“Lola…” Jessica Lennon clasped both her hands as she felt a little panic inside. She hadn’t expected Dolores Flores to come home.

Although Dolores didn’t say anything, she knew why Dolores had come today.

“Come and sit down,” off to the side, Randolph Flores greeted them warmly.

Dolores sat down and looked up at Randolph, “If I hadn’t married Matthew Nelson, would you have remarried my mother?”

Randolph’s look changed instantly, but quickly returned to normal, “What are you talking about? Even though your mother and I divorced before, we still have feelings for each other.”

Dolores scoffed, “Really?”

“Of course,” Randolph sat down across from Dolores and pulled Jessica, who was standing, as he sat down. He let her sit next to him.

“If you don’t believe me, you can ask your mother.” Dolores looked up at Jessica.

Jessica looked at her daughter as she sat down next to Randolph. “I still have feelings for your father….”.

“Have you forgotten how he treated you before? Have you forgotten how Jeremy died?” Dolores was angry. How could he really say he still had feelings for her now when he had hurt her like that before?

Was it because his pain wasn’t etched enough for her?

Did he want to do it all over again?

Matthew held his hands trembling with agitation.

Randolph was a little confused as he listened to them off to the side, “Who’s Jeremy?”

Dolores scoffed, “Why, didn’t he tell you?”

“Lola!” Jessica suddenly stood up and intentionally interrupted Dolores. She scolded in a deep voice, “Can’t you see I’m doing well? The reason I remarried your father was because I still love him. It’s as simple as that.”

She just wanted Randolph to know on her deathbed that she had a son before she made him suffer and regret it!

Yet she felt so agitated now just because of Randolph.

Her lips trembled slightly, “Are you really and truly going to marry him again?”

“Yes, I’m serious!” Jessica didn’t dare look into Dolores’ pain-filled eyes.

“Okay, okay, okay, okay. do what you wish!” Dolores stood up, “Just pretend I never came here today.”

After speaking, she quickly left the villa. Matthew followed her.

Jessica was still worried about her, so she followed them.

She knew she had really hurt Dolores after today.

She definitely must be really hurt right now.

“I think she needs to calm down,” Matthew looked at Jessica.

Jessica stood still and lowered her eyes. She felt guilty and couldn’t look anyone in the eye, “I’ll have to ask you to take care of her from now on.”

“She’s my wife, so of course, I won’t let her feel sad,” His voice was very deep and low, “You can tell me if you have any difficulties. I can help you…”

“I don’t have any difficulty,” Jessica still didn’t say anything.

No one could help her as Jessica was not willing to say anything.

So far, Matthew kept thinking that Jessica must have her own reasons for doing so.

She just wouldn’t say.

After Matthew looked at her, she turned around and got into the car. Dolores leaned against the window and said nothing. She looked like she had taken a big hit. She thought things could still change, but Jessica let her know she was thinking the impossible.

This could not change.

He could not persuade Jessica. It was clear that she was determined to continue living with Randolph.

Whatever she said wouldn’t change anything.

Matthew could not use words to comfort her in this matter. He could only hold her hand and silently comfort her.

Dolores wiped the corners of her eyes, “I’m fine.”

She was too shaken.

“It’s okay as long as she’s happy,” she actually still cared about her. She couldn’t change Jessica’s mind, so she could only force herself to accept it.

When the car pulled up to the gate, Matthew saw the car parked outside the gate. His eyebrows furrowed instinctively.

Dolores also recognized the parked car. It looked… she and Matthew looked at each other.

They both understood.

Once they parked the car, they pushed the car door open and got out.

Matthew looked a little somber as he pushed the door. Thomas was sitting on the couch in the living room. As soon as he heard the sound of the door, he looked toward it. When he saw it was Matthew, he stood up, “Young man.”

“What’s wrong? It’s so late already,” she asked randomly, but deep down she knew there must be something. Otherwise she wouldn’t have come.

To be exact, Jayden Nelson wouldn’t let him come if there was nothing.

“Isn’t it early in the new year? Old Master said you should bring the children to celebrate the new year,” Thomas pretended not to see Matthew’s somber face.

He smiled as he spoke.

“The previous years we didn’t even celebrate together,” Matthew helped Dolores take off her coat and let her into the room.

However, Dolores ignored him to enter the room. Instead, she looked at Matthew and said, “How about we go?”

“I couldn’t give Samuel and Simona the full family they always longed for. We shouldn’t deprive them of it, now that they can have it, what do you think?”

Dolores knew Matthew had a problem with Victoria Forbis. She couldn’t convince him if she didn’t talk about the two children.

Matthew pursed his lips.

Dolores continued speaking, “I know you have a problem with her, but you shouldn’t deprive the two children of meeting their grandfather.”

“It’s just, it’s just that Old Master is getting older now. He’s supposed to enjoy happiness at family gatherings. In the previous years, you were alone. So Old Master didn’t want to force you too since you didn’t want to go. But this year is different,” Thomas agreed.

Matthew still disagreed.

Dolores sighed – why was this man so stubborn?

“So, should we ask the two children’s opinion and let them decide on their own whether we should go or not?” Dolores said intentionally.

Because she knew that the two children would definitely be willing to go. It wasn’t because they had feelings for Jayden. It was because the two children longed for family and family members, meaning dad, mom, grandpa and grandma.

The more you lack something, the more you long for it.

They lacked a lot of love since childhood.

Although they could not make up for what they lacked in their childhood now, they could make them feel the warmth and atmosphere of a normal family.

The new year would be the perfect time for a family reunion.

“You just have to agree,” Dolores tugged on his hand.

“What if I don’t agree?” He narrowed his eyes slightly.

Dolores’ attitude was totally unexpected.

She kept saying it was because of the children, but he could sense that she really wanted to convince him to go there.

She also seemed not to hate Victoria.

She always wore the bracelet Victoria had given her.

Both his hands instinctively clenched.

Dolores bit her lips and suddenly decided, “If you don’t accept, I won’t give you any more children in the future.”

She walked away after speaking.

Thomas was stunned for a while and then let out a chuckle. He felt that he liked the character the young lady had.

Not many people dared to get angry and threaten the Young Master.

She was one of them.

Matthew looked at him coldly and Thomas shut up immediately. He didn’t even dare to look around.

“Well…”

“I’ll take them there tomorrow,” Matthew said coldly. Then he looked at him, “It’s already too late. Hurry up and come back now.”

“Okay,” Thomas was glad since Matthew agreed. It would also be easy for him to report once he returned. However, it was mainly because he found it interesting.

Dolores actually threatened Matthew.
