Chapter 10: ~ The no-date ~

~ Aidlyn & Sbg stories ~Words: 4757

I was going to do one of your requests, but sorry I need to write down this chapter first. In the last one it was saturday night, so now it should be their no-date.

And this time it's Aiden's pov ^^

"Hey." Aiden heard behind him. He turned and looked at Ashlyn who stopped in front of him, next to the front door of the karaoke bar.

"Hey Ash!", he smiled, looking at her. She had one loose braid like when they did the project. She wore a pastel green dress that matches perfectly with her linen bag, a black leather jacket and Doc Martens boots. "You looks... nice."

So pretty. Too pretty. Don't you dare blush, Aiden Clark.

"Umm, thanks", she mumbled and looked away. "Can we walk in?"

"Of course, ma'am", he laughed, opening the door for her.

They get a key from and counter, then passed the main bar, loud and crowded and entered a narrow corridor that led to separate karaoke rooms.

"Here is ours", Aiden opened one of the doors with a key, and they walk into a room lit with pink blue light. There was a song display on one wall, two large speakers next to it, and a projector, computer, and microphones on a low table surrounded by sofas.

"Aren't they afraid someone will steal it?" Ashlyn put her bag on the floor next to the table.

"There is camera here" Aiden pointed to the corner of the ceiling.

"Right. But it would be still possible to steal something."

They sat down at the couch and Aiden reached for the laptop.

"What do you want to sing?" he asked as the screen led up.

"Hmm." she was quiet for a moment. "There is one song I really like... it reminds me of... of our hanging out at the graveyard.

"What's the song?"

"Meet you at the graveyard...? But I think it's not so good to sing."

Oh.

The song that reminds me of you. The song you showed me once at the graveyard. You don't even remember that, I guess.

"I know this one... I really like this song too", Aiden typed the title on the laptop. "This is in fact hard to sing, but we can try!"

"Okay."

"Do you want to sing alone? Or with me?"

"With you... I can", she was a bit awkward, and Aiden tried not to melt from her cuteness. She looked happy, and this made him happy too.

"Welllll" he grinned, turning up the sound. "Let's have a fun!"

They reached for the microphones and stood in front of the display. The music started and Aiden noticed how nervously Ashlyn clutched the microphone in her hand.

"Calm down, Ash. I can even sing", he said with a smile, but wasn't sure if it helped her.

She took a deep breath and they started to sing.

I will meet you at the graveyard

Where you lay down, where you stay now

Faced up, cold heart, no longer by my side now

Wish we were together, now I don't know when I will see you

Aiden couldn't sing more.

He just couldn't.

She was just singing too amazing.

"Umm, Aiden." he glanced at him quickly. "I said I wanna sing with you. But if you don't want to, why don't you just tell me?"

He looked at her eyes, she looked upset.

"Just continue... I'm not even half as good in it as you."

"Good?" she rolled her eyes. "I don't sing so good."

"You do."

He could see a small smile in her eyes a one second before the light went out.

"What." Aiden heard her annoyed voice. "Why the hell the light is gone?!"

It was dark and quiet, soundproof walls did great.

"Shit." he blurted out. "I think the power went out."

"DAMN", she mumbled and Aiden couldn't stop smile widely. She is so cute when she's upset...

"Do you have a phone? We must have the flashlights."

"I have a phone, it's in my bag." Ashlyn replied and he heard her steps on the floor. "Wait, I'll try to find it... ouch, damn!"

"Are you okay?" Aiden tried to grope his way to the couch to reach for his backpack.

"I hit my knee" she hissed "on the table. I put my bag on the floor,  it must be around here..."

Aiden moved towards the direction where her voice came from and suddenly his foot hit something hard. He fell into the darkness, landing exactly on Ashlyn sitting on the floor.

"Aghh!" he groaned as pain shot through his ankle. "My leg...!"

"Uh, Aiden, get off me", Ashlyn wheezed, trying to push him away.

"I-I can't", Aiden gritted his teeth. "It hurts... so damn... much."

"You shouldn't walk in darkness like that!" Ashlyn's voice sounded annoyed, but then he felt her hand touched his side gently. He sensed her concern in this movement.

He tightened his fingers on her forearm, swallowing.

Why is it that every time I want to get closer to her, I don't have a chance, but when I try to move away from her, I can't?!

That was so frustrating.
