âWhat are you doing?â
Theresa was still dressed in her wedding gown. She looked exceptionally beautiful today. Her delicate little face crinkled at that moment.
Armand told her the truth. She should have seen him anyway, âClose the door.â
âWhy do you want to close the door?â Theresaâs voice grew louder. She walked over to the door and wanted to open it. But before she could, she was dragged away by Armand, âWhat are you going to do? Tonight is our wedding night, do you want me to spend the night alone? I tell you itâs not possible.â
âYou⦠Argh!â
Before Theresa could say anything, she was taken by Armand by the waist. Theresa punched and kicked him, but Armand was undeterred and threw Theresa down on the big soft bed. He watched from a height.
He said as he unbuttoned his shirt, âI canât let the others see me as a joke. You canât go anywhere today.â Theresa was not a little girl who had never experienced the facts of life. She knew what Armand wanted to do when she saw Armandâs posture. But because she was very clear about what Armand wanted to do, she became nervous.
She shifted her body, âArmand, donât be impulsive.â
Not that she was reserved, but she was a little unprepared. After all, they were both drunk at the time, so they didnât feel awkward.
But this time was different. They were both clear-headed.
Despite their feelings for him, they had never been on a formal date.
Armand smiled, âYou donât have to be nervous. Iâll be nice.â
âArmand, give me a minute to get ready.â Theresa stirred and wanted to get up.
Armand bent down, grabbed her ankle and wrapped his waist around her leg. He lowered himself, âWeâre husband and wife now, what do you still want to think?â
âAr⦠Mm Mmâ¦â
Armandâs kiss drowned out Theresaâs words.
Outside the room, Boyce stroked Samuelâs head, âSamuel, youâve been too kind today. Armand hasnât suffered. You should make things harder for him to teach him the value of the precious.â
Samuel raised his head and looked at Boyce, âAre you jealous?â Boyce was speechless.
He raised his eyebrows, âWhy am I jealous?â
âBecause youâre the only one without a wife.â Boyce was speechless.
âYou brat, you dare to mock me.â Boyce pretended to want to pull Samuelâs ear.
Samuel reacted quickly and immediately walked away.
Dolores brought her daughter, and by the time they were ready to return to their room, Mistress Leslie had finished all business downstairs and came upstairs. When she saw Simona, her eyes narrowed, âThis girl is too pretty, just like her mother.â
As Mistress Leslie complimented her, Simona greeted Mistress Leslie with a smile, âHello, Mistress Leslie.â
Dolores quickly corrected her daughter. Family seniority would be spoiled if she called like that. She squatted down and said to her daughter, âI can call her Mrs. Leslie, and you have to call her Madame Leslie.â
Simona seemed to half understand and asked, âI have to call her Madame Leslie, is that correct?â.
Dolores nodded, âYes.â
Simona turned her head and looked at Madame Leslie. She spoke as sweetly as if she had brushed honey across her lips, âHello, Madame Leslie.â
âHello.â Madame Leslieâs heart was about to be melted by Simona. She took Simonaâs hand, âSimona, may I invite you to my room?â
Mistress Leslie was getting old. Although she didnât have to do anything for the wedding, she was still worried about a lot of things. She had just finished arranging things at the wedding venue. She was exhausted and wanted to rest. But in this place she didnât know, she wanted to find someone to talk to, but everyone seemed to be busy. She saw Simona and thought she was adorable and wanted to spend some time with her.
The older a person gets, the more afraid they are of loneliness.
âSure,â Simona replied without hesitation. She hugged Mrs. Leslie to go into the room. Dolores followed them as well. They werenât sure where Samuel and Boyce were playing at the moment. To see more of Dolores, Matthew also followed them into the room.
Dolores poured Mistress Leslie some water, âYou must be tired today.â
Mistress Leslie smiled, Armand could marry successfully, and it was okay to be a little tired. âIâm getting older with age, and Iâm no good for anything anymore.â
âYour body is still healthy. Youâre not old.â Dolores put the glass in front of Mistress Leslie.
Mistress Leslie took Doloresâ hand, âI hear Theresa is a good friend of yours.â
Dolores nodded sincerely, âWeâve known each other for a few years and weâre like family.â
Mrs. Leslie nodded, âArmand is not a bad boy. Someone hurt him and he couldnât get over it for a long time. Sometimes there were women by his side, but it was never serious. This time, Iâm glad he can get married. I also like Theresa quite a bit. She seems to be a very nice person. I just hope Armand doesnât get confused and can live his life with her. I will be satisfied if they can have a child like Simona after a year or so.â
Dolores did not realize that there was a hidden meaning behind Madame Leslieâs words. She thought she was only lamenting and comforted her by saying, âThey will be fine and have children too. Mrs. Leslie will be very busy at that time.â
Mrs. Leslie smiled, âI hope things turn out as you say.â
Matthew sat off to the side, reading financial news on his phone. He wasnât interested in these kinds of topics.
Mrs. Leslie was talking to Simona, âSimona, how old are you?â
âI am five years old, and I will be six after Chinese New Year,â Simona answered truthfully.
Mistress Leslie smiled, âTime has flown by.â
She hadnât heard from them before, and she had grown up a lot.
Dolores leaned back on the sofa to watch and listen as they talked.
Simona was chatty, too. She had a lot of strange questions for Mrs. Leslie, like, âMrs. Leslie, what does it mean to get married?â
Then Mrs. Leslie patiently explained, âGetting married is when a man and a woman decide to start a family together. Thatâs what marriage is.â
Simona rolled her eyes, âHas Mrs. Leslie ever been married?â
Mistress Leslie replied with a smile, âOf course, Iâve been married.â
âThen who did you marry?â asked Simona.
âIt is, of course, Armandâs grandfather.â
âWill I be able to marry when I grow up?â
After Simona asked this question, Matthew, who kept looking at his phone, raised his head. He looked at his daughter and his eyes turned somber. It was because Simona was still little, and he never thought his daughter would ever get married.
He thought no one deserved her. He wanted to have her by his side always.
Dolores could barely keep her eyes open. Finally, she didnât know how she had fallen asleep on the couch and heard Simonaâs voice through the haze of sleep. Their conversation, in short, was full of strange questions.
She had no idea how long she had slept, only that when she awoke, Simona and Mrs. Leslie were no longer in the room.
Leslie were no longer in the room.
âAre you awake yet?â Matthew carried a glass of water and made his way over to Dolores.
The air conditioner was on in the room, and the room was warm. However, the air in the room was dry, as was her throat. Dolores picked up the glass of water and drank some. Finally, her throat felt more comfortable, âHow long did I sleep?â.
Matthew looked down to check the time, âTwo hours.â
Dolores put down the glass, rubbed her eyes and sat up. Then, when she thought about Matthew taking her out on purpose, she asked, âYou took me out, was it because you wanted Sampson to show himself? But Sampson isnât stupid. He wonât show himself easily.â
Matthew sat down on the couch. He stroked Doloresâ hair, which was tangled in her sleep, âBecause I wanted to provoke him.â
It was definitely not an occasional occurrence for Dolores to run into Sampson at the mall. Only if he always knew her whereabouts could he show up in time and try to take her away again when she was alone.
So, that meant he was keeping a close eye on Dolores.
Sampson intensely wanted to take Dolores away because he admired her.
So, Matthew let Sampson see that he and Dolores were close to infuriate him.
This would encourage Sampson to take her away again quickly. Would he show up if Dolores was alone at the time?
