âDoctor Roman, are you ready?â Yakumo Yukari asked. âIâm about to start the summoning.â Clearly, she was aware of Doctor Romanâs cunning plan for Merlin. He was truly ruthless.
âHold on. Chen Heng, do you have any ice water? Have a basin ready. Once I douse Merlin with the Gender-Shifting Spring, you splash him with the ice water.â
âAh! I do. Just give me a moment,â Chen Heng replied. He retrieved a water cup from his spatial storage but soon stowed it back. Instead, he produced a basin and several bags of ice water from the spatial storage. He ripped open the ice water bags with his attraction ability and emptied them into the basin.
âI have a question. When I was being summoned, the signs were very clear. A summoning circle appeared below, and the summoner had to finish the incantation before the summoned could arrive. Wouldnât Merlin prepare himself then? What if he casts a barrier or something, rendering the Gender-Shifting Spring ineffective?â
Upon hearing this, the doctor turned his gaze to Yakumo Yukari.

âSure.â Chen Heng took out a cup from his spatial storage. The doctor then poured half of the Gender-Shifting Spring from his mineral water bottle into Chen Hengâs cup.
Both men were tense during the pouring process. If the Gender-Shifting Spring accidentally splashed them, the consequences would be unthinkable, even ifâ¦its effect lasted only seven days.
âAll set?â Yukari asked again. âAre we ready to summon Merlin? If so, Iâll summon Merlin now.â
âReady to go. Letâs start. I canât wait.â
âI hereby declare, your body shall serve under me. My fate shall be your swordâ¦â Yukari began the incantation to summon the Heroic Spirit while performing some strange hand movements. Oddly, the summoning circle remained unresponsive.
Chen Heng was curious if this unresponsiveness was a unique feature of the circle but didnât dare interrupt Yukariâs incantation. After all, the summoning ritual cost about 50,000 points, a sum he couldnât afford to compensate.
ââ¦Come forth from the restraints of reincarnation, protector of the holy balance!â With Yukariâs final words, the previously quiet summoning circle ignited with light. In an instant, a figure materialized within the circle.
A second later, the figure solidified, revealing Merlin casually eating ice cream.
As soon as Merlin fully materialized, Doctor Roman, waiting at the side, swiftly splashed the Gender-Shifting Spring from the mineral water bottle all over Merlin.
âDamn, Solomon, what the hell did you splash on me?â Soaked in the Gender-Shifting Spring, Merlin dropped his ice cream as he jumped to his feet, shook the water off his clothes, and wiped his face with a towel.
âYakumo Yukari, it seems you tricked me. How unexpected. Summoning me while my guard was down, with such a discreet summoning circle⦠Winners are kings, and losers are evil. Tell me, what do you plan to do to me?â
After Merlin wiped the water from his face, he stood there openly, having given up thoughts of escape. Yakumo Yukari had prepared so much for his summoning, so it was unlikely she would let him slip away that easily.
Just as Merlin was about to repeat his question about what the doctor had splashed on him, a basin of cold water splashed him from behind, drenching him completely.
âDo you find this amusing? Summoning me just to douse me with water?â
He fell silent as he noticed some peculiar changes in his body. Suddenly, the people in front of him seemed taller. No, it wasnât that they had grown taller, but rather he had grown shorter! His clothes also felt considerably looser.
Instinctively, Merlin touched his chest and discovered subtle protrusions. Following that, he quickly touched his throat, only to find his Adamâs apple missing!
