Chapter 2: 1

BURNING LOVEWords: 18462

Another normal day in PORYS.

Simple was it, the sun was shining in a warm and safe way for the human.

The sunrays reflected the beauty of the sea, it made it looked like the best canvas one could ever wish to be granted the blessing to see. The nature, stunning was the word used around to qualify it. PORYS a dream destination, all you need to compare with paradise. All of it the natives knew was just a frame to attract more tourists, an image that could become boring at some point.

If it was how heaven looks then on this particular day none of the folks walking or running gave it any thought, bored humans being or just too preoccupied with the issue of the day. Most of them did not even have habitation around. Places for "lower classes help" as they were called did not fit the dream designed to represent PORYS. They could only steal those moments of beauty bring them home at night with hope one day they could fit in.

A day like this particular one, difference did not count, all was the same, humanity face with its powerlessness. Everyone felt the same weight on the soul like the Universe was pouring invisible rain on humans souls.

All were feeling its invisible hand doing some invisible work none of them could understand. Everyone of them, bystanders and sellers, those running to shake themselves off of the dullness that was threatening to swallow them was just reduced to the vanity of life. Mortality.

Even that wealthy mother exiting her car with a toddler, to just stand by the seashore to look at the bright waters holding her child hand her left one on her hips the way she frowned had the men seating on the sand not far nodded to each others it was not only them feeling low, it affected even the "blessed of God" as they called the high society. They were unusually out for a week day, all of them with the same face reflecting uneasiness that even theirs palaces could not fill.

They had seen it all before, the oldest amongst them just stared at all the ruckus without a word knowing when the true nature of life claimed what is hers even the Kings of the human realms bow in front of it. One of the men in particular, seating away from the others looked up smiling at the calm sky, "too calm" he thought. the weather was its normal self neither shiny nor dry.

Like the calm that announced an incoming earthquake. All was silent. 'If human were birds they would not be seating around wondering what is wrong, they would be running for their lives'.

He thought spitting in the sand the last drop of  the beverage he was drinking from an old plastic cup before throwing it in his very old but clean plastic bag, he did not care of things most of the time firm believer of the spiritual life ruling the physical. He knew 'like knows like" the same 'like attract like', no matter the classes wealth had created between men, when like soul met nothing could come between them.

So he was not and had never been influence by someone money. It was just tools given to win the game of life, in way humans could understand. Others arms exist, those he could manifest. He often demonstrate it with weird premonitions that had people a little wary of him.

The way he lived his life was a reflect of his mindset, simple in all way, almost a silent one when he had nothing to say.

"Changes are coming. The gods will manifest them. This is the beginning of a new era, a fire is Kindles that no one can quench. Change, yes change."

Upon hearing him said that the two men nearby, knowing his words were always true nodded apprehensively praying it would not be the poor that will carry the heavier load of those changes.

The morosity of it all could be seen on people faces throughout all the kingdom, it was a shadow threatening to swallow all theirs souls. It seemed to be feeding itself from people joy. Only the children and some high spirited person could moved around unhindered.

The worse was at the University. Gloomy was the faces of all the students gathered in all the amphitheatres, even the brightest of them were fighting with the wave of sleepiness lulling them like the best baby sleep song. All of them had theirs head ready to go down to sleep.

While others sat with theirs hands crossed on theirs chests rigidly holding onto their bodies to push away all kind of heaviness. It was the easiest way to recognize heirs of long dynasties and  those whose parents possessed a recent wealth. Chosen heirs were built to rule, which means ruling over theirs own bodies.

Even the best professors had difficulties to maintain a lecture through that kind of time. It really was not the best of ideas. It was like trying to pull a tooth out of their soul, theirs sorry faces were clearly saying all theirs minds could not verbalized through theirs closed mouths. They did not liked it one bit.

Those was the kind of day professors disliked the most. Particularly one of them, in one of the amphitheatre of the elite university, a high rank professor wandered her gaze around her, holding herself from sighing at the students dull eyes.

The way they were all sitting there waiting for the time to pass listening with one ear theirs minds lost in a realm each of them could create that was not the boring amphitheatre or whatever blabbing she was forcing on them was clearly visible. She had seen it all and knew how to make the difference between boring and alive.

Even the most attentive of her students was respectful enough to acknowledge her presence. One particularly at the end of the class near the fire exit, kept writing which was a lot for her to continue. She knew one was better than zero.

She did not know who to blame for it  though, she felt the same to be fair. Squinting her eyes she could see her shadow student, as she came to call the girl at the exit, seemed unaffected when everyone was, due to the light of the video presentaction She rarely had the time to see her properly before she always manage to disappear. She herself could feel it to her core.

The heaviness of the air was trying to bring her down but she was not one to let that happen, since the moment she placed her feet on the ground it was like everything started going sour, she wanted to stay in her bed but knew better than that.

Nothing was abled to cheer her up. Certainly not the first thing she had to see Arthur Zurow Alister, her husband. Rolling her tongue in her mouth as she explained the PowerPoint presentation on her next research to the silent audience she did her best to concentrate putting conviction in her prestation.

Katiandra Fendrik Zurow stood in front of her desk the light of the screen reflecting on her, she looked so surreal like an actress, the artifacts she explained to her students did nothing to keep them awake but her beauty.

Every moment in her amphitheatre was like having a VIP pass to the most pleasant movie of all time for her students. The way her red lips moved was so captivating, so surreal that the youngs adults had to lean back on their seats or forward on the table heads in palm of theirs hands faking to listen, no one wanted to be caught lusting on her.

The girls just dream to be her, others sometimes caught themselves having forbidden thoughts about her sometimes that made them wondered how it would be, just how? Indulging in the temptation behind it. But as soon as the idea would pop it would be erased most of the time by one shaking of the head, like to see clearly.

Fighting those thoughts was a continual battle for each day brought a new version of the woman. Right there under theirs gaze in the middle of what was a total waste of a day as most already tagged it, the woman was in all her glory undisturbed.

The light of the projectors put on display her straight face complemented by hight cheekbones and nose that reminded her Eastern lost origins, everything in a size that fit with her luscious lips always paint in red that made her reddish brown hairs and green eyes looked on her like masterpiece.

All in her features was out of character for her surrounding. She was a little woman that fit all the characteristics of stunning, around her always was an aura that made everyone fear her in an uncomfortable way but yet they still stick around her.

For the day she was wearing a dark blue dress with an expensive white breastpin on her upper chest matching the white watch on her hand, a white scarf around her throat to keep out of sight the cleavage that could be seen.

The dark blue stilettos she had on make her legs looked endless hugging her delicate feet. Her hairs moved freely on her shoulders a sight that could keep everyone entertain for the totally of a boring lecture. That was a fact well known amongst students. Unashamedly, she used it at her advantages.

Everything was good to educate, good look she had learned work magic on humans and students in particular.

The sound of the end of the history of ancients civilization disturbed the silence greeted by sighs of relief from everyone, it was not a surprise no one came to her for explications like they often do, gathering her stuff she walked out of her auditorium first, students in the hallway getting out of her way, there were a line between them for her to pass miles away, as soon as the word goes that she was out.

It was pleasant since she did not like to inhale teenagers sweaty scent or hormonals sweet, she knew what was going on in college, they all were like rabbits to everything call sexual testing or using theirs bodies in a way to make the holy spirit or whatever saint out there frown.

"Mrs Alister, can I have a minute please?" Faking a smile Katiandra, tilted her head to meet Mr Manuel Kumar blue eyes, the dean of the art faculty of Zurow High Class University stood there always overwhelmed by the woman beauty.

He knew to not act on it, he was known to sleep with every female around the campus but not only was Mrs Alister a cold woman but her husband threatened him to cut his family jewels if someone ever report him that they saw him looking at his wife another way than respectfully, the thread went with a cut on his upper thigh just to remind him to not think he could play it off in a certain way.

Pushing that away he followed her in her big office, bigger than his and anyone else, normal she was the rector head of everything.

Things was different in PORYS , in all the sectors, religion cloud the social rules but as always there were some people who played above them, the woman was one of them.

Nowhere around a woman ever rule a university at all but her, being their furher wife did paid at time for her to be the rector of the renown University for more than twenty years, there were never  changes and that will never happen, she will changed Dean from time to time but that was it.

"I supposed you did not came here to waste my time dear."

Startled by her voice the man coughed ambarassed sitting straight in his expensive seat which was covered by gold.

"I, huh, excuse me Mrs Alister. I, the research in the North Gator seems to go well they think that before the end of this week thing will start to get in touch with our prediction."

Noddind a small line that showed her content on her lips, it was one of the rare occasion he ever saw her expressing her real contentment. Amazed Manuel Kamar waited for her to said something but she opened her laptop dismissively focusing on whatever she was looking at.

From the corner of her eyes Katiandra could see the man recoiled, he opened her door and closed it behind him with not sound. Breathing she felt back in her seat happy for the first time of the day.

She was the one instigating the reaseach in the North Gator it was a desert a little far away from PORYS, that her husband own after some rough years because of its historic richest.

Mostly gold or petroleum. There was a massive amounts of money they have already extracted through all the discovers they made in those foreign lands. It had already been twenty-five years since she found the first site.

An understatement for all the communities and centers. After only five years of starting her work as rector creating that new branch, she had done something like that. It had made her the  younger woman that led those kind of research.

Theirs museum was the best and most guard one around the world, they have been sharing pieces with others countries and even had to put some of the discovers on the intangible cultural heritage.

The international community already started bugging her about North Gator which she did not knew if Arthur could favor, there were a reason why he maintained her as rector of the  university that was the guardian of their cultural patrimony. Which means both the ministries in charge of culture and the one managing all PORYS territory was under her leadership.

After all she was the only one in there to be a professor coming from the best Occidental university of the time, majoring in history and ancients civilization, which certainly had interested Zurow Alister father because she was not even enjoying her fate after graduating that she was announced by her parents that she had to come back to fill her engagement as the wife of the next king of PORYIS.

Running away was not an option, she was always under their scrutiny. That very moment she had understood why she felt like people were following her for months before the call. Then one day she confronted one of them, he present himself saying they had to protect their queen. At twenty five it was useless to do whatever she wanted against them she had no friends.

Poryis was technologically advanced, things that was still on project in others lands had already been created for them the same goes for all the layers of the society. Things seems so perfect and clean that someone would feel like dreaming, the day to day reality was not otherwise her husband was the cause of it all.

Exiting her office a little after seven she walked in the desert hallway followed by her guards who kept a good distance from her aware she did not like to be cling to.

The reason she always go back home at night was because of the lights, the Town was really beautiful at night. The shops opened was mixed with modern and very high building, not a lot of people were out at night but young lovers walked in each other's arms like nothing bug in their life, just contented of what they had, not questioning  the rest.

All of that was heartwarming but, she knew that under all of that was a darkness no one could even imagine. They could not find it even if they had it under theirs nose.

Coconut palm trees planted on the way home made her peaceful, making the dullness she felt in her fade a little bit, this was her life for thirty years already. She had settled to just see the time passed having nothing to say, she had accepted her fate.

The cars entered large gates that lead to the big palace she lived in, rolling her eyes she sighed in defeat immediately smiling as she saw her daughter running where her car was about to park.

After going through the process of getting home she was greeted by her cheerful daughter the only sun that fill her days.

"Mommy you're back!" Hugging her mother as soon as  she was out of her powerful SUV car Alicia took her suitcase out of her hand to help her.

The twenty five years old version of her started talking her head off while they walked toward her bedroom like she always does when her mother was around her. Finally jumping on her mother bed she placed her face in her hands waiting for her to finish to change, her feet balancing behind her.

"Honey you did not come in my office today. What happened? I thought at least my best student will come and say hi."

Groaning she put her head in the mattress provoking a real smile from her mother who started laughing freely.

"Soorryy, but today was, hurgk! Tiresome, dull, boring..."

"Okay okay, I got the point love."

"It really was Mom like? What did they poured on Earth above there? Last night should have been a highly spiritual one for them, because us mortals have suffered because of it today. Did you know that thing like that alredy happened in the past?"

Her angelic face shone from the bed lifting a weigh off katiandra heart. Out of her four children she was the joyful one, very in spiritual things even if she did not indulged in any one of the third religion that form their country, rolling on her back like a child will do her leg still up she stared at her mother from the bed in a way that made her laugh increase.

"Mom! Stop laughing I'm really serious. I read a book that said that things like what happened today always do when a spiritual being was to be awaken in a human form that will cause terrible changes, that is the cause of this dullness we all fell. Because the forces that normally take care of us have to concentrate on making the awakening happen as dark forces fight for it to not happen."

Removing her jewelry the smiling woman shook her head at her daughter tale, even Disney could not do better when it come to make them.

"My love you know that they are just that, tale. Nothing is awaking. Okay... Okay princess if it is the case then we will leave that to the universe to deal with."

"Mom! You are deceiving for an historian, duh! I swear to you Mama Rosa said it was real. She said it couldn't happen everywhere put where the thing will happen. I called Miriam in Cali she said there everything was fine same for my other friend Francis in Heathrow. The same for our neighbors but strangely enough everyone that I called in the others towns of our dear homeland said they fell like staying in bed."

Worried by how she took it by heart, her mother sat on the bed near her caressing her reddish-brown hairs tenderly her cristal eyes looking in her mother same color ones.

Katiandra loved her dearly maybe it was the fact that she was her younger version in everything she did, her curiosity was overwhelming sometimes. The only thing she knew was her love for her bypass the one she had for her two sons, Lincoln at thirty was a brave man with a huge heart and Alfred twenty eight who had difficulties creating his own self.

At last there was her twenty nine rebel other daughter Kayley, who never missed an occasion to make trouble arise. Caressing Alicia cheek she leaned to kiss her forehead. It was not fair for the others that she dearly loved too but she had already come clean with that. That is why favorite exist.
