Eddie had a higher official title. However, Jeffery was the one who wielded the real power. He had armies.

“Give me a second to think again.” Matthew hadn’t come up with a way to completely end this issue.

After all, this problem was caused by Jeffery, and Eddie was the one who solved it.

Even if Jeffery refused to let it go, this situation could not be completely resolved.

He didn’t want to leave the matter up in the air for too long. He wouldn’t move on if he couldn’t do it all at once.

Boyce reflected for a moment, “I think it will be easy to get past Eddie because we have the information on him. But for Jeffery…” Boyce paused for a moment before continuing, “After all, Dolores has given birth to two children for you. Now she’s pregnant, but she’s involved in the murder case…really, you don’t need to worry too much.”

Actually, he meant that he didn’t need to be sympathetic to Jeffery.

After all, Jeffery wasn’t his biological uncle.

Jolene wasn’t his biological mother either.

Matthew kept his gaze fixed forward, his expression unchanged, as if he hadn’t heard what Boyce had said.

In fact, he heard it, but it didn’t show on his face. It wasn’t for old times’ sake. He had made that clear when Jeffery had gone to the company to find him the last time.

However, the evidence they had was Eddie’s, but not Jeffery’s. Even if Jeffery refused to let it go, the situation could not be resolved.

Unless the matter of Eddie causing a murder had something to do with Jeffery.

He squinted…as if contemplating something.

Boyce was well aware that, in this case, it was easy to say, but hard to do.

After all, Matthew was a human being, flesh and blood, with thoughts and feelings. He might have to struggle with him as he had to struggle in the past with the person he referred to as his uncle.

Also, Matthew had no idea that Jeffery was not his biological uncle. He must have a lot of struggles in his heart.

Boyce had this thought in his heart.

His thoughts and Matthew’s thoughts were not the same.

“Let’s go see Landon,” Matthew suddenly said.

Boyce’s eyes widened, “Have you thought of a solution?”

“Don’t divulge the true cause of Mary’s death. Find out if Sampson’s death was a deal between him and Eddie or Jeffery.”

He had a countermeasure in his mind. He wanted to determine Landon’s role in Sampson’s death, regardless of who was directly connected with his death.

But he supposed Landon didn’t realize that he was just a pawn in Eddie’s game.

After all, no one was capable of harming their own children unless they had no humanity or the benefits offered by Eddie were insurmountable. However, the Herbert Family was in business, Eddie couldn’t be much help either.

And how great did the benefit have to be for Landon to sacrifice two lives?

There could be a lot going on here that even Jeffery didn’t know about.

“All right. Drop me off here,” Boyce said.

Matthew parked the car on the side of the road, “Call me if you have any news.”

Boyce pushed open the car door, got out of the car and said well as he closed the car door, “You can go. I’ll get a cab.”

Matthew pulled the car away after giving him a brief glance.

He raised his hand and looked at his watch. It was already late. He wasn’t planning to go to the company, so he drove back to the villa right away.

Sean sat on the fence by the flower bed near the gate. He stood up when he saw the car approaching. Matthew stopped the car.

“Why are you here?” he got out of the car.

Sean said, “I have something to give you.”

As he said, he pulled a USB flash drive out of his pocket, “This is the entire process that was recorded in the bar that day.”

Although Jeffery had already been released from the hospital, his mental health was poor and he needed to rest at home. Sean stole the password to Jeffery’s computer and downloaded all the videos related to Dolores from it. He also completely erased all the original files from the computer.

He wasn’t sure if the files on the computer at home were the originals or if they had been saved elsewhere.

“Anyway, this may prove Dolores’ innocence. At least the last two fatal shots were not fired by her. Obviously, the first shot was fired by her to protect herself. It’s a self-defense situation.” He had seen all the videos, so he was well informed of the whole situation. Matthew raised his eyes and looked at him, “You stole her?” Sean nodded his head.

Matthew looked down and his eyelashes fluttered slightly. Jeffery was military and wielded real power. Could he open his computer with just a password?

Sean knew a little about computers. Checking the ID was still fine with him, but hacking into a military man’s computer had left Matthew skeptical.

“You opened it with just one password?” Matthew raised his eyes and asked.

Sean nodded truthfully, “Yes. And it was stored on the desk. I could see it as soon as I turned on the computer. I even checked the computer at home, and there were no other files. Unless there are still files on the computer in his office.”

“What do you suspect?”

Matthew shook his head and said nothing, “You can come back.”

He didn’t invite Sean to his house. He didn’t want anyone to disturb Dolores at that time.

Sean did not enter the house at that time because the person guarding the door refused to let him in. He was to receive instructions from Matthew. Sean knew that Matthew was not in a good mood these days because of Dolores’ affairs. So he was tactful.

With his hands in his pockets, he walked toward the car parked on the shoulder.

Matthew called out to him, “I’ll expect your father at Hibiscus Garden at eight o’clock tonight.”

Sean turned around and was a bit taken aback – what did Matthew want to do to meet Jeffery now?

Matthew, for his part, had no intention of explaining his thoughts to him. He turned around and walked in the door.

Dolores missed her two children, so she asked Victoria to bring them in today.

Victoria realized that Dolores might be pregnant during the few days that Coral sent the food. So the dishes Coral cooked were all good for a pregnant woman.

Victoria specifically asked Dolores to come today.

Dolores didn’t hide it from her.

After all, she wasn’t a stranger. She was the children’s biological grandmother.

After dropping them off, the driver left. So, Matthew didn’t see the car there and didn’t notice the presence of the two children until he entered the house. One of them was lying face down on the living room couch, staring at something, while the other was intently looking at the piano placed in front of the French window.

Matthew approached. His daughter, Simona, was the one lying on the couch. She was reading a poem by Tang, and was so focused that she didn’t even notice the person behind her.

Matthew unbuttoned his suit, took it off and laid it on the back of the couch. He leaned over Simona’s back and looked at the book in his hands. At that moment, Simona realized that there was someone behind her. She saw the face standing near her as she turned around. She hugged Matthew with a smile and kissed him. His drool was still hanging. She called Matthew sweetly, “Daddy.”

She looked a little embarrassed and reached out her hands to wipe his face.

Matthew seemed a little interested and looked at the book Simona had placed on the couch, “Are you starting to learn the classical Chinese poem?”.

Simona was very excited, “Yes. I’m going to elementary school soon. Of course, I have to learn to read Tang poetry.”

“Oh, really, how many poems have you learned?”

Simona was very happy and boasted, “I can recite this poem.”

Matthew looked at the poem, “Goose,” that Simona had pointed to. The corner of his eyes twitched slightly.

He stroked Simona’s hair and lifted her up to sit on his lap. She showered Simona with praise, “My daughter is amazing. She can even recite such a difficult poem.”

“It is difficult, isn’t it? I said it’s hard, but my brother says I’m stupid. I think he’s the stupid one.” Simona could finally find someone who agreed with her.

Simona acted like a spoiled child in Matthew’s arms, “Dad, you have to tell your brother not to always bully me in the future.”

Samuel was speechless.
