Ethan

"Okay." I stated, nodding my head. "Fine, whatever you say."

"Really?" She grinned at me.

"Yeah." I shrugged. "You might be right, my Inc might be dangerous, and your friend might be able to help me."

"I know he will." She smiled. "This is the best thing Trevor. Your mom really misses you." She whispered, coming close to me, just like I hoped she would.

"Yeah, I suppose." I said, holding her arms softly, purposely putting my left hand at her elbow. "And I'm sorry."

She frowned, confusion dancing in her eyes. "For what?" She asked.

I looked down at her beautiful eyes, getting side tracked by her long lashes as I leaned in, her breath fanning my face. She looked startled, the confusion never leaving her brows as she tried to fight her focus between my eyes and my lips. "For this." I said, barely above a whisper.

My thumb pressed against a pressure nerve in her elbow, and immediately, she fell limply in my arms. I held her straight and steady in my arms, her head resting against my chest as I reached to the back pocket of my jeans, grabbing my phone.

I quickly dialed Fiona's number.

She picked up immediately. "Hey Ethan." She said.

"Hey! How fast can you get to the outside?" I asked.

"Pretty fast, why?" She asked.

"I need a favor. And we'll need LT wipe." I said.

"Okay, I'm listening..."

I paced back and forth, waiting for Fiona. she was supposed to get to Roman first before coming here. LT wipe (long time wipe) was a serum produced by the institute. It was only used in the willing sector, seeing as there would be some people who would love to forget their horrible past.

You could also find it in the futures sector, but it was rare there.

I needed it now more than ever... Ivy can't know about this, I have to make her forget.

Although she didn't get the full picture, seeing as she thought I couldn't remember anything about my past life.

I watched her motionless body lay on the couch, breathing so gently and calm... Who would have thought Ivy Fisher was this smart?

Her curiosity would definitely get her in trouble one of these days.

I got distracted when the doorbell rang.

Immediately, I rushed to get it. Fiona stood there. "Get in." I said, stepping aside.

She walked in.

"Did you take care of the guy?" I asked her.

She nodded. "He's clean. LT wipe has taken away all his memories from this morning." She informed, her eyes going over to the couch to see Ivy, sprawled up on it. "That's your mission?"

"Yeah, her name's Ivy." I muttered.

"She's one smart bitch." Fiona chuckled, bringing out another serum of LT wipe. "How did she even find out?" Fiona asked.

I sighed. "She never fully bought my story about being a robot and shit like that... It all got pretty weird when she saw me bleed."

Fiona's eyes widened. "What? Are you okay? What happened?"

"The usual Highschool drama." I muttered.

"You can't just bleed Infront of outsiders Ethan... It's dangerous, it could expose the Inc and also put your mission in danger."

"I know- I didn't realize I was bleeding until you know, she mentioned it?" I raked my hands through my hair. "But I found a way to to get her mind off that thought. Not until she saw my mother." I muttered.

Fiona paused. "W-what?" She asked, surprised.

"Inject her." I said, gesturing towards Ivy.

Fiona still looked stunned at my words. She knelt Infront of Ivy and injected the contents into her neck before standing up.

"Done?" I asked.

"Yeah- she won't remember a thing from this morning." Fiona said, slightly distracted. "What do you mean by she saw your mom? I thought she passed away?" Fiona asked cautiously, knowing the issue of my family was still a sore subject to me.

"I thought so too... Not until this morning, I saw her, Fi. She was standing right in front of me. Totally fine." I said.

"What do you mean? Did the Inc lie to you? That's impossible Ethan- they wouldn't-"

"Then again, it's the Inc." I muttered.

"But- have you talked to Malcolm? Is he aware? Or was he?"

"He knew- two days after I was brought in... He knew my mother was still alive and he didn't tell me. He lied to me. He has been lying to me for all these years. How could he?" I asked, hurt and anger was evident in my voice.

Fiona looked sad too. "I'm sorry Ethan, I can't begin to imagine what you're going through." She sympathized.

"I know. I mean I understand. The Inc lied to me. Glory lied to me... Imagine how many subjects they have lied to, or the kind of lies they have told them?"

She sighed. "So what are you gonna do? Are you going to go after her?" She asked.

Go after my Mom? That was all I could think about, but knowing Glory like I do, it was best to stay away. "No... I don't want to put her in anymore danger... Glory can't know that I know, or else, you know what she'd do to her."

Fiona nodded.

"Any word on Caramel?" I asked, changing the subject.

"No, I haven't heard from her... And Malcolm hasn't gotten any detail on her." Fiona sighed. "She's gone, Ethan. Just like the others."

"We can't just look away from this. Listen Fiona, you need to file a compliant. Caramel was our friend, and we can't just let her disappear without doing anything."

"A compliant? To who?"

"Your sector head. You need to tell him that Caramel is missing."

Fiona thought about it for a second. "Fine. I'll do that..." She looked over at Ivy. "She won't be up till the next morning. Take care of her, um- Trevor." She smiled.

I sighed. "My fate."

Fiona laughed a little. "Indeed. Glory really did it this time. But, Why Trevor? Out of all the names?"

I shrugged. "Honestly, I still can't wrap my head around the reason? I don't even think there's a reason."

"She's pretty. At least you get to hang out on the outside, with a pretty girl... You get to go to their School, see new faces and places."

"We see new places and faces everyday at the Inc... there's no difference between the Inc and here."

Fiona sighed. "There might be no material difference but... There's a big difference between living amongst our kind and normal mundane people." She took in a deep breath. "It's almost like the oxygen here is different from that in the Inc. in the Inc, I feel trapped. But out here, I feel like I've finally found something different, something special... Something that I've always wanted- Freedom."

"Come here." I said, pulling her to me as I wrapped my arms around her in a hug. "We'll all be free. One day. I promise."

She nodded against my chest.

If only I could believe in my own words.

I sighed, pulling her away from me. "You have to go, before they find out you left."

She nodded. "I'll get to you on Caramel's case."

"Please do." I said.

With a small nod, she walked out of the house, shutting the door behind her.

I sighed, pinching the space between my brows, my eyes moving to Ivy's unconscious figure.

I crouched down beside the couch. Hesitantly, my fingers moved to graze her hair out of her face slowly.

She was indeed beautiful, long thick lashes casting a shadow below her eyes, thin pointed nose, full beautiful lips, which looked extremely soft, I found myself wondering how her lips would feel against mine... It made me smile as my eyes admired her soft pale skin, one that would definitely look great in a-

What are you thinking?

I quickly snapped out of it, before whispering.

"Now, how do I deal with you tomorrow?"
