Chapter 27: Chapter 25: Revelations

I'll save the villainess! (GL)Words: 5606

Those two cats... the first user's familiars? And the figure that laid there... it's the first user...

How could Y/N know about her?

Is she...

A user too?

"Shiro, Kuro, welcome to the family."

The two cats purred.

"Y/N... are you..."

Shit. I forgot she was there...

"Alisa... It's a little hard to explain..."

"Y/N, are you a user?"

I froze. She knows?

"You... you're a user too?"

She nods.

How is that possible? Isn't she the main protagonist of the novel? She isn't supposed to be a user, right?

I stare at Alisa's widened eyes. There isn't a mistake, she's a user too.

"How did you...? Are you even-"

"Yes, I'm from this world."

So she knows about the alternate worlds too..

"I died. A system then gave me the chance to turn back time and restart all over again."

The system... it can turn back time too? Just how powerful is it?

So far, I only know four users including myself.

I died in my original world and was reincarnated here.

Blair was summoned using some dark magic ritual.

B/N supposedly came here the same way I did.. apparently after me.

Alisa turned back time and restarted from a certain point.

Now there are supposed to be six users in total.

One of them still remains a mystery though...

Just then, the ground started shaking. What happened?

"Y/N, we'll discuss about this later. We have to get out first...!"

I nod.

"Master, we can teleport you closer to the exit."

Shiro says.

Both cats' start glowing. We teleport to the exit, and quickly run out of the dungeon.

We made it..

"N/N...!"

I was suddenly tackled to the side by a blurred figure.

"Elise...? Blair too?"

Blair stood behind Elise, arms folded. Elise remained with her hands around my waist and head buried deep in my neck.

"After we opened that door, we were teleported outside the dungeon. We couldn't get back on."

Blair explains.

I look back down at Elise. She must've been worried sick. I was stuck in that dungeon for a few hours...

After she got off, she bombarded me with questions regarding the dungeon.

I had to come up with some excuse like 'encountering some boss' while trying to get out... she shouldn't know about the system just yet.

While all this was happening, a certain figure stood not too far away, gazing at me.

Y/N is a user. And she isn't from this world. I did find it weird when I heard she was able to foretell the future. The original servant of Lady Elise didn't have such an ability.

To think another user had been hiding under my nose for such a long time.

I knew she was different, but this news is surely shocking.

The person I had taken interest in... What a coincidence that it had to be a user.

"Miss Alisa."

Oh. Prince Leonas...

"What did you need, your highness?"

"An explanation."

Ah, right...

"There was merely an interference while we were exploring the dungeon. No more, no less."

He narrowed his eyes. He's suspicious of me.

He sighs and turns away before going back to his partner.

I don't plan on telling him the truth, of course. He would've already found out himself.

Alisa is hiding something from me again. I swear that girl is so secretive.

Back before we died, she used to be such an innocent girl, it's really unfortunate that I never liked her guts in the first place.

Our previous life obviously didn't work out. This time, there are more users around us.

[Host, there are a total of six users.]

I took out my notebook and took down the new information I had.

The numbers sure have increased. It used to be just us four...

The first died.

The second missing.

The third is Alisa.

I am the fourth.

As for the other two, I need to find out their identities fast.

I stare at the journal in my hands.

The titles. Each user had a title. I flipped over to the next page of the book.

The commoner.

The Tyrant.

The Saint.

The Prince.

The Saviour.

The Knight.

Those are the existing titles as of now.

I stare at the title of the fifth.

A saviour?

Truly... fascinating.

I've had my suspicions, but it seems that they've been proven true.

Y/N L/N is the fifth user.

"N/N, are you sure you're alright?"

"Yep. I fine, there's no need to worry, Elise."

"If only I was there to protect you..."

It really only makes me feel more guilty for lying to her like that... she seems genuinely worried...

"Elise, I promise I'm fine."

"If you say so..."

She really did look like a puppy with drooping ears.

I sigh.

I drag her away, turning a corner before pushing her against the wall.

"...?!"

I kissed her.

She seems surprised despite it not being our first.

"Elise, I promise I'm alright."

She nods, slightly happier.

"Let's get going then."

She nods and follows behind.

"Y/N. Can we talk?"

Oh, it's Alisa....

"Of course."

I look towards Elise and tell her to go ahead without me. She reluctantly leaves.

"Y/N, about the system..."

I nod.

"Let's head to a more secluded space."

We both head to her dorm.

"So.. you aren't from this world, aren't you?"

"I'm not."

"I see.. Well, can you tell me more about yourself? I mean, back in your original world."

She wants to know about that?

"I lived in a world called Earth. Everyone there existed without magic. I was 28 when I died from a caffeine overdose... and I ended up here."

"Did anything peculiar happen before you died?"

The novel.. the book. This entire world is a story. Could I really say that?

I stare at her for a moment.

"What I'm going to say might sound ridiculous..."

"The fact that the system exists is ridiculous. Go on, shoot your best shot."

"This world... is a story."

"What?"
