“It’s too late now, will you rest with me?” asked Victoria quietly.

Dolores nodded her agreement.

She took off her jacket and shoes. Then, she lay down with Victoria.

Victoria put a blanket over Dolores’ body. Dolores looked at her, “When I first saw you, I knew you were different.”

Victoria was different from the other concubine she had encountered before. Indeed, different.

Victoria touched Dolores’ forehead and tucked her forehead hair behind her ears, “I wish I had a daughter.”

Now she was satisfied that her son could marry a virtuous woman.

Dolores smiled, her brow was very pretty. She acted coquettishly toward Victoria, “Just make me your daughter then and give me all your love.”

“Yes, yes, just take all my love. I’ll give you Matthew too.” Victoria smiled, but tears came to her eyes.

“Do you know why it was arranged for me to marry Matthew when I was a girl?” Dolores asked suddenly. She asked Jessica once, but Jessica said nothing. Victoria wouldn’t tell her the reason now either.

That night was a normal night. It was quiet, but Dolores didn’t sleep.

She had stayed awake for a whole night, as had Victoria. Victoria only pretended to sleep soundly.

In the morning, Kevin prepared breakfast and sent them toiletries. After washing their faces and brushing their teeth, they went to the anteroom.

Kevin knew they must have had a great conversation yesterday judging by their appearance, “It’s the first time I’ve seen such a close relationship between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.”

Victoria did not show good manners toward him, “Don’t think the matter is over. If Dolores ends up in danger, I’ll kill you.”

Kevin owed Victoria a lot. This time, he didn’t rebut, “Yes, come sit down and eat. It will taste bad when it gets cold.”

He entertained Dolores by saying, “This is our signature meal here. You’ve been inside for a long time, now it’s time to taste the delicious dishes. Come on, eat some more.”

“Okay.” Dolores smiled and put a soy beverage in front of him, “Master, you should eat too.”

Kevin was a teacher to Dolores. Now that she knew his true identity, she respected him more.

“After lunch, we’ll come back,” Kevin said to Dolores. He looked at Victoria, “When are you coming back?”

Victoria felt uncomfortable. She chewed her food slowly. Kevin could see her mind at a glance, “Don’t you wish to visit the two children? What’s not to say? The children’s mother is here, isn’t that a small matter?”.

Victoria looked at Kevin and frowned, “What about Matthew, don’t you know his relationship with me?”

“You can let the teacher pick up the children with the excuse that I miss them. He can bring them here and you can take a look at them.”

“That’s a brilliant idea. You’re very clever.” Kevin smiled and looked at Victoria, “Can you eat now?”

Victoria smiled implicitly, she had some expectations and was very excited. She was a grandmother in the blink of an eye.

Sometimes, it was like a dream.

This period of peace was so real.

In the first half of her life, she had many regrets, but she only hoped that the days ahead would be peaceful and easy, without any obstacles.

After breakfast, when Kevin was about to pick up the child, Dolores came out, “I’ll go with you.”

“Are you worried about me?” asked Kevin.

Dolores shook her head, “No. If I don’t go, I’m afraid you won’t be able to pick them up.” Matthew would not agree to give the children to her.

She knew the man quite well.

Kevin opened the car door, “Let’s go.”

Dolores ducked her body and got into the car.

The car drove through the mountain and the morning fog slowly.

Because of the fog, the car drove very slowly. Therefore, they were late. They got out of the car and entered through the back door.
