He smiled and said, “I don’t tell lies.”

Dolores took a deep breath and said, “I’m so lucky to have you.”

Mathew kissed her long hair, “Do you want to be nicer to me?”.

Dolores wiped the corner of her eye and said, “Well then, I’m going to take a shower.” She hurried her clothes into the shower room in a jiffy.

Mathew smiled helplessly as he stood beside the bed, it looked like their romantic night together would be delayed again.

Simona woke up while Dolores was still in the shower, she still hadn’t had dinner and was hungry.

Mathew took her downstairs to find Coral.

“Hey, Simona’s awake.” Coral went over to her to take a look at her, she had just woken up and her cheeks were as red as a ripe apple.

“She’s hungry.” Mathew said nonchalantly.

“What would Simona like to eat?” asked Coral.

Simona had just woken up, so she was sleepy, all she knew was that she was hungry. “Anything tasty will do.”

“How about some meatballs in broth?”

“Um,” Simona said without realizing it.

Mathew took her to wash her face, to freshen her up so she would be more alert, less sleepy.

The girl refused to go down, clung to Mathew like an octopus, Mathew coddled her and kissed her cheek. “I wish your mother was more like you.”

“Mommy?” Simona looked left and right, “Mommy, where’s Mommy?”

“Your mommy went to take a shower.” Mathew wiped her face and said, “Come on, let’s go get some meatballs.”

Coral prepared some meatballs and an egg, she knew Simona had a sweet tooth when it came to food, so she put some ketchup and large shrimp on it.

That little girl had a very good nose, she smelled the fragrant aroma of the food as soon as she entered the room, she almost drooled, she touched her mouth and said, “I can smell all the delicious food.” Mathew was speechless.

That nose of hers.

Simona behaved well today, she served herself the food, Coral put a napkin in front of her, she used a spoon by herself.

Matthew peeled her shrimp next to her.

“Daddy, give me a bath tonight and cuddle me to sleep.” said Simona as she chewed her food.

Mathew sighed, his daughter felt wronged in the day and now she wanted to be taken care of. Now if Dolores asked, he would certainly agree to it.

“Prawn.” Simona opened her mouth for Mathew to shove the peeled shrimp into her mouth.

On the other hand, compared to the ups and downs of the villa, Armand and Theresa considered themselves quiet, as there weren’t many people in the house, Mistress Leslie liked Theresa, and they got along well. However, because of their spontaneous wedding, their room was not yet ready.

Theresa felt that Mistress Leslie was giving her a hard time, usually when she wasn’t home, her room wasn’t particularly tidy.

“Find someone to renovate this place and buy some furniture.” Mistress Leslie took Theresa’s hand from her hand and shoved the card into her hand. “Buy whatever you want.”

Theresa declined, she couldn’t take money from an old lady, although she wasn’t that rich, she had some savings in her account. She said, “I can pay for whatever I want to buy.”

“You got married hastily, the new room is not ready for you yet, the bridal shower, gifts and ceremony are not ready either, I know you don’t want this, but I insist.” Mistress Leslie was reasonable, “This money is Armand’s, I can’t finish spending it myself, so I hoarded it.”

Mistress Leslie leaned into Theresa’s ear and said, “It’s not a small amount, if you’re not used to living with an old lady, you can buy a place you like, move in and live with Armand.”

“I’m not moving out.” Theresa had no idea why she felt inexplicably sour, she was so old and kept putting his needs before hers, why would she be selfish and leave Mistress Leslie alone here.

“I feel like we are family, we should live together.” Theresa answered truthfully.

“I don’t want to cause trouble for you young people…”

“Not at all.” Theresa replied quickly. “I know you want what’s best for us.” She turned her head to Armand, who had finished unloading the luggage. “Don’t you agree? From now on, we’ll live with Grandma.”

“Oh, sure.” Armand didn’t mind his mother commenting on his marriage now, besides, Theresa had also distracted Mrs. Leslie and wouldn’t nag him all the time. Living together will harmonize them to be together, “I’m tired of being in the car all day, I’m going to retire to my room first, you both should sleep early too, tomorrow we will go to the mall.” Mrs. Leslie did not want to be a third wheel.

She yawned and said, “I am old and get sleepy easily.”

“We should go to sleep too,” Armand took Theresa’s hand and walked towards the room, it was a typical men’s room, full of dark colors, it didn’t convey any warmth, there was a desk by the window, stacked with some law books.

“You can decorate this place however you want in the future.” Armand told her.

Theresa nodded, “This color is too unwelcoming, I think it needs some warmth to give this a homey feel.”

“Does Grandma look tacky to you?” asked Armand.

Theresa thought about it, the last few interactions with Mrs. Leslie had been pleasant, it was reasonable; however, she had been keeping a close eye on her and Armand. She understood that Mistress Leslie had only one son, it was normal for her to put all her attention on him.

“Now you don’t feel that it bothers you, later on you will feel that it curtails your freedom.” Armand hugged her against his chest.

Theresa pushed him away, “how can you dislike your grandmother, would you believe me if I told on you?”.

Armand leaned into her, breathing in her face purposefully, “How would you tell on me?”

Theresa took a step back, “Old people can be needy sometimes.”

Armand smiled and said, “You’re a good wife.” He knew she wanted to take care of her grandmother.

He learned forward, more this time, “I have an idea, let’s distract Grandma from us.”

“What, what are you thinking?” Theresa was speechless, at that point she had already been pushed to the side of the bed.

He leaned into her ear, “We’ll have a child to pass the time, then she’ll leave us alone.”

“I…I don’t want to…” Theresa didn’t push him away. Her clothes were scattered on the floor; after a while, Armand said, “I’m serious, let’s make a baby.”

Theresa was curled up in his arms, she was tired now, her eyes half closed, she said in a soft voice, “I don’t want to give birth.”

As far as she was concerned, now was not the time, she knew that Mrs. Leslie really wanted children. But her relationship with Armand was not stable enough to have children yet.

Armand turned on the night lamp and turned to her. “Why not?”

Theresa’s eyes widened, she can’t be too direct about the relationship between the two of them, they just got married, their feelings for each other hadn’t been established yet, so there would be no children in the picture.

However, since they were already married, it sounded hypocritical not to have children.

“I’m still young, so I want to wait to give birth.” She said purposely.

Armand touched her face, indeed, she was young, as long as she used a little strength, a baby would come out.

He turned off the night lamp and said, “Let’s wait then.”

“Armand, I don’t want this anymore.” Theresa pushed him, “You don’t, but I do.”

“Uh…”

The room looked haunted.

Armand hired a caretaker to attend to Mistress Leslie at home, by the time Armand and Theresa awoke it was almost ten in the morning.

The two newlyweds tossed and turned in bed all night and did not wake up in the morning.

Mistress Leslie knew this situation very well, so when she saw Armand and Theresa’s relationship blossom, she was relieved and happy.

“Let’s eat as soon as possible and go to the furniture store afterwards.”

“I have to go to the office today.” Armand has been out of his office for a few days, and he needs to go to check everything.

“Grandma…” Theresa would also like to take a look.

Mrs. Leslie waved her hand, “She’s not going anywhere today, except furniture shopping with me, Theresa is new to the family, so we need new furniture, especially for her room, it needs to be rearranged. It’s almost the new year, if we’re not going to tidy up the room, we should at least buy furniture first, it should at least look like a new house, you only get married once, Theresa is not picky, but we should do it.”

Armand took a sip of his milk, “I’ll follow Grandma’s instructions.”

He shot a glance at Theresa, indicating that old lady was very bossy and liked to scold.

Theresa glared at him. “Eat your food.”

Armand smiled and said, “I’m obeying you.”

Armand drove Mrs. Leslie and Theresa to the B-Town furniture mall.

Armand got out of the car and opened the door for them. “Theresa.”

Armand heard a very familiar sound after he opened the door, he looked back and saw Phoebe standing behind him.
