Vincent
Looking at Alyssaâs face, I saw a tear emerging from her eyes. I could feel her emotions as I was holding her. I heard echoes but couldnât make them out or what they were saying. I didnât know what to do. I feel helpless; I hold her hand and hope she can feel my touch. âAlyssa, Iâm right here,â I said, holding her close.
âAnymore ideas?â Jacob asked.
âFor some reason, we canât move her, and examining her could trigger another energy blast. Also, we might hurt Vincent in the process. So, Iâm all out of ideas.â Dr. Solus said.
âThere must be something we can do,â Izzy cried.
âSheâll be fine honey, we just have to wait.â Annabeth embraced Izzy.
Izzy started breaking down crying on Annabethâs arm. âItâs all my fault; I knew her head was hurting; I should have taken her to the doctor.â
âHey, itâs not your fault. Yesterday, you told me not to blame myself for not being able to help Audrey. Iâm sure as hell not letting you blame yourself for this.â Annabeth said. âNone of us saw this coming.â
âI want to go home, but I canât leave her here,â Izzy said.
âGo, Isabella; I will contect you if anything changes,â Jacob said.
âThanks, Jacob. Do you think Vincent will be alright?â Izzy asked.
âWhen Alyssa was in the hospital, Vincent never left her side, and I think that was when he knew Alyssa was his mate,â Jacob said. âNow that Vincent has found his true mate, I wonder what is going on in his head right now, now that he knows her.â
âCommon, weâll go home for a few hours, then come back.â Izzy said.
I saw that Izzy was initially hesitant but let Annabeth lead her away.
âDoc, any idea how long weâll be staying here?â Jacob asked. âIâve been meaning to ask somthing?â
âNone, but what did you want to ask me?â Dr. Solus said.
âThis might be a stupid question cause it could be the mate bond between them but why was Vincent the only one affected when we tried to move Alyssa?â Jacob said.
âI donât think it was the mate bond, Jacob. But it would make sense if it was.â Dr. Solus said.
âEver since Vincent met her, he has barely stopped thinking about her.â Jacob said.
âAstarot and Dahlia made a connection before Vincent and Alyssa did themselves.â Dr. Solus said.
âVincent, the Elders are here, we must protect our mate.â Astrarot said.
âIf they dare take her from us, we will make them pay. Father will help.â I growled.
âVincent, the Elders!â Jacob touched my shoulder.
I looked at the people in the distance and saw Scarlett and Preston walking toward us.
âTake it easy on them; shifting out of anger is not going to help anyone, especially your mate,â Jacob looked me in the eyes.
âI wonât make any promises, Jacob. Iâm the White Dragon; they will submit to me; Iâm one of the goddessâs last descendants, and Iâll be damned if they take whatâs mine.â I said. âDoc, watch over Alyssa while I deal with this.â
Dr. Solus nodded while Jacob and I walked toward the elders.
âScarlet, Preston. What are you doing here?â I asked.
âWe came to check on the situation.â Scarlett said.
âYou could have called Alexandria for that,â I said.
âYou really want to challenge an Elder, Prince Vincent? We both know that youâll never beat me,â Scarlett smirked.
âAstarot and I will tear you apart. You have no idea what Iâm capable of.â My blue eyes turned white. âSubmit!â
âEverybody, clam down. I know our last encounter was a bit rough, but letâs not repeat that,â Preston said. âI promise we are only here to help,â
âDoes this bitch have to be here as well?â I hissed.
âWatch it, boy!â Scarlett growled.
âScarlett and I are a team, and she has promised to control her temper this time, and with respect, Prince Vincent, I expect you to do the same.â Preston said.
Every instinct I had was telling me to tear Scarlettâs head off. But Jacob is right; shifting or instigating a fight would create more trouble.
âVery well, but you only do something with talking to me first.â
âThatâs fine, right Scar,â Preston said.
âUnderstood,â Scarlett grunted.
âWhat is Alyssaâs status?â Preston asked me.
I explained to Scarlett and Preston the events leading up to their arrival.
âSo now we can only wait until Alyssa wakes up or thereâs any change.â I explained.
âSo how long since it happened?â Scarlett asked.
âAround eight hours since Alyssa collapsed.â I lowered my head. âAnything youâd like to share?â I glared at Scarlett.
âWhat? Am I not allowed to think?â Scarlett said with a sarcastic tone.
âI know damn well what you think of her, so forgive me for being skeptical.â I growled.
âGuys! You both promised.â Preston yelled.
Scarlett and I glared at each other. Astarot was growling at me to lunge at her to rip her apart.
âGuys!â Dr. Solus yelled out to us. âIâm getting some strange readings from Alyssa.
âWhat kind of readings?â Preston asked him.
âIâm not sure, but her mind is becoming more active.â Dr. Solus said.
âMind of I have a look?â Preston said.
âWhat do you think you could do?â I growled.
âPreston has been trained to use his magic to heal. Youâre lucky heâs even offering to help you.â Scarlett growled.
âScarlett is right; I can use my dragon magic to heal Alyssa. Iâve been trained to use my magic outside my dragon form, and as a dragon myself, I can understand those reading from her better.â Preston said.
Thatâs impossible; I thought a dragon couldnât use magic outside their dragon form. But with enough training, we can be able to use our magic.
âHeâs not wrong about that, and besides, Iâve dealt with this situation before, so extra hands will be helpful.â Dr. Solus said.
âOkay, but please be careful. Jacob call Isabella, she needs to know whats going on.â I said.
Preston and Doctor Solus kneeled next to Alyssa and started to use his magic. âStrange, something is going on in her mind. The doctor isnât wrong.â
What is going on with her?
âEVERYONE GET BACK!â Doctor Solus shouted.
Before I responded, Solus grabbed me away and did the same with Preston as another magical blast pushed us against the sand. The light blinded me. I tried to turn on my dragon vision to see what was happening around me, but it wouldnât turn on. I called Astarot, but he didnât say a word; then, my focus turned to Alyssa. My fears were confirmed when I looked back and saw that she wasnât there.
âAYLSSA! Sheâs gone,â
âNo, Vincent, look up!â Jacob said.
I knew she was alive through the mate bond, but I looked up to the sky and was greeted by the most beautiful sight Iâd ever seen. She was flying amongst the clouds, catching the sunlight on her wings.
It was a giant Golden Dragon.
