All four seemed inexperienced. Their appearances, looks and expressions were not sophisticated, but they seemed to be a bit uncomfortable and uneasy. There were also two of them who were eager to try, as if they had good feelings for the men in here.
Declan waved his hand, âCome on over here, all of you. This lot is brand new and immaculate.â
Jasmine Burke was the one he was most pleased with among them. She had an oval face, fair, small and delicate. She tied her black hair in a nimble ponytail. She was not tall and was the small, delicate type of girl. She had brown eyes, looked intelligent and pure.
Declan was used to seeing women heavily made up and flaunting themselves. He had a different feeling when a young woman unexpectedly appeared before him.
He felt very moved even when he could only imagine having this young woman beneath him.
If he didnât want to ingratiate himself with Matthew, he wouldnât give her to someone else either.
He pointed to Jasmine and hooked his finger, âCome here.â
Jasmine grabbed the hem of her clothes with both hands. Her palms were cold and sweaty. Her gaze shifted to Boyce, who was sitting on the edge, staring at his phone.
After understanding what Matthew meant, Boyce continued to pretend to play with his phone. He wasnât interested in the women in the place, so he didnât even raise his head when someone walked in.
Jasmine stood still. Declanâs face turned somber and his voice wasnât as soft as it had just been. He said in a heavy tone, âSit here.â He patted the seat next to Matthewâs.
Jasmine still didnât move, and her classmate next to her gently nudged her and said softly, âYou go. Heâs the most handsome man in the room. If you hit his fancy, youâll be rich. Those who come in here are all rich.â
âWhat do you mean, didnât you say we were here to work as waitresses?â Jasmineâs heart trembled. Someone replaced her part-time job as a waitress in a restaurant.
They hired a waiter, who could work long term, so they fired her.
The job of handing out flyers was not available every day. Thus, she had no source of income. Her classmate told her that this place was looking for a waitress. So he followed her here. She didnât realize it was this kind of place until she arrived.
She felt full of remorse. She felt even more disappointed when she saw Boyce. In the beginning, she admired Boyce very much. She still remembered Boyce going to her school to pick her up and handing her the money her mother had given her. She thought he was a decent and trustworthy person.
But, looking back on it now, he would come to these kinds of places too. He could not be considered a good man. Perhaps his integrity was feigned by him for others to see.
Matthew leaned back. A white shirt and black suit were the most classic combination. Two buttons on the shirt were unbuttoned at the moment. His neck was slender and the arch of his convex Adamâs apple was especially sexy. The light filling the room was dim. She squinted her eyes until they were long and narrow, âWhat do you mean Mr. Bailey?â
Declan quickly made a smiling face, âYou see, she only came in today and is unfamiliar with the rules here. Allow me three minutes.â
He stood up as he finished speaking. He grabbed Jasmineâs wrist with a fierce expression on his face. He threatened her in a low voice, âDonât pretend when youâve already come here. Donât try to play a difficult game here. I asked you to come here because I favor you. If you serve him well, you can put a price on what you want to receive. But if you dare to be presumptuous here, I will make you be in living death!â
It seemed that this farce had piqued Boyceâs interest. He looked away from the screen of his phone and glanced over here calmly. He was stunned for a moment when he saw the girl, who was trembling with fear by the door. He hadnât expected her to be here.
Declan forcibly dragged Jasmine here. He looked at Matthew and smiled, âSorry for this joke. But itâs your youth that can seduce people.â He smiled explicitly, âWe donât get married at our age, what for, isnât it so we can have fun and no one can hold us back?â
The marriage between Matthew and Dolores was then a secret marriage. This was not widely known. When Matthew returned, there were rumors in the outside world that he had a woman by his side.
After all, they did not hold a wedding ceremony and Matthew did not take Dolores to important events. It was normal for a man of this status to have a woman by his side.
Everyone wouldnât take him seriously as long as he didnât announce it with great fanfare. Everyone would assume Matthew was just having fun.
The only one everyone knew was Maria. But they were only engaged, and the engagement was later called off. Eddieâs desire to allow his daughter to marry Matthew was only a private plan. They never married â how would they dare divulge it to the public? Today, Eddie no longer held an office and had only one daughter. He seemed to have declined now. How could they continue to threaten Matthew?
The sweet dream that allowed her daughter to marry Matthew had also gone down the drain.
Now he couldnât even protect himself. Landon was aware that he had been used by Eddie, that Eddie had lied to him and had made him kill his own children. This hatred was absolutely irreconcilable. How could Landon allow Eddie to live out his golden years in peace?
Eddie was only fired from his position. How could this assuage the Herbert Familyâs anger over the loss of two lives?
The Herbert Family was no longer as good as it had been. Eddieâs dismissal had also left the Chambers Family with no one to trust. Who would have the last laugh was determined by their own abilities.
Declan pressed Jasmine to sit next to Matthew. At that moment, Boyce stood up and looked at Matthew, âSheâs done me a favor, could you give her to me.â
Armand almost dropped his jaw in surprise, opened his eyes and looked at Boyce in disbelief. Jeez, did this old man want to go to heaven? Was he finally feeling a strong attraction to a woman?
However, both the time and the place did not seem appropriate. It wasnât that he didnât meet beautiful women on a regular basis. But why did he suddenly rush in as if to ask Matthew for a woman?
Was there anything in this room that could cloud his mind?
He looked around, but noticed nothing. He reached out and touched Boyceâs forehead, âYouâ¦â
Boyce slapped his hand away, âGo away.â
Jasmine stood still and didnât move. She felt Boyce was not a good person either.
Matthew faced Boyce with only half of his profile visible. He had the same thought as Armand in his heart. It wasnât that he hadnât seen women before, but why was he only favoring her today?â
He worried that Declan was using a ruse behind his back and cheating on Boyce.
âWeâve met before, soâ¦â Boyce explained stiffly.
âIndeed, I have good taste. Even Boyce has become infatuated. But thereâs only one beauty. How about Boyce again choosing among the other three? These three are pretty too. Theyâre all virgins with nice looks.â Declan smiled on the outside, but was contemptuous on the inside. The person next to Matthew was too much. She was just a woman.
âItâs rare to have someone like Boyce.â Matthewâs words implied that he agreed to give Jasmine to him.
Declan twitched his lips slightly, but said nothing. It was, after all, his business. Anyway, he had already achieved half of his goal. They wouldnât be perfect if they were interested in women. They had to have some flaws. He had to take advantage of any opportunity.
Boyce tugged on Jasmine. Jasmine wanted to let go of his hand, but Boyceâs grip on her grew even tighter. Boyce reprimanded her in a low voice, âBehave yourself!â.
Declan smiled, âIf Boyce is in a hurry, thereâs a room upstairs.â
Boyce also smiled, âI happen to have a question for Mr. Bailey. Is this girl Mr. Baileyâs employee?â
âNo.â Before Declan could say anything, Jasmine had already denied it.
Declan glanced at Jasmine and smiled coldly, âYou come here looking for a job and I offer it to you. Isnât it true that we have an employer-employee relationship? Iâm your boss, how can you claim that you have nothing to do with me?â
âWe havenât signed the contract and you havenât paid me. This employer-employee relationship doesnât hold water.â Jasmine was not an illiterate fool. She wouldnât be fooled if she wasnât anxious to find work.
When the coworker told her at the time, she didnât even ask where the place was and just followed her to come. It wasnât up to her to leave once she arrived. Thatâs why she was showing up here.
âIt seems she is not employed by Mr. Bailey. Then Mr. Bailey wonât mind if I take her later, will you?â
