It was raining hard, Boyce Shawn let Dolores Flores wait for him inside the car, âIâm going to get an umbrella.â
He walked to the trunk to grab an umbrella in the rain and opened it, the rain hit the umbrella producing the noisy sound, he walked to the front passenger seat and opened the door, âItâs raining too much, let me carry you in to get in.â
Dolores stepped on the dashboard and got out of the car, Boyce immediately shielded her from the rain with the umbrella.
She grabbed Boyceâs arm, âItâs okay, I can walk, itâs only a short distance.â
Boyce didnât force her, after all it was inappropriate for man and woman to touch.
She walked slowly, Boyce lowered the umbrella when they were inside the house. Armand Bernie and Abbott Baron had left, the dining room was now clean too, Coral was tidying up the kitchen.
Dolores turned and looked at Boyce who was standing under the roof, the rain was falling very fast from the sky, even the wind was carrying a little moisture, she lowered her voice and said, âIâm in a bad mood today, donât worry about what I said.â
âI know.â Boyce pursed his lips, âIâm the one who should apologize, I shouldnât have suspected you like that.â
âTell that to Armand and Abbott, donât say we went out today.â When he left the bungalow with Boyce, he didnât evade them, they must have asked Coral about his whereabouts when he didnât see them downstairs.
âIâll call them, youâll go in first because youâve been gone so long already.â
Dolores nodded and said, âDrive slowly, itâs night, plus itâs raining, vision is bad.â
âI will,â Boyce replied.
Dolores turned around and went into the house. Coral was going to throw the garbage outside, she dropped the things in her hands and trotted over to Dolores when she saw her standing there, âLet me get you.â
Dolores took her by the hand and slowly walked in, âCoral, donât tell Matthew Iâm out today.â
Coral lowered her eyes and said, âOkay.â
âIs he still asleep? Is he vomiting?â she was still worried that his stomach would be upset since he drank on an empty stomach.
âSo far so good.â Coral kept her head down, not daring to look into Doloresâ eyes.
âI remember there is an anti-alcohol medicine at home, help me take a pill.â
Coral hesitated for a while and said, âOkay.â
She had also poured herself a glass of water, she walked towards Dolores, with the pill and water in one hand, while holding Dolores up with another hand, âBe careful, watch your step on the stairs, the doctor had said you couldnât get out of bed.â
âI know my limits, itâs okay.â When he got upstairs, he pushed the door open, there was only one bedside light on in the room, the lighting was a little dim.
He could faintly smell alcohol, he took the glass of water and the pill from Coralâs hand, âYou can go downstairs first, itâs okay for me to stay here.â
Coral agreed and said, âYou should be careful, call me anytime if anything happens.â
Dolores hummed and slowly walked into the room, Coral watched her walk by the bed, then just closed the door and went downstairs.
Matthew Nelson was lying on his side, hiding in the dark, Dolores walked next to the bed and put the water and tablet on the table. She sat on the side of the bed and reached out pulling him slightly, âAre you uncomfortable?â
His body was very heavy, Dolores couldnât turn his body if she didnât want to. She thought he was sleeping, so she didnât continue. She sat on the side of the bed, watching the rain continuously pounding on the window, her eyelashes fluttered slightly, she seemed to be thinking about something.
Matthew kept his eyes open, but didnât move.
One of them was lying on the bed and the other sitting up, both were thinking about different things.
Click Doloresâ phone rang due to an incoming message, she pulled out her phone and unlocked the screen by swiping it. It was a message from Charles White, she hesitated for a while before opening the message, there were only a few words, âGoodbye, Iâm goneâ.
The rain today was very heavy, more like it was during the night.
She sighed lightly, okay, she hoped everything would be back to normal.
Dolores turned and looked at Matthew, he was still lying on the bed without even changing the position, but she didnât know that his eyes were like the gray clouds of the moment, they were so thick as if the darkness would not go away.
She put down the phone, pulled up the blanket and lay down, wrapping her arms around his waist. When she just wanted to hug him and sleep, her hands were suddenly caught. When she hadnât even come to react, Matthew had quickly grabbed both her hands and pulled her from left to right, then squeezed her hands above her head so she couldnât move. His legs pressed against hers, he was lying face down on top of her.
The smell of alcohol from him was strong, Dolores frowned slightly, âArenât you sleeping?â.
He kept silent and looked at her lips without moving, his eyebrows looked crisp and clear under the dark lighting.
His thumb touched her lips, the shape of her lips was pretty, the lips were plump and rosy. His fingertip caressed her lips softly and gently. She lowered her eyes, the thick lashes had covered the darkness of her eyes.
Dolores didnât know what she was thinking, âYouâ¦. Ah.â
When she just wanted to speak, his fingertip suddenly pressed down to stop her mouth from opening. He was pressing hard, the pink lips had changed shape under his fingertip.
Dolores clenched her fists tightly in pain, but she could not move.
Matthew watched her closely and pressed on her lips again and again, Dolores remained silent, silently compliant.
His strength had reduced slightly, but his fingertip still wouldnât leave her lips. Sometimes he pressed them and sometimes he caressed them, as if something was coming from her lips. Dolores only felt that her lips suffered a numbing pain, today she was very tired, too tired.
There was something like water falling on her face, when she hadnât had time to see clearly what it was, his lips had covered hers and were sucking on her lips, sometimes a deep kiss while other times he brushed her lips.
It was the pain.
It was the indescribable sadness.
It was like being pulled into the abyss, suffering so hard. Every inch of reason and every inch of skin was being torn and shriveled, it was a living death.
Matthew let go of her hands and asked hoarsely next to her ear, âWhere did you go? I couldnât find you when I woke up just now, do you know how scared I was?â
Dolores hugged him, âI wonât leave, Iâll always be here.â
âIsnât it that I made you suffer a moment ago?â his muffled voice seemed to come from his chest, he also seemed to tremble a little.
Dolores turned her head and kissed him on the face, âNo, are you angry because I let you drink?â
âHmm, I feel like throwing up, my stomach is burning, I donât know if Iâm going to die or not.â
Her voice was very soft, but it came loaded with reproach, âYou think you can say crazy things just because youâve been drinking? I brought the anti-alcohol pill for you, do you want to take it?â
âGive it to me,â Matthew said quietly.
Dolores hummed and agreed willingly because she was the one who had gotten him drunk, she felt very guilty and heartbroken.
âSit down, if you donât sit down, how will you have the pill.â Dolores pushed him gently, then lay down on her side next to her. Dolores got up and took the pill in her hand, then put it next to her mouth.
Matthew opened his mouth and sucked his fingers with the pill in his mouth, Dolores frowned and withdrew her fingers immediately, âGet up and drink some water.â
He didnât move, âFeed me.â Dolores was speechless.
How she wanted to feed him water, the water would fall on the blanket.
âUse your mouth.â She blinked.
The pill was still inside his mouth and he hadnât swallowed it yet.
Dolores looked at him.
âMy stomach hurts, I canât get up.â Half of his face sank into the pillow, and he looked at her regretfully.
Did Dolores have any reason to refuse him? She could only drink the water, she didnât have the experience during the first sip, so she gulped it down, then went on for another sipâ¦..
