood in her wolf form.

. A woman, probably in her late forties got out of the car. She had dark

brunette hair like Violet but blue eyes instead of Violets's dark green

eyes. She could spot the familiarities among them. This woman had a

calm aura around her which put Kira at ease.

Kira stepped out of the forest, and she could hear the woman let out an

audible gasp at spotting her black wolf with white highlights. It was

unusual for wolves to have two colours on their fur. Werewolves were

only seen to be in one colour as a whole but here she was, a mixture of

midnight black and white.

Well, she was a Hybrid too. Which was also said to be extinct nowadays.

So, Jade wasn't a normal werewolf in that sense.

Kira takes no time in shifting back into her human form. Jade felt

relieved to be back. She had not been in her wolf form for this long. It

was refreshing. Feeling the wind whip her fur around but it was

exhausting too and her being pregnant didn't help that factor at all.

Jade immediately takes out the clothes from the duffle bag she had

been carrying in her wolf form clamped between her jaw.

After getting dressed, she walks towards where she remembered the

woman stood.

"Hi, I'm Jade" Jade speaks up, unsure of herself.

"Hi Dear, my name is Scarlett Harvey, I'm Violet's aunt". Scarlett was a

sweet woman even now she oozed warmth and kindness which made

Jade and Kira relax.

Her wolf senses never betrayed her.

“I hope I'm not disturbing your life by coming here, Mrs Harvey —"

Jade starts to say but gets cut off by Scarlett scoffing playfully.

"Honey, please call me Scarlett, Mrs Harvey makes me sound old and

besides now you are family." This causes Jade to smile at her words,

family. She tried not to think about her parents and pack much, it just

bought a load of nightmares along and Jade had enough on her plate

at the moment.

"Thankyou, Mrs — Scarlett” corrects herself at the last moment causing

Scarlett to chuckle.

"Oh, please don't be so formal with me. And oh, let me take those bags,

you might be tired". Scarlett takes the duffel bag from Jade, surprising

her since she didn't have time to react.

"No, I can handle it" Jade tries to say but Scarlett has already opened

the back of her car stuffing the bag inside.

"Come on, it's about an hour drive. You can sleep in the car" Scarlett

says.

Scarlett helps Jade into the passenger seat and gets herself into the

driver seat. Jade could feel the ignition of the car turn on with a rumble.

Her side of the window was rolled down, letting the wind whip her hair

and face as the car drove forward.

"I'm going to find you, Jade. It's only a matter of time."

She lets put a gasp startled, it was just a mere whispers but she was

able to understand the words. Her body tenses in realization. They had

started a bond when they mated. The first stage of marking ones mate.

She was sure it was him. It was Adryan's voice she had heard in her

head.

"What happened?” Scarlett asks, managing to catch Jade's change in

demeanor.

"Nothing. It's nothing".
