âOr else what are you going to do?â Dolores looked at the aggressive woman. It was a minor matter, but the woman was trying to complicate it.
The woman snorted, âTrying to play dumb?â
Dolores frowned and said, âWhat can you do to us over this small matter, even though you have status and are powerful?â
The woman thought Dolores was crazy. That was the way the world worked, and it was never fair. Unlike in the past, people today are not divided by various grades and ranks. However, was it true that such a division no longer existed?
The woman looked at Dolores with disdain, and thought that Dolores was beautiful but thin and weak. The woman held her back erect and said, âWhat is the business your husband is running now? I will ask my husband to take good care of it.â
The woman deliberately said the words âlet him take good care of itâ of him with emphasis.
The people who sent their children to this kindergarten were rich, and so the woman asked the question.
Dolores knew that the woman was trying to threaten her and expressed her discomfort.
The woman was trying to abuse her power to intimidate Dolores.
The director of the kindergarten approached them at that time. He knew about Samuel and Simonaâs background, but the others did not. Jayden instructed that the two childrenâs backgrounds not be exposed, so only the kindergarten direct knew.
âI know what happened. The kids occasionally hold hands and hug when they play together. Itâs because they like each other, and liking is simple, unlike the âlikingâ of adults. I have been working in early childhood educational work for 30 years. I have also seen many such issues, and many of the parents have understood this. So I think for children to get along in the future, how about calming down, shaking hands and making peace?â The kindergarten director convinced her.
The woman scoffed, âMy daughter is the apple of her fatherâs eye. I donât want to pursue the matter, but the vice-mayor may not think so.â The woman bullied them with her husbandâs power.
âSo youâre the vice-mayorâs wife?â the kindergarten director wondered sophisticatedly. The vice-mayor was almost sixty years old, how come his wife and daughter were young?
It was illogical.
The womanâs eyes flashed guiltily for a moment, then she calmed down and said, âYou just need to know that sheâs the deputy mayorâs daughter.â
Samuel saved the womanâs video. He had started recording the womanâs video before the kindergarten director came. At first he just wanted to make the woman famous on the internet, but he thought it was not simple after hearing the kindergarten directorâs words.
There was something suspicious behind this.
Samuel grabbed Simona by the arm, âYou owe her an apology.â
Simona said reluctantly, âBut she kissed you first. Youâre my brother, only me, mom and dad can kiss you. How dare she kiss you, who does she think she is?â Simona was inclined to be possessive.
Samuel gave her a wink and said, âBe good, havenât you heard that her father is powerful? So we can only apologize to her.â
âButâ¦â
âDonât you trust me?â
Samuel interrupted her.
Dolores crouched down in front of Simona. Indeed, Simona had attacked the girl, and she was wrong regardless of the womanâs manner, âSimona, shouldnât we be reasonable for every matter? Gentlemen should reason the thing out instead of resorting to force, shouldnât they?â
âBut Iâm not a gentleman either. Iâm just a girl,â Simona blinked and said.
Dolores, ââ¦â
Dolores racked her brain to figure out how to convince Simona to apologize. Her phone in her pocket suddenly vibrated. She pulled the phone out of her pocket and answered the call. Soon she heard Matthewâs voice, âWhere are you?â
Dolores looked at Samuel and Simona and said, âIâm outside. Is something wrong?â
Matthew didnât know what had happened to her, but he didnât ask her about it. He said, âTell me where you are now. Iâll pick you up.â
Dolores took a breath and said, âIâm in kindergarten now.â
Matthew frowned slightly and looked at the time. It was not the childrenâs dismissal time. He wondered, âWhat is he doing in kindergarten now?â
Matthew turned the direction of his car at the intersection and drove toward the kindergarten.
It was a short drive, so it didnât take Matthew long to get to the kindergarten, and Dolores had left with the two children at that point.
Samuel said something in Simonaâs ear, then Simona apologized to the girl who kissed Samuel. Samuel also said he would not pursue the matter of the kiss any further.
Matthew walked over to them and lifted Simona up. Although Samuel convinced Simona to apologize to the girl, she was a little aggrieved in her heart. Simona thought she had done nothing wrong.
She felt aggrieved and put her arms around Matthewâs neck, and buried her face in his chest. Simona was obviously upset. Matthew looked at Dolores and then at Samuel, âWhat happened?â
There must be something that happened. If it hadnât, Dolores wouldnât be going to the kindergarten at this hour and Simona wouldnât be so upset.
âThatâs enough,â Dolores didnât want to bring it up since things had happened.
Samuel already had a plan in mind, and he could solve the problem himself without Matthewâs help.
Simona was the only one who wanted to tell Matthew the whole thing. She wanted him to affirm that he was doing things right.
âDad, am I wrong? Samuel is my brother, how can you kiss him? Itâs not like Samuel is her brother. I just pushed her gently. She was unsteady on her feet and hurt, and she still asked me to apologize.â
Simonaâs eyes were red as she spoke, and she felt wronged in her heart.
Matthew kissed her cheek and said, âItâs not your fault, and you donât need to apologize.â
He hugged Simona and went into the kindergarten, but Dolores stopped him. She had solved the problem and didnât want to cause trouble again. Dolores wasnât afraid of the woman, but she didnât want to tangle with that kind of person, âSimona has pushed someone, and it was her fault. How could she do nothing wrong?â
âShe didnât do it on purpose,â Matthewâs heart fluttered as he saw that Simona felt wronged. Simona was his beloved daughter-how could others bully his daughter in kindergarten?
Matthew said he would not bully others with power, nor would he allow others to bully his children.
âDonât worry. Iâve solved the problem,â Samuel said confidently.
Dolores looked at Samuel in mild astonishment, âWhat have you solved?â
Samuel smiled enigmatically and said, âYouâll know soon enough. Now itâs time to go home,â Samuel got into the car and sat down.
Dolores looked at Samuel and didnât know whether to laugh or cry. She didnât know if it was good or bad for Samuel to act like this. Dolores wanted to get Simona out of Matthewâs arms, âCome to mommy, let her take you. Letâs go home.â
âNo, I want daddy to take me,â Simona put her arms tightly around Matthewâs neck, and was afraid of being carried away by Dolores.
Matthew handed the car key to Dolores, âHere, take the wheel.â
Dolores took the car key and sat in the driverâs seat. Matthew carried Simona in the passenger seat while Samuel sat alone in the back seat. Samuel took the Appleflat out of his school bag and uploaded the video he had just recorded with his smartwatch, and posted it on many websites and entertainment media.
This kind of video could easily catch peopleâs attention. It had spread slowly without his propaganda. There were hundreds of comments that came up on the trip back home. There were many types of comments about the video.
Samuel scrolled through the screen over and over, saw the comments on every web page.
The car pulled into the driveway. Matthew got out with Simona in his arms, âWait for me in the car.â
Dolores wanted to ask him if something was wrong, but soon thought that Matthew wouldnât go to the kindergarten to pick her up if there was nothing there. Then she got a bad feeling.
Samuel entered the house and went straight to his room. Matthew looked at the closed bedroom door, and the corners of his mouth subconsciously turned up slightly. He had found out what Samuel had done in the car.
Matthew was amazed at Samuelâs intelligence and keen common sense, he was glad that Dolores had given birth to such an intelligent child.
âWhy are you back so early today?â Victoria came out of her study and walked over to them as she saw the two children.
Matthewâs smile gradually disappeared and replaced by a frigid look.
Victoria noticed the change in Matthewâs face and felt miserable about it. She lowered her gaze to cover her emotions, âSimona is back, come to me and let me hold you.â
She did not call herself a grandmother in front of Matthew as she feared Matthew would be unhappy about it.
Simona held out her little hands to go into Victoriaâs arms.
Matthew had to accompany Dolores to the hospital, so he handed Simona to Victoria.
Dolores rested her chin on one hand. She saw Matthew approaching and asked, âWhy are you looking for me, did something bad happen?â.
Matthew opened the car door and got in, âTheresa is in the hospital.â
