Theresa hesitated, “I…”

“You heard our conversation?” Armand showed a bad expression. He didn’t want the others to know about his past.

Theresa wanted to explain that she hadn’t heard him on purpose, but was frightened when confronted with his cold face. Without knowing why, she feared Armand would be angry, “I just came back, what do you say? Mistress Leslie asks me to asked somewhere else on purpose, are you talking about me?”

Armand showed a calmer expression, “Yes, she wants me to treat you well. By the way, why are you coming back without buying anything?”

“I left in a hurry, I didn’t have any money on me,” Theresa slipped out of his sight. She was uncomfortable and embarrassed by her lie of a moment ago.

However, Armand thought she was embarrassed. He curved his lips and pulled the wallet out of his pocket, handed it to her, “Here you go.”

Theresa looked at him, “Just giving me 100 yuan is enough, you don’t need to give me the wallet.”

Armand looked at her and put the wallet in her hand, “We are a couple, mine is yours.”

Theresa looked at him, her fingers curled unconsciously.

Armand smiled, “Are you moved by this trivial matter? I haven’t given you all my property, you’re too much of a pushover.”

Theresa stared at him, “I want to leave now.”

“Agreed.”

Armand watched her leave, closed the door and walked into the living room. Just then his phone rang. He pulled out his phone and flashed Boyce’s name. He took the call. Armand spoke first before Boyce said anything, “Has the asshole died?”.

“He’s not going to die, he’s in the operating room now. How is Mrs. Leslie?” Boyce made this call with the goal of finding out Mrs. Leslie’s situation.

Armand pulled the chair next to the bed and sat down, “Nothing serious, just a small wound. The doctor says she can go home after an overnight observation.”

“Okay,” Boyce didn’t hang up the call after saying that, he had something to tell, but he stopped as he thought better of it.

“Say what you want, why are you so hesitant?”

“Actually, it’s Dolores who is asking me to make this call,” Boyce thought he should tell Armand after thinking about it for a while, “Dolores might think that the incident happened because of her. She’s worried about Mrs. Leslie. So she wants me to inquire about her situation by calling you.”

Armand knew the incident had nothing to do with Dolores.

No one expected Mistress Leslie to show up and Sampson to kidnap her.

Besides, Dolores risked her life to save Mistress Leslie.

“It has nothing to do with her, I know that clearly.”

“Very well, after we settle everything here, I will visit Mistress Leslie…”

“No need, everyone is exhausted after the incident. You should get a good rest and we have to leave tomorrow. It’s the end of the year. You’ve been gone a long time and you’ll have some explaining to do to the unit when you get back.” Boyce answered and hung up the call.

Armand pocketed the phone after hanging up the call, Mistress Leslie looked at him and asked, “Who called you?”

“It’s Boyce. He’s asking me about your situation. I told him you’re fine,” Armand covered Mistress Leslie with the blanket, “Let bygones be bygones, don’t tell Theresa about my parents’ affair.”

“She’s not oblivious,” Mrs. Leslie thought there was no need to hide it.

“It’s very embarrassing, I don’t want her to know,” Armand showed a bad expression.

He changed his expression every time his past was mentioned.

Mrs. Leslie thought it was not an embarrassing matter, it was not his fault, “So, you want to hide it forever? She’s your wife, she’s the one who has to get along with you forever. You have to trust her. It doesn’t matter whether she believes you or not, you have to have the right attitude. What is the worst part of a marriage? The worst part is mistrust.”

Although Mrs. Leslie was old, she was smart. She had lived a few decades, she knew everything.

“We’ll see. After I get ready,” Armand was reluctant to discuss the subject further. He purposely distracted the conversation, “You must be tired, right? Get a good rest.” Mrs. Leslie became concerned about his attitude, “You’re married, what do you want to prepare already, do you still miss Phoebe?”

“No, why are you mentioning her?” Armand thought Mistress Leslie was weird. She was talking about her parents and her first love, what did she want to do?

“Grandma, are you uncomfortable? If so, I’ll ask the doctor to come…”

“Are you cursing me?” Madame Leslie slapped Armand.

Armand lowered the volume, “Then why do you keep talking about the past?”

Mistress Leslie spoke seriously, “I care about you!”

Armand covered Mistress Leslie with the blanket, “I’m not a little boy anymore, I know what I should do. My big concern is your health.”

Mistress Leslie sighed and gave him a warning, “Armand, I’m telling you I like Theresa. No matter what happens in the future, no matter who you meet, you must not change your love for Theresa.”

“I know, don’t worry,” Armand didn’t worry much, Mistress Leslie was always like that.

She liked to scold.

After a while, Theresa brought some food and put it on the table, “I’m not familiar with this area, I went a little far to buy this.”

After putting the food down, she handed the wallet to Armand, “Your wallet.”

“Keep it for me,” Armand didn’t get it, he took the spring rolls she had bought and popped two into his mouth. She chewed a couple of times and swallowed.

He drank some water, “Stay here to keep my grandmother company, I have something to sort out.”

Theresa agreed.

When Armand left, Theresa adjusted her bed and took the porridge. Theresa sat in the chair and fed Mistress Leslie, “Have some porridge, Mistress Leslie.” Mistress Leslie smiled and opened her mouth.

She could move, but she just wanted Theresa to wait on her.

Theresa held out the porridge. She fed Mistress Leslie after making sure the porridge was not hot.

Theresa gave Mrs. Leslie a tissue to wipe her mouth. Mistress Leslie just lay there and didn’t move, she enjoyed being served by Theresa.

“Why do you think Armand went out?” Mistress Leslie asked.

Theresa commanded the table, “I don’t know.”

“Then why don’t you ask him?” Mrs. Leslie asked coyly.

Theresa didn’t mind so much, she didn’t even think about Mistress Leslie’s question. She tossed the bowl into the trash can, “Doesn’t he say he has something to work out? There must be something to deal with, he knows what he has to do. Don’t worry.”

Theresa thought Mistress Leslie was worried about Armand. She washed her hand and adjusted the bed so Mistress Leslie could rest, “I’ll stay here, you can call me if you need me. I should sleep now.”

Mistress Leslie was really tired after talking a lot. She was pleased with Theresa’s attitude.

She did not ask Armand’s whereabouts, she had to trust him completely.

But Armand concealed his affair and concealed it from her.

Mrs. Leslie could not help but sigh.

Armand left the room and pulled out his phone. He called Boyce.

The call was answered instantly.

“Where are you?”

“At the hospital,” Boyce felt uncomfortable, he had said he was saving Sampson on the previous call.

“I’m asking what hospital you’re at. I’ll see you now,” Mrs. Leslie was being attended to by Theresa, so Armand had some free time to get back at Sampson.
