.
Boyce told the bartender to bring him a clean glass and poured the alcohol, âWhy donât you tell me about it.â
Matthew gave him a sidelong glance, âSince when did you become such a gossip?â.
Boyce sighed, âI was thinking since itâs almost New Yearâs, I was thinking the three of us could get together and talk to you about Sampson, who knew Iâd see Armand drinking alone in depression for a lot of trouble, I thought it would be good for you to come, how was I to know you werenât in a good mood either?â
Matthew picked up the glass of alcohol Boyce poured him, drank it all in one gulp, loosened his shirt collar and set the glass of alcohol down hardâ¦. Dolores had brought the two children today.
He could clearly sense that Dolores and Victoria were very close.
It didnât seem like they had seen each other that many times, but they seemed very close.
That made him uneasy.
That they were so close would mean that they were secretly in touch.
But Dolores had never taken the initiative to mention about her and Victoria.
âBoyce, what should I do to get Theresa back?â Armand was quite drunk, he stood up swaying as he put his arm around Boyceâs neck, âShe was very determined to leave, I really donât know what I should do.â
Boyce frowned and spoke with disdain, âYou reek of alcohol, get away from me.â
The more Boyce said, the tighter Armand hugged him, âBeing in my arms is respectful to you, youâre so old, but you donât even have a wife, youâre even sadder than me.â
Boyce was speechless.
âIf it were me, Iâd leave you too.â Boyce made him feel worse.
Armand was sad, but he didnât resent him.
Normally he wouldnât leave him.
Boyce sighed, âLook at you, so affected, use your sincerity if you want to get her back, itâs best to talk it out clearly and draw a clear line with Phoebe, you must give her a sense of security.â
âWhat is a sense of security?â Armand stood up and patted his chest, âI have explained to her that Phoebe was only my first love and that we have broken up, that I havenât felt anything for her for a long time, but she doesnât believe me, I have told her that there is nothing between Phoebe and me, she doesnât believe me.â
âYou ran into Phoebe and she saw it?â Boyce asked.
It seemed to him that Theresa wouldnât have such a determined attitude for no reason.
Armand snorted, âPhoebe said she left me then because she couldnât have a child and didnât want to bother me, now sheâs back because she canât forget me, she kept asking me to be with her one nightâ¦â
âWhat?â Boyce pounded the table in annoyance, âArmand, do you have a brain, youâre married and youâve been with your ex-girlfriend for one night, are you crazy?â
âWe didnât do anything, we just stayed at her house overnight, I figured it wasnât her fault for leaving back then, so I caved.â Armand spoke softer and softer, he felt he had been wrong for that matter and that he should have warned Theresa.
âNow, how can I get her back?â asked Armand.
Boyce shrugged, âThereâs nothing I can do, but I think you should use sincerityâ¦â
Buzzâ¦
At that moment, Matthewâs phone rang inside his pocket, he pulled out the phone, seeing the caller ID on the screen, his eyes looked serious as he hit the accept button and put it next to his ear.
âItâs me.â
Matthew softly said yes.
âBring them by tomorrow at noon.â Matthew softly said yes again.
The other side hung up, then put down his cell phone as well.
Boyce looked at him, âYour uncle?â
Matthew didnât speak, he looked serious without saying anything, Boyce was quiet for a while, then he raised his hand to pour the alcohol, smiled and said, âEven if you donât like to take advantage of the Harris Family, and youâre not even willing to use the Harris Familyâs reputation for your convenience, he still treats you well, I donât understand what youâre worried about.â
âDolores and Victoria are closeâ¦â
At that moment the door to the room opened.
Matthew stopped talking and looked in, quietly leaning back to avoid the light, his whole face was in darkness.
The waiters wore the same clothes, lined up and placed the plates one by one on the table.
Finally, the waiter said, âCall me again if you need anything.â
Boyce waved his hand, âIâve got it, go away.â
The waiter bowed, left the room and closed the door.
Boyce thought about it and said, âBecause of your mother, that side and Jayden didnât get along for years, are you afraid Dolores and Victoria will become closer and be unhappy because of it?â
Matthew took a sip of alcohol, âI donât like them being that close either.â Somehow he felt that because of Victoria, Joleneâ¦.
If Jayden and Victoria werenât involved back then, how could he marry her a month after Joleneâs death, he couldnât help himself.
Even if he liked Vicotira, he wouldnât agree.
He had never been able to let go of that issue.
That meal was bland for Boyce, everyone had their own concerns, which made him feel oblivious, he had nothing to worry about and nothing to bother him.
When it was all over, Boyce sent Armand home, he was quite drunk, he probably wouldnât make it home if no one had sent him.
Armand wouldnât sit still in the car, he was moaning or tossing and turning, Boyce looked at him and sighed, âWhy are you so weak to alcohol, do you get like this only after a few drinks?â.
As if Armand didnât hear him, he shouted, âIâm sad.â
âWait.â Boyce was going to drive him home, thinking he had said Theresa was taking care of Mrs. Leslie, he thought Armand was so drunk he should let Theresa know it had all happened because of him.
He turned the car around at the intersection across the street, and drove to the hospital.
At the hospital, Mrs. Leslie had not yet regained consciousness, Theresa stayed by her side, not daring to leave, afraid that there would be no one to attend to Mrs. Leslie when she woke up.
Someone pushed the door to the living room, Boyce entered while holding Armand, Theresa rose from the chair, looked at Boyce and asked, âWhatâs wrong with him?â
âHeâs drunk.â Boyce glanced around the room, there was no place to sleep, the only place to lie down was a small two-seater sofa.
The VIP room was already very personalized, it had everything, it wasnât much different than a house, it was just a little small and had no bed in it.
âThe nurse said we can have an extra bed, Iâll ask them for an extra bed,â the couch was so small that Armand would have a hard time curling up on it.
Boyce thought Theresa was still very worried about him, so he nodded, âOkay.â
Theresa headed to the nursesâ station and asked for an extra bed, since they were in the VIP room, the restroom was also largeâ¦. Soon, someone brought a bed inside and placed it against the wall.
Boyce pulled it up, âIt looks thin, but itâs still pretty heavy.â
Theresa poured him some water and handed it to him, âWhy did you drink so much?â.
Boyce agreed and took two sips of the water, then paused for a moment before saying, âHeâs in a bad mood,â he looked at Theresa , âIt looks likeâ¦itâs because of you.â
Theresa turned away and lowered her head.
Boyce gently patted her shoulders, âArmand seeing Phoebe was really his lack of consideration, he cried and regretted it, how about you give him another chance?â
