No one knows that Jessica Maxwell is the leader of the hate group.
All we know is that the organization behind the Hate Group Leader is enormous.
So its sudden dissolution has caused quite a bit of attention.
[Didâ¦did the Third Master sue her?]
[I donât think it has much to do with the Third Master. I remember when he first sued her, she was quite arrogant. Everyone knows her family is rich, and they seem to live in the Imperial Capital and have some connections to the Clark Family. It wouldnât serve the Third Master well to meddle with her unless necessary.]
[Then what happened to her? Iâm not used to this.]
[She deleted all the negative posts about Miss Brook from her Facebook.]
[Iâm a fan from another fandom coming to gather some tips on how to dissolve a hate group.]
[Iâm a fan from another fandom too, witnessing this for the first time. Just a bystander.]
[Iâve heard of haters becoming fans, but never of the leader of haters becoming a fan.]
[Although this ex-hater suddenly started praising our Miss Brook. As a fan, I suddenly feel a bit lost for what I should do.]
[You guys, what exactly did Miss Brook do to receive such praise from a former hate group leader?]
â¦
When Jessica Maxwell quit the internet, Lila Campbell was playing chess with Old Master Lane at home.
They were sitting under a rose trellis, a mosquito coil burning next to the chess board, small colored lights illuminating the vine rack above them.
âLila, Charles Flores visited yesterday.â
Lila Campbell raised an eyebrow and took one of Old Masterâs knights on the chess board: âDid he come to see you?â
Old Master Lane chuckled, âWhy are you pretending to act silly now? When has he ever come to see me?â
âDuring Chinese New Year.â Lila Campbell answered.
âExactly.â Old Master Lane said with a clicking sound, âAnd I didnât actually ask when he came to see me. You little girlâ¦â
Lila Campbell smiled.
âThe older you get, the naughtier you become. Do you bully Arthur North every day?â
âGrandpa, I am your real granddaughter.â Lila Campbell reminded him.
Old Master Lane chuckled at her before speaking again, âCharles Flores wants me to persuade you to return to the Court Music Academy. He wants you to take over it.â
âGrandpa, Iâve already told my teacher that I lack the time,â Lila Campbell said gently, âThe research institute is demanding, and I donât have much time for anything else, not just the Court Music Academy.â
âIndeed, the Research Institute will keep you busy if thatâs where your focus is.â
Lila Campbell glanced at Old Master Lane and the corner of her mouth curled upward, but she didnât say anything.
Old Master Lane didnât notice her smile, he kept his eyes fixed on the chess board and continued, âCharles Flores said that if you go to the Court Music Academy, you will be its master. In the Research Institute⦠He said Dean Yue was unfair. He chooses not to use those with talent, preferring to let his own grandson take the position.â
Lila Campbell didnât correct him, she listened as Old Master continued speaking.
âLila, youâve always been a leader in what you do. In the Research Institute⦠donât you feel unsatisfied? â Finally, Old Master Lane voiced his real concern.
âGrandpa, being a leader doesnât necessarily mean I have to be the Dean in the Research Institute, does it?â Lila Campbell replied as she fondled a chess piece in her hand, âMy contributions have nothing to do with whether I am a dean or not. Like⦠even though I am not the official owner of Spotlight, my reputation as the Chief Designer has nothing to do with whether or not I am the CEO. My place within the jewelry design world remains secure even after I left Spotlight.â
Old Master Lane watched her. After a few moments, he chuckled and nodded, âIt appears I was being narrow-minded.â
Lila Campbell shook her head, âGrandpa, as you know, my ambition is vast. I want to climb to the top everywhere I go. I long for control, the feeling of having everything under my own hand.â
Old Master Lane watched as Lila Campbell calmly shared her cold indifference to everything else. She was completely detached from worldly cares and concerns.
âDean Yue showed me kindnessâ¦â Lila Campbell said, âI will do everything I can to help Turner Daniel. If he has the talent, I would gladly support him.â
Old Master Lane nodded.
âGrandpa, even though⦠Iâve been out of the house since a very young age, and I havenât been by your side for over a decade,â Lila Campbell said, âBut I have not forgotten your teachings.â
She never forgot.
Even when she lost her memory, when Edward Kirsten was her only support, she never forgot.
Thatâs why she vehemently disagreed with Edward Kirsten and refused to become someone like him.
Sheâs been away for so long, and Old Master Lane was worried that she had taken a wrong turn somewhere.
And given the decisions sheâs made since returning home and the rumors heâs heard, Old Master Lane felt a touch of concern.
Thatâs why she reminded her one more time.
âGeneral.â Charlotte Lane took Old Master Laneâs chess move.
Old Master Lane glanced at the chess board, heâd lost.
Old Master Lane: ââ¦Canât you take it easy on me?â
âYou should go to bed now.â replied Charlotte Lane.
ââ¦â¦â countered Old Master Lane,âitâs not even ten oâclock yet.â
âItâs nine fifty-two.â she said.
Old Master Lane didnât want to move.
Charlotte Lane glanced at him, pausing for a moment before suggesting, âStarting from tomorrow, weâre going to bed at nine.â
Old Master Lane: ââ¦â¦â
The housekeeper sitting by his side, laughed quietly to himself. Finally, someone was able to manage their Old Master. This thought made him accidentally chuckle out loud.
Old Master Lane looked at him: âWhatâs there to laugh at? Donât you know itâs time for bed? Itâs ten oâclock.â
The wronged housekeeper immediately stopped laughing, stood up and said: âItâs time for bed.â
Old Master Lane got up, and Charlotte Lane too, stood up with him.
âYou should go to bed early too.â Old Master Lane said to Charlotte Lane.
âOkay.â Charlotte Lane replied, âGoodnight, Grandfather.â
After waiting for Old Master Lane to return to his room, Charlotte Lane sat outside for a while longer.
She finished her call with Kevin Clark, and then received another call from Felix Baker.
Jace Miles wanted to see her.
Giving it some thought, he might want to discuss matters about the Miles Family, so she agreed and decided to meet after work the next day.
After ending the call with Felix Baker, Charlotte Lane went back to her room to sleep.
Meanwhile, on M Continent.
Due to the time difference, it was still day time in M Continent.
Stella Edwardsâ performance in M Continent ended two days ago.
After resting for two days at her hotel, she went to Edward Kirstenâs current location in M Continent.
Even though there was no communication between them, Edward Kirsten clearly knew her performance schedule.
So if she had a performance, there was a high probability that Edward Kirsten would be here in the days following the end of the performance.
Like always, Stella Edwards arrived at this location by car.
The courtyard was also as usual, full of servants and bodyguards.
All familiar faces that would be in the mansion whether Edward Kirsten was there or not.
Stella Edwards asked at the entrance if Henry Kirsten had arrived.
They said he had.
Stella Edwards was still somewhat happy.
No matter if the person in his heart was her or not, she was still happy because he came here.
Stella Edwards quickened her pace a bit towards the courtyard.
She first went to the front courtyard, after not finding anyone there, she went to the backyard.
However, just as she was about to reach the backyard, being two to three meters away from the Moon Gate, she suddenly heard the sound of a cup shattering from inside the room in the backyard.
The noise was loud, even from this distance, it could be heard that it was forcefully thrown on the ground.
Startled, Stella Edwards stopped moving, unconsciously sidestepping to avoid directly standing in front of the Moon Gate.
Immediately after, a sharp clamor of a slap was heard.
And then Edward Kirstenâs furious roar: âAlice Eugene! How dare you defy my command and target Enigma Starry!â
