Chapter 88: 87

BURNING LOVEWords: 21040

"Whoa there, slow down before you send us both tumbling into the flowers bushes!" Katia exclaimed with a laugh, though a hint of concern lace in her voice.

Energetic and oblivious, with no ears for that, Lorelei launched herself into her lover's arms, nearly knocking the taller woman off balance.

Despite years of rigorous training, the Queen stumbled backwards under the force of the impact. But she quickly recovered, her arms wrapping securely around Lorelei's waist in a fierce embrace. Releasing a joyous laugh that seemed to mend the pain of their separation, she spun them both around.

The familiar scent of lavender and the warm sunlight washed over them, a powerful aphrodisiac that reignited a love that had already  transcended time and space. It was so good to think they'd made it.

Every fiber of Katia's being vibrated with wild love and passion. She pressed her face into Lorelei's hair, inhaling deeply, the familiar scent and the release of tension sending a wave of euphoria through her body. As their bodies reconnected, it felt like everything was finally falling into place.

Lorelei mirrored the sentiment, breathing out slowly, a wide smile spreading across her face at the sound of Katia's genuine laughter. It was a sound more precious than any she could have imagined, even in her wildest dreams.

"Whoa there, my love!" Katia chuckled again, tightening her arms around Lorelei's waist. While her feet reconnected with the floor.

The familiar scent of lavender and sunshine enveloped them both.

Lorelei could only giggle, burying her face deeper into Katia's shoulder. Her entire being buzzed with the electricity of the simple fact to hold her soulmate.

Katia, in a rare display of vulnerability for those who didn't know her well, let out another laugh, a sound that surprised everyone listening. The Queen, laughing freely like any ordinary person, was a sight and sound no one had witnessed before.

Inside the breakfast room, everyone was frozen in place, unconsciously captivated by the scene unfolding before them.

Though they could not see, the section of the terrace where the Queen retreated was hidden  from their view, but the power of imagination gave all of them something to picture.

Her daughters were much surprised for they could count the number of time they had heard her laughing like that in their entire life. Never.

It was enough for kayley to know this was it, meeting Alicia shining face, she reciprocated the gesture, the young princess overly joyful face was sparking enough to be contagious.

Even  Lorelei's parents, Bertha and Reagan were reluctantly aware Whatever was happening out was not fake. That laugh was the carefree laugh one only hear from a child. A pure heart.

They exchanged a silent glance, both bewildered by the depth of joy radiating from the two women. It was a love so open and uninhibited, a blatant contrast to the secrecy they had been forced to endure before because it was clear they had history.

Outside, Lorelei giggled again, burying her face in the crook of Katia's neck, her entire body vibrating with the joy of being held in the strong arms.

"Katia! My God! I knew it! You were there! It wasn't a dream!" she exclaimed, her voice muffled by Katia's embrace.

The Queen, her fingers gently stroking Lorelei's hair, squeezed her closer.

"There, there, my sunshine," she murmured, her voice thick with love. "You felt me, didn't you?"

"For sure! It felt so real, then I thought it was like the other time you know." Lorelei stammered, pulling back slightly.

Her eyes, glistening with unshed tears, locked onto Katia's beautiful face, the one that always made her heart flutter uncontrollably. It was a feeling unlike anything anyone had ever described, a love that resonated deep within her soul.

She searched Katia's eyes for a long time before a soft smile bloomed on her face. Leaning her head to the side, she asked, her voice laced with a playful pout that tugged at Katia's heartstrings,

"But why didn't you say anything? Why didn't you wake me up?"

The Queen brushed a stray strand of hair from Lorelei's cheek, her gaze filled with an undeniable warmth, a love that burned bright and true.

"Perhaps, my love," she said in a husky whisper, "I simply wanted to savor the sight of you sleeping for a while. You looked so peaceful, so content."

Lorelei swatted playfully at Katia's arm, but the playful glint in her eyes couldn't hide the depth of their connection.

"Oh, really, Katia!" she teased, a wide smile gracing her lips. "You're impossible!"

They stood there for a moment, a sight of love, eveyone could only dream about, one that had conquered time and adversity, going against all human predicament on long distance relationships. The anxieties and uncertainties of the past years melted away compared to the overwhelming joy of this single moment of their lifetime .

After a long embrace, Lorelei finally stepped back, a newfound confidence radiating from her.

"So," she began, her voice filled with a quiet strength, a hint of uncertainty lingering at the edges,

"does this mean that Porys is on hold?"

The Queen raised an eyebrow playfully, seeing a flicker of hope and trepidation crossing Lorelei's features. A familiar spark of amusement danced in the older woman eyes.

"Are you suggesting I abandon my royal duties to frolic in leisure with my sunshine goddess?" she countered arching her perfectly trimmed eyebrows , her voice laced with a playful challenge.

Lorelei's grin widened at the endearment name.

"Well, not exactly abandon," she replied, her voice feigning seriousness but laced with a world of hope that Katia would stay. "Perhaps... a slight delegation of duties? Like, say, for your favorite person?"

To see all the hope in her eyes and the way her hands were rigidly holding hers like she was bracing herself for a refusal,

The Queen's laughter echoed through the garden, a sound that resonated with the clarity of one totaly in love, it was like for Lorelei the woman had removed all filters. The young woman pouting face made her put a tone down to her happiness knowing she did not like to be made fun of.

"Alright, alright, you win, my love," she conceded, a smile playing on her lips as she surrendered in mock defeat. But her gaze held a deadly seriousness as it locked with Lorelei's.

The brilliant smile that spread across Lorelei's face made her eyes sparkled with an intoxicating light, a glow that nearly stole Katia's breath. Ready to jump with joy, Lorelei's exuberance was momentarily dampened by the sudden seriousness in Katia's eyes.

"But on one condition," Katia declared.

"Anything for you, Your Majesty," Lorelei replied, bowing dramatically, a playful gesture that drew a chuckle from Katia.

"You let me help you finish those waffles. I'm sure you haven't eaten properly. You need your strength." The Queen stated, a mischievous glint sparkling in her eyes.

She knew Lorelei's love for waffles, a peculiar fondness she couldn't quite understand, but it was a part of what she found so endearing about her.

Lorelei's eyes widened in mock horror, mirroring the glint in Katia's gaze.

"Is that so, Your Majesty? Because... I am clearly starving, and you haven't fed me properly. I need my fill."

Lorelei locked eyes with Katia, a playful fire burning in her own, waiting to see what the Queen's response would be.

"Then... we have a deal?" Katia murmured, her voice a husky whisper that sent shivers down Lorelei's spine. Leaning closer, Katia brushed her lips against Lorelei's ear, the warmth of her breath igniting a spark that danced through Lorelei's body.

Lorelei instinctively closed the distance between them, her hands finding Katia's waist with a desperate yearning. Katia responded with a soft moan, the press of Lorelei's touch a familiar comfort that sent a jolt of electricity through her.

"All yours," Lorelei mumbled back, her voice thick with emotion. Katia's tongue darted out, tracing a sensual circle around Lorelei's earlobe before flicking playfully at the sensitive spot. A gasp escaped Lorelei's lips, a sound laced with both surprise and delight.

Katia chuckled, a low rumble that vibrated through Lorelei. With a possessive hand tangled in Lorelei's hair, she tilted her head back, offering her lips in a silent invitation. Their gazes locked, a billions of unspoken emotions passing between them.

Lorelei met Katia's gaze with a fierce intensity that mirrored her own desire. As their lips met, a gasp escaped Katia's throat. The kiss was a collision, a desperate exploration fueled by years of longing. Their tongues danced, a passionate tango filled with unspoken promises and a love that transcended time.

Norman and the other guards,  always professional were trained for this kind of situation, from the beginning they had discreetly turned their backs on them as soon as Lorelei appeared. Their years of service had instilled in them an unwavering respect for privacy.

A silent understanding passed between them though, a shared joy in witnessing the young woman real happiness with whomever it was, she had been treating them like no other boss before it was only fair she also get to enjoy life.

Those who did not know it was the Queen territory were even happier. They knew the big heart the woman possessed for those she called hers.

For a fact the king death passed like nothing ever happened, it was not even sad, the man alive was able to cause many deaths to happen both physically and emotionally, it was considerate a curse to be working on his services.

Bless the Queen, they had no need to give their souls away. That is what made them be loyal to her family not caring about any other considerations.

Lost in their own world, Lorelei and Katia clung to each other, their touches desperate and filled with a possessive tenderness. Katia's hands roamed Lorelei's back, sending shivers down her spine with every caress.

Lorelei, in turn, traced the elegant line of Katia's jaw, her fingers lingering on the soft skin with a reverence that caused katiandra's eyes to hold unshed tears by how much her partner love her, it was surreal, that is why she deepened their kiss.

Breathless a minute after, they finally pulled apart, foreheads resting against each other. Their eyes, locked in a silent conversation, conveyed a love story that needed no words.

"Oh my love, my love..." Katia, her voice trembling with unshed tears, rained soft kisses down Lorelei's face. Each kiss was a whispered promise, a vow of a love that would endure.

Lorelei, her heart overflowing with an emotion she could barely contain, met Katia's every touch with a fervor that mirrored her own. This was more than she had ever dared to dream of, a love so profound it eclipsed everything else.

In that shared space, there was no longer a Katia or a Lorelei, just two souls forming one. Their love, a tangible force, filled the air around them,

Even the nature seemed to resonate with their love. An unusual serenity enveloped them, and a breathtaking rainbow arced across the sky, startling everyone, including those gathered in the breakfast room who could see it through the glass wall.

Accustomed to the unseen forces that touched their lives now, they all watched in silent contemplation. Bertha exchanged a glance with her husband, a silent question hanging in the air about the depth of their daughter's experience.

Without a word, the man's gaze shifted towards the glowing arch in the sky, a silent confirmation that a greater power was watching over the two women outside. They all intuitively understood the significance of the moment.

On the terrace, Lorelei, her being full with joy and overflowing, momentarily forgot all past pain. Taking a deep breath, as if pushed by some unseen force, she lifted her eyes to the sky in silent gratitude to the one who had created their love. But the sight before her stole her breath away.

A vibrant rainbow, completely an artful work from the Universe, stretched across the heavens. In awe, she let out a joyous cry turning her back to katiandra.

"Yeahhh! Woah..."

Moving towards the edge of the terrace, where they stood at the far end of it, she leaned against the railing. Katia, a constant presence behind her, never letting go of their connection, leaned on her back, then rested her forehead on Lorelei's shoulder. She purred content in the way their bodies fit together, the perfect melding of two souls.

Titling her head, slightly moving her body still glued to her lover side, she was almost side hugging her there,  feeling comfortable with that position, she could only stare at the only light for her.

Her gaze drifted to Lorelei entire face, mesmerized by the way the sunlight danced in her lover's eyes as they reflected the rainbow's brilliance. Katia was captivated, her heart overflowing with love for this woman who was her everything.

Turning her gaze from the breathtaking sight of Lorelei, the Queen looked up at the vibrant sky, her heart brimming with gratitude. A silent thank you echoed within her, a prayer of appreciation for this love that had been blessed by the universe itself.

A wide smile bloomed on her face as she showered Lorelei's cheek with soft kisses, each one a whispered declaration of love. Lorelei giggled with delight, leaning back into Katia's comforting embrace.

"I love you," Lorelei whispered, her voice thick with emotion, the words resonating deeply within Katia's soul.

Katia squeezed Lorelei closer, her voice a husky murmur against her lover's ear. "And I love you infinitely. You are the queen of my heart." Here, with no fear of prying eyes or judgment, Katia allowed her love to flow freely.

"I love you more than words can express," She finished, her voice filled with a conviction that mirrored the depth of her feelings.

In silence they stood there until a noise, like a rogue rumble from Lorelei's belly, shattered the stillness, erupting in a shared laugh from both women.

"You're alright, my little tummy, I have to feed this other part of me. Yeah, it will not even be a challenge."

Katiandra murmured with the palm of her hand caressing the flat but tone belly of her soulmate, her voice laced with such genuine affection as she kissed Lorelei's temple.

That declaration had Norman and the others scattered around them, each secretly smiling knowing

there would never be forgotten meals around their young boss again, they all thought, she would normally say, "I'm not hungry." Or eat it like she was forced to.

Even with Bertha around she had found sometimes her way out of eating, arguing, "one shall not feed themself only with food." To all her philosophical thoughts only her mother could force her with emotional threats.

Lorelei, caught red hand, though this was not her doing this time,

closed her eyes a moment, understanding those veiled words and the gentle teasing about her past forgetfulness on food, raised her hands in surrender smiling cheekily, a playful glint in her eyes.

"Alright, alright, I confess! I promise to be on my best behavior."

The unspoken exchange painted a kaleidoscope of emotions on the Queen's face. Amazed at  her soulmate ability to still read her. She recognized the reason behind Katia's charade - which was the promise she had made in Porys to never miss a meal.

Back then, Lorelei had sworn with her hand over her heart, she would never missed meal then had added

" ...Bless Porys land which produces it all."

Both were wise enough, meeting eyes, to know she had not lie, since the foods were not produced by Porys anymore  hence the promise was not valuable here too.The irony brought a subtle smile to Katiandra's lips. How could she hold a lie against such a loveable and wise soul at that?

"I'll hold you to that, my love," Katiandra began, her voice trailing off as she kept Lorelei's gaze, sparkling with warmth and understanding,

She believed in the importance of having three meals per day when life has granted that gift, while eating once or two was not uncommon without being a food disorder it displeased her to know her partner forgetful habit when she was one to work non stop on all her projects like an automatic engine.

Though she had just promised it again, she wanted to have a promise clear of any loops this time, for that she insisted holding the young woman gaze in hers saying

"A promise..." she trailed waiting expectantly for her partner to finish

"...is a promise, no matter the land,"

Lorelei finished, a smile gracing her lips as her soulmate leaned in for a gentle kiss. Her body nestled against Katiandra's side, the Queen's arm wrapping around her protectively, a hand resting possessively on her waist. The same thought, a silent vow, echoed in both their minds.

Their connection, a wordless language of its own, brought a shared smile to their faces. As if summoned by the unspoken joy, Aka, Sloan or Norman doing their job, Martha materialized with an abundance of laden trays, followed by maids who helped set the table outdoors.

All the while, they couldn't help but steal glances at their transformed young boss, who was normally someone warmth to be around by the tenderness she always have in store for every soul, but she was reserved by nature, restricted by a dignified weight she had carried.

Only to three others people she let in, Alicia, kayley and Benoit. With them she was free in attitude maybe for their sake but not carefree.

To see her like this, overexcited, a carefree spirit she had became on a matter of seconds with a radiant smile. It was as if a veil had been lifted, revealing a younger version of herself, glowing with an authenticity that could only come from a heart genuinely loved.

The weight of responsibility seemed to have vanished, replaced by the comfort of knowing someone else now shared the burden. She had given the control to her soulmate in a way.

To see her like that was weird, a good weird though, all around loved her, she had changed all their lives with her kindness.

The young maids, filled with a dreamy longing for such a love themselves, bowed their heads respectfully before retreating back to the breakfast room.

Where the rest of the family and the others staff members were already dispersing, aware that the "lovebirds" outside needed privacy.

"Come here, my love," Katia said with a soft smile, pulling Lorelei closer. Lorelei readily melted into Katia's embrace, not wanting the warmth of their connection to break.

The bodyguards, ever vigilant, dispersed a short distance away. Though they remained focused on the terrace and its surroundings, cameras were alerted inside and out ensuring no danger could reach the two women.

A comfortable silence settled between them as Katia began feeding Lorelei bites of salad from her plate leaving the waffles for later. This tender exchange continued, each bite reciprocated with a kiss or a playful nudge to return the favor.

After thirty minutes of blissful reconnection and a satisfying meal, they sat back in each other's arms, contentment radiating from them.

The rainbow, an unexpected visitor in this part of the world, continued to hold its place in the sky as if defying nature's usual order.

Lorelei, her head nestled in the crook of Katia's neck, traced a gentle path of kisses down her lover's throat and onto her hand. Their fingers intertwined, a silent promise spoken through touch.

They sat there in comfortable silence, their gaze fixed on the vibrant arc in the sky. It felt like a divine handshake, the universe itself witnessing this moment in time where they had found themselves in one place. They were at home.

The Universe through the brilliant rainbow seemed to say,

"I promised this would happen, today, I can witness it myself." the unspoken message seemed to resonate within them while their eyes were glued to it.

Rather than disturbing the women in this intimate moment, Sloan, discreetly made his way onto the terrace. After placing Lorelei's slippers at the foot of the table, he turned to the things above it. Then with practiced efficiency, he cleared away the dishes and utensils, careful not to make a sound.

He knew this was a private moment, a privilege not everyone shared.

Once finished, Sloan exited the terrace and discreetly handed the used items to Martha and the maids waiting by the door.

He then closed the terrace doors while Martha drew the curtains across the breakfast room's glass wall, effectively shutting out the outside world. Finally, Sloan took his position by the door inside the room, his presence a clear message to anyone who might approach.

Witnessing Sloan's actions, the remaining of the family, mostly Bertha and Reagan quietly dispersed, to do Whatever they had to do for the day.

While Dr. Killian, eager to share the good news that will change their lives with her wife, bid her farewell to the family, hugged kayley, Alicia and Benoit then left. Within minutes, the once bustling mansion settled into a peaceful quietness, as if no one resided within its walls.
