I left my house a little after noon. By the time I got to Darius' house, there were bikes parked in front of it. I briefly wondered if his friends lived out of his house because they were always there. I had barely lifted my hand to knock on the door when it flew open. Amy stood there with a smile on her face as she ushered me inside.
She held me in front of her like a shield and for a split second, I wondered what it was about until I saw Ian. I let out a sigh of resignation as his eyes found me. He tried to peer over my shoulder at Amy but she was determined not to look at him. I offered him a sad smile because I could see how badly he was hurting but that was the best I could do. At the end of the day, he had to fix his issues with Amy by himself.
I was led over to the spacious dining room where everyone was seated. Darius was lounging on a love seat by himself and there were two open seats, one next to Ian and the other next to Jared. I wanted to take the one next to Ian to save Amy from having to sit there but as I tried to walk past Darius, he reached out and pulled me by my waist into the open spot next to him.
A tongue lashing was at the tip of my lips but I had to remind myself that there were other people there. He raised a brow as if daring me to speak and if we were alone, I would have strangled him until I felt the life slowly leave his eyes. I relished in my murderous thoughts and when I looked up at Darius again, he was trying and failing to hide his laughter.
He leaned down towards my ear and his voice was husky as he spoke. "You're more than welcome to try but I think my hand would look prettier on your neck than yours will look on mine."
Wetness pooled between my thighs and he knew it because his eyes zeroed in on my legs. I crossed my legs immediately while pink heat flooded my cheeks. Darius closed his eyes and inhaled deeply presumably in an attempt to calm himself before pulling away from me. it felt good to know that it affected him just as much as it affected me and I had that much power over him.
"If you're good, I'll take care of you after," he promised before turning away from me to face Amy who had called us all.
She had taken the seat next to Jared leaving Ian frowning and glaring at the innocent man. Jared looked amused by the entire thing and was making a show of whispering into Amy's ears. I shook my head to myself in amusement. They may be wolves but they would always be men first and men are children.
Darius cleared his throat turning everyone's attention towards him. "I know you're all wondering why I called you here. Amaris returned yesterday and she has some news that might affect us all here."
Amy smiled and cleared her throat. "For those of you who don't know, I wasn't due to return for at least another month but I heard about Leindra. News spread that she had returned and I knew that if I had heard it then so had she."
Murmurs filled the entire room but I was left confused. Who was she? Who were they talking about? Was she another wolf or someone they had beef with before? No one was offering up any explanation and I hated feeling out of the loop but I stayed quiet.
"I have tried my best to find her but she's elusive. She is never in one place too long and she seems to be toying with my spies. I don't know when she will return but I am sure that she will and until then, we have to remain vigilant."
As soon as she was done speaking, Darius immediately went into Alpha mode. He started barking out orders to his men while I sat there looking confused and out of place. I wanted to ask questions but none of them would leave my mouth and when they did, they were too quiet for anyone to hear.
After a while, I was able to loosen my tongue and turn to Darius. "Who is she?"
He either didn't hear me or was too concentrated in his order to respond so I asked again. The second time went unanswered and I started to get frustrated. I asked a third and a fourth time but there was still no response. On the fifth, I stood to my feet.
"Who the hell is she?" I didn't realize how loud I had spoken until the room went completely quiet. "You're all talking about a 'she' like I know who she is. What does she want with me and why would she come here?"
"You're all excused," he said and within a minute, the room had cleared out.
He stood to his feet and walked past me to open a cupboard. He retrieved a bottle of whiskey and a glass and I watched as he poured it and handed it to me. I hated whiskey but if it meant having the conversation with him then so be it. I downed the glass at once and cringed at the bitter taste.
"The woman we were talking about was Faye. She is my little sister."
When Darius spoke, I expected him to break into a laugh and say he was joking but there was nothing of the sort. He downed another glass of whiskey as if to calm his nerves but that had to be wrong because Darius never got nervous.
"Why are you worried or scared about your little sister?" I asked when I couldn't take the curiosity anymore. "Shouldn't you be happy that she is coming to visit? I would be ecstatic if Chris was coming over to see me."
"Faye is not like Chris in any way. She was ten when our parents died so I practically raised her. It didn't matter that I was just twelve, I did my best. I don't know where I went wrong because she had always been different. She was unnecessarily cruel to everyone. It got worse when I became of age and was given the Alpha position." Understanding dawned on me as he spoke.
"She wanted it, didn't she?" I asked and he nodded.
"Faye was jealous and cruel and she wanted to do anything to get her hands on it. She was nineteen then but she was resourceful. She tried on numerous occasions to take the throne from me but she never succeeded. She ran away when she was twenty-two and I have never seen her since then."
He placed the bottle and now empty glass on the table and ran his hands through his hair in frustration. I could not imagine being in his shoes. He must be torn between wanting to protect his pack and wanting to do the right thing by putting his sister away. I was not Darius' biggest fan but it didn't mean that I was not empathetic towards his plight.
He took a seat on the closest chair to him and I could tell that he was tense. I hoped I wouldn't regret what I was about to do as I walked over to the door and locked it. Darius did not move from his position but I knew that he heard me because he straightened at the sound of the lock.
"What are you going to do when you find her?" I asked engaging him as I moved over to the curtains and closed them.

"I don't know, I would need to find her first. Amaris has the best spies in the land and
she has not been able to find Faye. Faye will only come out of hiding when she wants,"
I hummed as I closed the last curtain and the room fell into darkness.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"Helping you relax."
I used the light from my phone to find the torches and I lit one. The room was cast in a soft glow that I realized was perfect for what I needed to do. Darius was watching me now with rapt attention as I reached for the hem of my shirt and pulled it over my head. He swallowed a knot in his throat as his eyes ran over every curve of my body.
I had chosen a lacy white bra this morning not expecting that anything would happen but I was grateful for it. It made my breasts look fuller and you could see my nipples through it.
I pulled down my jeans next leaving me in nothing but my matching white underwear. Darius was staring at me like a hunter would their prey and he made to stand up but I held up a hand to stop him. He swallowed deeply but obliged and I let out a sigh of relief. I don't know what I would have done if he didn't.
I made my way over to him and went on my knees right in front of him. Understanding dawned on him and heat smoldered in his eyes. He was already hard and my mouth watered as I thought of what it felt like to have him before.
"You don't have to do this." His voice was strained as he spoke as if it took too much out of him to say those words.
"I know, I want to but the question is, do you want me to?"
"Fuck yes."
