Oscar Turner had brought quite a few people with him, filling the Lane Familyâs courtyard.
However, Harton Clark had brought his people too, as well as those who were already guarding the Lane Familyâs home.
When there was a commotion in the Reception Room, Oscarâs men tried to barge in, but they were blocked outside by the people of the Lane Family and Hartonâs men.
Although no fighting had occurred, the two sides were in a stand-off.
Inside the Reception Room, Daisy Zane let go of Oscar.
Thomas Firway immediately pulled Oscar aside.
Having dealt with him, Daisy turned to the group of relatives. She was about to speak when her cell phone rang.
She took it out, saw that it was Gael Eastonâs number, and picked up right away.
âHow did it go?â
Gael laughed and said: âOf course, everything is fine and safe. This is my territory, if you ask me to find someone, could I possibly fail?â
Daisy lowered her gaze and let out a sigh of relief without showing any change of expression: âDid they get hurt?â
âNo.â Gael said, âThey were originally escorted by people from the Lane Family; they were only forced into a mountain due to danger, and there was no signal inside the dense woods on the mountain.â
Gael, who is usually boisterous, suddenly lowered his voice: âThe Lanes, and the two you asked me to find, are all very powerful fighters. Oh, no, itâs mainly Andrew Lane whoâs very strong. Sophie Ortiz doesnât fight, but didnât slow them down at all. They didnât have a lot of people, but they fought against so many for almost a day and a night. These Lanes⦠are really not to be messed with.â
âPlease entertain them a little.â Daisy said.
âOf course. But they seem in a hurry to get back.â Gael said, then suddenly raised his voice again, but it wasnât meant for Daisy.
âYes, she asked me to find you. She⦠her name is Daisy Zane.â Gael almost forgot what Daisyâs current name is. âDo you want to say a few words to her?â
âDaisyâ¦â It was Sophie Ortizâs voice.
Daisyâs eyelashes fluttered, she responded, and then asked, âYou⦠Youâre not hurt, are you?â
âWeâre not.â Sophie said, âBut William and Amelieâ¦â
Everyone guessed who she was on the phone with.
Old Master Lane walked up to her with his cane.
Daisy looked up at him, signaling that everything was fine.
Old Master Lane let out a sigh of relief.
Daisy said: âThey are all fine, and not injured. The Lanes are fine too. Donât rush to get back, take a little rest there.â
âWeâd better go back, we donât feel at ease here.â Sophie Ortiz said.
âAlright, let Gael arrange an airplane for you.â Daisy said in a calm voice, âDonât hesitate to ask him for anything, he owes me a lot of money, so feel free to give him orders.â
Gael, who had heard this sentence through the loudspeaker: #ï¿¥%*&#ï¿¥â¦
After hanging up, Daisy told Old Master Lane: âThey are all fine and uninjured. Now arrangements are being made for their return.â
âGood, good.â Old Master Lane nodded, âAs long as they are safe, thatâs all that matters.â
Everyone let out a sigh of relief.
But what brings joy to some could bring sorrow to others.
Oscar Turner, who was pulled aside by Thomas Firway, along with the Lane Familyâs relatives were all dumbfounded.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
They thought that they would get more shares by being persuaded to come here by Oscar, but they didnât expect to get nothing and make enemies in the process.
After receiving a phone call, Daisy, though her hostility had subsided a bit, had no intention of letting them off the hook.
She moved Harton Clark aside and stepped forward, looking at the relatives.
The relatives had just witnessed her almost killing Oscar, which made them very afraid of her.
Especially knowing that Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Lane were safe, they had created such a fuss here.
Even Charlotte Lane would probably threaten their lives.
Daisy looked at them and said calmly: âWhen we gave you the shares initially, it was also based on the idea of looking after our own kind.â
The relatives listened quietly to her.
âBut while we were thinking about looking after you guys, you were thinking about taking our lives.â Daisy said sarcastically, âDonât you find it funny?â
Mr. & Mrs. Clark witnessed Daisyâs tact again.
Last time, she took the initiative with Clara Mitchell. This time, she single-handedly carried the entire Lane family.
âAs for me? Iâm vindictive and an eye for an eye is my rule.â Daisy Zaneâs hand went into her pocket, her posture straight, but one could sense her casualness and a touch of disdain for everything, âIf you annoy me, I wonât let you off.â
âWhat, what do you intend?â someone abruptly asked, âWe did not meddle with the affairs of William Lane, Amelie Quentin, or your parents. We just paid one small visit here, yet you dare threaten to kill us?â
âIt wonât go that far,â Daisy Zaneâs voice was soft, but commanded immense authority. âWithin a month, all the shares you hold will be recouped by the Lane family.â
âWhat? Reclaim our shares?â
âHow can they reclaim the shares? On what grounds are they reclaiming the shares?â
âFollowing your whims, you think you dictate all the decisions in the Lane Family?â
âIt was mutually agreed that everybody would get shares, how can it be recouped just like that?â
âUnless I die, forget about claiming back even a dime.â
Hearing about reclaiming shares aroused these relatives.
The reception room, for a moment, resembled a bustling marketplace.
Daisy Zane grabbed Kevin Clarkâs gun-clutching hand, held his hand, and pointed the gun straight at them.
They immediately quietened down, even taking several steps back to avoid the gun muzzle. The reception room submerged into silence.
âYou may be unaware.â Daisy Zane held the gun in her hand, unloaded the magazine, âPreviously when I was home, I was pampered and ruled unhindered. In this home, whatever I say goes.â
Old Master Lane glanced at her and then nodded, agreeing.
Kevin Clark also turned his head to look at her.
âIn this home, I indeed have the final say.â Daisy Zane casually proclaimed with great impudence.
Nobody spoke.
Allonzo Hobson scratched his cheek, Daisy was indeed the young lady of the Lane family â they couldnât simply constrain her.
Daisy Zane continued, âIâm short-tempered, impatient. Within a month, someone will contact all of you. Itâs in your best interest to cooperate, otherwise⦠the issue elevates from just reclaiming shares.â
Daisy Zane turned towards Oscar Turner and said, âHeâs just an example, but I wouldnât mind making examples out of all of you.â
âYou, youâre crossing the line.â another person stepped in, asking, âOld Master, are you not going to intervene? The Lane Family will turn into a banditâs den if left in her hands.â
âIndeed, indeed.â
Everyone echoed in agreement.
Old Master Lane, leaning on his cane, cleared his throat and declared, âI canât interfere. I donât have Lane familyâs shares, I have no say.â
All the relatives: â????????â Are you okay?
Just now, he was giving out to Oscar Turner, and suddenly now he claims to have no say?
Allonzo Hobson couldnât help but laugh at his double standards.
âIf youâre afraid it will turn into a banditâs den, hurry and return the shares.â Old Master Lane continued, âWhether the Lane Family turns into a banditâs den or a wolfâs pit, itâs none of your concern.â
All the relatives:
Daisy Zane subtly raised her eyebrow without showing much emotion.
The reception room went silent before someone retorted, âDonât intimidate us. Old Master has been in power for many years with a clean reputation in public. You dare let Lane family members do anything to us? Youâre merely trying to scare us off.â
âTo deal with you, we donât even need the Lane family.â Daisy Zane said, âDid you ever wonder how I managed to survive in the M Continent?â
All the relatives were taken aback.
Holt Lawrence spoke, âAllow me to introduce myself, Holt Lawrence, of the Celestial Pivot Detective Agency.â
All the relatives: â!â
âThe Celestial Pivot Detective Agency is independent of all families but only obeys Charlotte Lane.â After Holt Lawrence finished, he smiled and said, âI welcome all of you to become adversaries of Celestial Pivot.â
Suddenly, no one spoke anymore.
They all understood clearly. Even without the Lane family, there were various methods to deal with them.
Seeing they had quieted down, Daisy Zane issued an eviction order: âWe havenât prepared lunch for you all today, so you all should head back earlier.â
