âDonât make a fuss, all the evidence is headed your way now. Itâs impossible to release you before clearly investigating.â The police officer questioning her saw that she was having a hard time. The police also thought this was an excuse to avoid questioning or an attempt at discomfort so they could release her on bail.
She could not be released on bail based on her current situation.
Dolores was so uncomfortable that she did not want to talk anymore.
The recording policeman patted his colleague standing next to him, âYouâd better stop the interrogation. Send her to the infirmary.â
âShe canât go in, thereâs an interrogation going on inside.â At that moment there was a commotion at the door.
Boyce knew the place and burst in with his gun.
âBoyce, do you know what youâre doing?â the policeman who was in charge of the interrogation looked at Boyce.
Boyce gave him a stern look and didnât pay much attention. He must have been thinking about the consequences since he dared to barge in. As long as he didnât really hurt anyone, there was no bigger problem than being fired.
His gaze landed on Dolores, âDolores, are you okay?â
Dolores shook her head, she was weak and limp.
Boyce quickly walked over and assisted her, âAre you uncomfortable?â
Dolores nodded her head and didnât know if it was from drinking the wine, so her stomach was uncomfortable. Now her lower abdomen ached as well.
âLet me take you to the hospital.â Boyce helped her up as Officer Sharp rushed to block their exit.
âMiss Flores is now a suspect. You are not allowed to take her.â
âGet out of the way!â Boyce pointed his gun violently at her, âGet out of the way immediately! Otherwise, donât blame me for being rude to you!â
Officer Sharp was not intimidated, but stepped forward and leaned his forehead against Boyceâs gun. He was sure Boyce would not shoot him.
âBoyce, now Miss Floresâ guilt is undetermined and still under investigation. If she goes with you today, I fear it will even be disadvantageous to her. You can put your own future at risk, but can you also put Miss Floresâ life at risk?â
Dolores grabbed Boyceâs arm and pulled back her gun. She couldnât let Boyce get into this trouble.
âIâm fine. Even though Iâm being investigated, Iâm still worried about my life. You go first.â
âButâ¦â
âBut what, Iâm asking you to leave. Whatâs the benefit of getting you into this trouble?â interrupted Dolores.
It was clear that they were seeking to incriminate her in this affair.
It was useless for Boyce to create such a stir.
There was no point in taking her out.
As long as there was no evidence to prove that she hadnât killed anyone, she couldnât get out of this trouble.
âBut your current state.â Boyce was worried.
Dolores shook her head. Her forehead was already beaded with sweat while her lips were dry. If Boyce hadnât held her, she might not be able to stand up.
âLeave her with me. Iâll send her to the hospital.â Officer Sharp was solely responsible for the case. He knew Doloresâ importance and would not let her be in danger.
Boyce looked at Officer Sharp.
âNow, the case is not yet tried. Miss Floresâ guilt is still undetermined. Since she is not well, we will not rightfully ignore it. Rather, Boyce, if you continue to argue with me, it will only delay Miss Floresâ treatment.â Boyce understood Officer Sharpâs point.
Now he could not take Dolores away at all. Even if he did, she would still be arrested as long as the case was not finished.
At that moment, Doloresâ legs went limp and her whole body collapsed.
Boyce instantly lifted her up holding her by the waist.
He looked at Officer Sharp, âIâm taking her to the hospital. Follow me, Iâm not taking her.â
Officer Sharp nodded, âIâll drive and pick her up.â
Armand waited anxiously for Boyce at the door. Boyce worked at the police station and would only make one mistake even if Boyce broke in. He was different, however, since breaking in would be considered a violation of the law.
He and Boyce had agreed that he would wait outside while Boyce went in to get Dolores out.
He was worried because Boyce had been in for a while but had not yet come out.
Just when Armand could wait no longer and was about to go in, Boyce came out carrying Dolores in his arms.
Dolores came out in his arms, what had happened?
Armand rushed over, âWhatâs going on, whatâs wrong with Dolores?â
âNo time to explain. Send her to the hospital first.â Boyce said urgently.
âIâll drive the car.â
Armand pulled and opened the car door hurriedly.
Officer Sharp had someone drive the police car. He looked at Boyce, âIâd better go with my car.â
Armandâs expression changed instantly as he grabbed Officer Sharpâs collar.
âStop it.â Boyce stopped him, âNow, the most important thing is to get Dolores to the hospital.â
Armand reluctantly let go of him.
He carried Dolores and climbed into the car. Officer Sharp sat in the passenger seat and the car soon pulled away.
âWhere is he?â said Dolores in a weak voice.
Boyce somehow hugged her to make her more comfortable, âHeâs gone to the Harris Family. Iâm afraid this affair has a lot to do with Jeffery.â
Boyce knew about the relationship between Matthew and Jeffery, this timeâ¦.
It was impossible for Dolores not to know. Her eyelashes fluttered slightly, coating with watery tears.
She said hoarsely, âHeâll be in a quandary.â
