It's been a week since the death of my sister. My life had been dull ever since. The results of the autopsy came back, she died due to a caffeine overdose.

I don't understand... everyone leaves me.

The house we lived in felt cold and foreign, little of her warmth lingering.

That morning, I noticed she hadn't left her room yet, and figured she overslept. She lost her job the other day, and found a new one... maybe she was just exhausted from the changes happening.

I knocked three times on her door, no reply. Well, shouldn't be too weird... she is a heavy sleeper, after all.

Twisting the doorknob to enter the room, I was only met with her cold, lifeless body collapsed on the floor. Her room was messy, unlike her person. She was the type to clean her room often...

The lights were dimmed, only a small lamp on the desk where she usually did her work at illuminated the small space around it.

"Sis...ter...?"

The air was thick at the moment, I felt myself struggling to gasp for air. My gaze fell on my sister's body, pale — too pale. It lingered on her hand, one that used to bring me warmth, to the other parts of her body, and finally, her face.

I covered my mouth, the back of my throat hurting as my eyes widened. My knees buckled as I fell backwards, a sour taste rising from my throat.

She's dead.

"My condolences, B/N... your sister, she was such a sweet child..."

"No, it's alright, sir... I'm sure she'll forever be in peace now,"

A week later, her funeral had been arranged. I walked towards the mirror, adjusting my tie. Still, it wasn't as good as when she did it...

My eyes dulled, half-lidded and tired from nights of living in the home where she passed. The loneliness of the place haunted me constantly.

Her room, I kept it locked up tight. I never entered it again after the incident, it would only remind me more of her.

I headed outside, faced with the numerous guests who came to attend the funeral. I knew most of them as my sister's friends, colleagues and our neighbours... a few relatives also in the crowd.

As I stood in front of them, their faces remained blurry to me. I glanced at the black and white portrait of my sister, before turning back to the guests.

"I appreciate everyone for attending my sister's funeral... it's a very unfortunate incident that happened to us... even still, I'd like to thank you all for coming,"

...

"She was a wonderful person, and an even better sister. She had gone through many hardships in life, and persevered until the end. When I think of her, only her warmth and kindness comes to mind. Her smile even during her hardest times, hiding her tears from her own family..."

...

"You loved lazing around, but couldn't do it to your heart's content while you were alive... You must be tired, then... please, rest well. You deserve it... I love you,"

A month later, I'd decided to finally move out of that place. I did the familiar routine of knocking on her door, three times.

One.

Two.

Three.

I entered her room for the first time in a while, and it was left in the state I last remembered it.

I began packing up, items she used would be donated to charity, it's probably something she would've done... I couldn't keep them in the same room as I anyways.

I head towards her desk, finding a weird looking book on it. I recalled seeing her with it, focussing on each and every word on its pages not too long before her death.

I flipped it open, glancing through the pages of the tale. It was a rather unique story, though the last few pages were scrapped...

I placed the remainder of her belongings in the boxes, sealing them up. Grabbing that one book, I placed it in my bag to keep. If it's something she had close to her death... I might learn something.

It was weird, there's no information on the book at all. Was this what she was so interested in finding out before her death?

The character that stood out to me... the prince.

Right before the ending, he was about to inherit the crown...

I read through it once again, this time.. there was an extra page attached to its back.

"The prince never was able to lay his hands on the crown he worked so hard for because he died getting a concussion from a potato five minutes before the ceremony"

Excuse me?

"What, you don't like the ending? Do you want to change it?"

Of course! I call complete and utter bullshit- what do you mean he died because of a concussion from a potato five minutes before he-

I got reincarnated...

I became the son of the rich nobility family, Albericht. I trained in the arts of swordsmanship to become a knight.

I soon learnt my sister had also come to this world, and is one of the characters here... I should find her.

Besides that, my main mission given by the system is to prevent the death of the prince by potato.

Years later, I was selected by the Prince to become his sword, staying by his side as his personal knight! Well done, me.

The Prince, Leonas, was a total red flag. With his good looks, he easily charmed most people around him, including me...

While he was cold to others, his entire personality changed around me. He spoiled me often, buying me things and clinging to my side like a little puppy... it was adorable.

At the age of sixteen, he begun attending the academy. I continued my training as a knight in order to serve Leonas better. He whined about it for a while before I promised to join him in the second half of the year.

After completing my knight training, I'd join the academy during the day of the school dance. There, I finally saw my sister again...

She too, was here to save someone... the villainess. Us siblings are too alike. For the both of us to be given a second chance at life, and to meet again so soon...

I can now be assured.
