Y/N was an unfortunate corporate slave, despite being at age 28, she was still single...
Until yesterday, she was still an unmotivated zombie who dragged herself to a company in a white-collared shirt, trying to please her superiors... that all changed when a strange parcel was delivered to her doorstep on a rainy day.
The parcel itself radiated an ominous aura, practically screaming "touch me and you're cursed for life!!". Alas, the curious girl who was desperate for change and had nothing to lose opened the parcel, finding a mysterious novel inside it.
She first opened the book and flipped through a few pages, a few pages became a few chapters, and a few chapters became so much more... she lost track of time and got so engrossed in the plot. As she flipped over another page, it was already the end...
"WHAT?! A CLIFFHANGER?? Oh god I hate these things..." she grumbled to herself. "What am I even doing with my life..." Having read the book once, she recounted the events of the story.
The world of the book was set in a place called Ephina. It was a fantasy world with dragons and familiars. The male lead was a crown prince by the name of Leonas Winter. Just like his last name, the crown prince was cold and stoic, barely showing any emotion. His people found him elegant and noble, yet intimidating and never to be crossed. This narcissistic prince always found everything around him to be dull. Growing up in a palace filled with servants, you'd think he'd at least be a little grateful, well apparently not.
The crown prince was just a spoilt brat. He found every living being to be a "toy" for his entertainment. Of course, being the heir next to the throne, no one would dare defy his orders, and could only play along.
The female lead of the story was the exact opposite. She was born into a commoner family where her parents struggled to put food on the plate. At the age of 10, her parents were killed in an accident with another noble family. Being a commoner, she couldn't do anything about it. The nobel family, being afraid that the accident would tarnish their reputation, quickly covered up everything and blamed it on the female lead's dead parents, saying that "they attacked first" and that "it was an act of self defence".
Of course, they couldn't completely erase the incident, since the female lead witnessed everything that happened. Apparently the young heir of the nobel family was "practicing his magic", when the female lead's parents tried to hurt the young heir, causing the young heir to unleash a powerful spell that killed her parents, but of course, that wasn't the truth.
The young female lead who witnessed everything from behind a small bush was too scared to make a sound. It is known that typical commoners do not possess magic, and her parents didn't either. In truth, her parents witnessed the young heir "practice his magic" on live animals, striking them mercilessly with his magic, and only wanted to intervene. The haughty young heir intended on striking them with his magic to cripple them, however, he lost control of his own magic and ended up killing the female lead's parents.
The young female lead was only a young child at the time, and a commoner no less. What could she do? Absolutely nothing. The female lead was then taken in by some mage who took pity on her, and was taught magic. That's right, even though typical commoners could not wield magic, the female lead was born with an aptitude for light magic, as expected of course. The female lead trained under the wing of the unknown mage, with her hate for nobels growing each day. The female lead was then given the name Alisa Lenal. Young Alisa often pondered... Why did this happen to her? Why didn't the haughty heir receive any punishment? This matter was too complicated for a young innocent child to understand...
When the male lead meets the female lead in the prestigious academy of magic, their relationship started off rocky. With the female lead despising all nobels, and the male lead seeing her as a "toy". Later on, their relationship would blossom, and they would fall in love with each other, like any other romance plot. However, no story would progress without an antagonist, that's where the rival villainess, Elise Alphonse.
Elise Alphonse is a young nobel from a wealthy nobel family. The Alphonse family had been close to the royal family for many years, it was only natural for the two heirs from each family to be engaged. At the age of 13, the engagement of the male lead and the villainess was decided by the parents of their families. Of course, the crown prince raised many objections, but they were all turned away by his parents. Elise on the other hand, fell in love with the prince during their first meeting. While her feelings were not reciprocated, she wasn't giving up so easily.
Moving forward to the lead cast's time in the academy of magic, the villainess was a top scorer who had an aptitude for flame magic, while the male lead had obtained an aptitude for water magic. Clearly, the elements of the magic the male lead and villainess wielded was a plan for the author of the novel to put the villainess at a disadvantage. Moving towards the end of the novel, the male lead puts an end to the villainess' evil deeds, executing her with his own sword. The female lead and the male lead get married in the end, living their happy ending.
It's supposed to be a good ending, but Y/N can't help but feel bad for the villainess... all she had done was pursue the one she loved. And to the very end, the male lead never once looked at her. From the start, the whole setting put the villainess at a disadvantage...
Determined to find out more about the book, Y/N looked up the novel, but strangely, this book didn't seem to exist on the web. How is that possible? Was everything deleted? Or.. did it even exist?
Days past and Y/N read the book over and over again, countless times.
"It's hopeless... there's nothing on the book at all!! Curse you mysterious author!! Leaving the ending like this..."
Overdosed from caffeine and body too tired to continue, Y/N L/N died, a few days after receiving the strange parcel.
