Sean looked into her smiling eyes and shifted his gaze downward.
She stepped onto the carpet in bare feet, exposing half of her calves. Feeling uncomfortable, Chloe couldnât help but pull her legs back and asked in a fierce tone, âWhat are you looking at?â
Sean didnât get angry, but withdrew his gaze and looked at her. He said ponderingly, âDoes your heart belong to someone else? I know youâre a picky person, so whoâs the lucky one?â
Sean asked knowingly.
Chloe turned around, walked to her bed, put on her slippers and pretended not to have heard what he had just said.
Eddie told her that she couldnât reveal this to anyone yet.
Thatâs why he couldnât answer Sean.
Sean walked in and closed the door behind him.
Chloe gave him a sidelong glance but didnât find it awkward that the two of them were in the same room. When they were teenagers and went to school, they even drank from the same water bottle.
She sat down in front of her dressing table and combed her hair. Looking in the mirror, she asked Sean, âWhy are you like this, is there something wrong with you?â
âCanât I look for you even if thereâs nothing wrong?â Sean sat down on the corner of the dressing table, put his arms around his chest and looked at Chloe. âWhoâs the guy youâre interested in?â continued to ask Sean.
Chloe looked up at him, âWhy do you want to know?â
Suddenly, she narrowed her eyes warily and looked at Sean, âWhat do you know?â. If he didnât know anything, why did she keep asking him that question?
âWhat do I need to know, why do you ask?â Sean smiled and asked.
Chloe looked him up and down, and down and up. âYou donât seem like the kind of person who would get to the bottom.â
Sean looked at her fondly, âYou know me so well? Youâve fallen in love with me, havenât you?â.
Although she was familiar with Sean, he had never looked at her with such affection. Chloe froze for a second before turning her head and saying disdainfully, âTsk, are you still dreaming? Itâs broad daylight outside, have I fallen in love with you, are you kidding me? Youâre not even my type.â
Sean smiled and teasingly said, âYou havenât tried it before, how do you know Iâm not your type?â.
Although Chloe was still inexperienced, she knew what he meant. She blushed instantly. No matter how thick her skin was, she was incapable of competing with a man.
âIâm tired and Iâm going to sleep. You can go now.â Chloe tried to shoo him away.
She rolled into her bed and hid under the blanket.
Sean didnât leave, but stood by the bed. When filming with the crew, he had a habit of preparing emotions before going into a particular role.
Then, he would only let the director start shooting when he felt he was ready for the role.
No matter how good his acting skills were, he had at least tried it out beforehand. Otherwise, he wouldnât be famous at this point.
When he felt he was ready, he sat on the side of the bed and spoke in a deep voice, which contained some imperceptible feelings, âDo you know why I havenât been looking for a girlfriend?â
The darkness was total in front of Chloe. She could hear Sean, but remained silent.
Even though she felt suffocated, she didnât lift the blanket.
Sean spoke at a volume Chloe could hear.
He continued to pour out his emotions. And maybe the room was quiet, unlike the filming on the computer where everyone was watching, he felt very relaxed, and was able to throw his emotions into his act with ease, âI always liked a girl, and thatâs why I hadnât had a girlfriend.â
Chloe, who was still covered up under the blanket, held her breath as if she wanted to hear clearly who this girl he was talking about was.
âShe was a little younger than me, we went to the same school, and weâve seen each otherâs embarrassing momentsâ¦â He sounded increasingly melancholy and depressed, as if he had no room to express his infinite feelings. âAfter all these years, I thought about expressing my thoughts to you. But, as we had become too familiar with each other, I found it difficult to tell you.â
Chloe, who was hiding under the blanket, felt her breath catch. She didnât know why, but her heart was pounding, as if because she had heard what Sean had said.
Sean looked at the billowing blanket and continued, âShe was actually very beautifulâ¦â
Chloe held her breath once more and listened carefully to Sean. She realized that she had met all the criteria that Sean had mentionedâ¦.
Had Sean grown fond of her?
âHowever, she didnât have a good character, and sheâs a bit self-centered. And probably because of her wealthy family, sheâs always arrogant and dismissive of ordinary people. In that sense, Iâ¦â
âSean!â
Suddenly, Chloe lifted up the blanket, sat on the bed and pointed at Sean angrily, âWho are you calling self-centered!â
Sean looked at her and curved the corner of his lips, âI said I liked the self-centered girl. Iâm not talking about you, why are you assuming itâs you, and why are you so agitated?â
â¦
Chloe was speechless.
Her face flushed like a cooked prawn.
The air froze for a few seconds before Chloe started yelling at him, âNoah Harris, get out of here right now! Ughâ¦â
Her lips were suddenly blocked.
Chloe was a proud woman, and she was also demanding. That was why so far she had never found a boyfriend, and had never kissed any man.
This was her first kissâ¦.
Her pupils shrank uncontrollably, and she quickly realized what Sean was doing.
She tried to push him away, but Sean grabbed her hand as soon as she moved it.
Then, Sean slipped his other hand into her messy, slightly sweaty hair, gripped the back of her neck tightly, and kissed her even deeper.
