The doctor seemed to be used to that scene and was calm as he asked the medical staff to push the hospital bed, âSend her to the operating room quickly.â
Armand gently positioned her and the doctor began to ask, âHow was the patient injured?â âBy an explosion.â
The doctor knew what to prepare for and entered the operating room after whispering to the assistant.
Armand wanted to follow him because he was in too much of a hurry.
The medical staff stopped him, âFamily members are not allowed in the operating room. Please wait outside.â
âNo matter what it costs. Please save her.â She stood near the door that was about to close and shouted toward the doctor.
The doctor heard what he said, but ignored him. As a doctor, he would certainly do his best.
Armand paused outside.
He felt like his world had collapsed and he didnât know what to do.
He paced back and forth in the hallway. Time was passing, but there was no movement inside. This made him anxious, morose and he could not calm down.
He knew it was useless to be anxious, but he still couldnât calm down.
Theresa has no family in China, only Dolores Flores was close. In case she became agitated when she came out and saw him, there was no one who could take care of her. So, she touched her pocket, but her phone had fallen out earlier. Just when he didnât know how to contact Dolores, he called out to a passing nurse, âCan I borrow your phone to make a call?â
The nurse looked at his miserable appearance, then pulled out his phone and handed it to him.
âThank you.â He took it, but at first he didnât call Dolores because he couldnât remember her phone number. He put it away in his phone, but he remembered Matthewâs.
She dialed Matthewâs number.
Matthew was at the company and was talking to Old Mr. Day, as the Day Family had faced a scandal that resulted in the loss of interest in their cooperation, so he had come all this way to apologize. There was a clause in the contract whereby the other party could terminate the contract as one who undermined his interests.
Old Mr. Day feared that Matthew would put an end to his cooperation, so he hurried to meet with him.
âI will settle this matter quickly. Donât worry, it wonât make too much of an impact at all.â He still looked lively and young, but a little tired from this incident.
Matthew spoke unhurriedly, âAs far as I know, the Day Group has already been affected to some extent due to this matter.â
âYes, please trust me that I will give you a solution as soon as possible.â
At that moment, Matthewâs phone on the table vibrated. He looked at it and said, âIâm going to take a call.â
After he finished saying, he walked out of the meeting room, stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling hallway window and answered the call.
âHello.â
âItâs me. Is Dolores there?â
âAre you looking for her for something?â he raised his eyebrows slightly.
âYes. Theresa ⦠sheâs in the hospital. Her fate is uncertainâ¦â Her voice was choked with sobs, âShe has no family in China. I think she might feel reassured if she sees Dolores.â
âWhat happened?â
âItâs a long story. I lost my phone and now Iâm borrowing someone elseâs phone. Now Iâm at the number 2 peopleâs hospital.â
Matthew understood, then hung up the phone, went outside and called Abbott Baron.
Abbott trotted over.
âTell Old Mr. Day I have something to do and weâll talk about it next time.â After giving him instructions, he entered the elevator and called Dolores. It sounded like something had happened when he heard Armandâs voice. It didnât seem right for Dolores to go to the hospital alone.
At the time, she was in kindergarten because Simona Flores had gotten into a fight with a child.
It started because Samuel Flores was kissed by a girl, then Simona directly pushed the girl when she saw her and shouted, âThis is my brother. How dare you kiss him.â
In her mind, only she was allowed to kiss her brother.
No other child was allowed to do so, as she considered that this girl was coming to steal her brother.
Therefore, he pushed the girl away in an overbearing manner.
Samuel was confused as life in the kindergarten was boring. He felt bored being surrounded by a bunch of kindergarteners all day.
Today, he even got kissed by someone during recess. He really felt he couldnât stay here any longer, or he would go crazy.
The little girl was pushed by her and bumped into a bench, and hit her head. The children here are precious. The teacher called the two parents and asked them to come to the school.
The girlâs mother came and got bossy: âSheâs not royalty and itâs just a kiss, right? Itâs no big deal. If you talk about who is bad, my daughter suffered more. Your daughter pushed my baby, look how she hit her head, tell me what to do!â
No matter what the cause was, Simonaâs action was really wrong. However, what the mother said was also unpleasant.
Before Dolores could say anything, Simona interrupted and said, âIsnât it just a kiss? Heâs my brother, are you allowed to kiss him?â
âSimona!â Dolores rebuked quietly.
âItâs supposed to be the truth.â She muttered under her breath.
However, the person in question, Samuel, was standing in the corner with an indifferent look on his face. Both the children and the kindergarten teachers, treated him well and always kissed his cheeks, so this distressed him.
He wished this issue was a big deal so he could stop coming to school.
âWhat does she know? Sheâs just a kid!â The woman shouted at Simona, âDo you know who her father is?â
Simona didnât understand what she meant and asked, âWho is her father?â
âThe vice-mayor of City B.â The woman said condescendingly, âIf you apologize now, I can still forgive you, otherwise Iâll have to tell his father and it wonât be so simple to solve then.â
Dolores frowned as she was dissatisfied with the womanâs attitude. Actually, this matter was not really serious and she also intended to let her daughter apologize, as it was really wrong for her to push the girl first.
She called Samuel.
âMom.â He walked over and the woman got a good look at his face. Though she was young, her gait was graceful with her straight body and exquisite features.
The woman patted her daughterâs shoulder, âYouâre so picky.â
The girl looked down shyly. She liked Samuel, who had just entered her class. She didnât know what affection and love were, she just thought he was cute and kissed him.
There was none of the messiness of the adult world.
âHe kissed me without my permission, which is disrespectful to me, so he had to apologize to me. Itâs my sisterâs fault since she pushed her. My sister will apologize to her after her daughter does. Now you apologize to me first.â Samuel said in a clear and unhurried manner.
The woman did not expect him to speak plausibly at such a young age.
âMy daughter kissed you because she thinks highly of you. Are you asking her to apologize? Are you dreaming? I havenât even asked you to apologize to her! Iâve checked every parent in this kindergarten. None of them have the power that your father has. It wonât do you any good if you escalate this matter. Iâll pretend it never happened if you obediently apologize now, otherwise â¦â
