Lyra 'Ivana' Arakan, the youngest member of the Arakan family, and an only child.
She belongs to a well-respected and feared, ancient pureblood family.
They are a family of prestige and old money, with a lineage that traces back centuries to some of the most powerful magical bloodlines.
Her father, Zephyr Arakan is a powerful figure within the family.
He is a former Slytherin himself, and has dangerous ties among death eaters and other such. He also worked in the ministry of magic for nine years, before he quit for unknown reasons.
He has sworn to his daughter, Lyra, that he would never become a death eater, but she suspects otherwise, but chose not to say.
On the other hand, Miselda Arakan, Lyra's mother is very open to the fact that she is a death eater, boasting and cheering about it any chance she gets.
She is known for her cold, calculating demeanour. She has even been rumoured to have worked with Bellatrix Lestrange.
However, she can be kind and warm when needed, but she gave Lyra a kind of a.... though time growing up.
Now, there is Lyra's Uncle, Silas Arakan, who is a famous Death Eater, although no students in Hogwarts know about him.
Unlike his more careful brother Zephyr, Silas fully embraces Voldemort's vision.
â
The Arakans maintain alliances with families such as the Malfoy's, Blacks, and Lestrange's, sharing a common ideology of blood purity.
However, not all pureblood families support the Arakan's brand of ambition. The Arakan's are known to have rivalries with the Prewett family.
Their rivalry with the Weasleys runs deep and dark, rooted in old disagreements about power and purity, which is why Lyra's encounters with Fred always feel charged with more than just Quidditch rivalry, but they never mention it.
Lyra found out quickly in her childhood that she was connected to some people, but she never meddled on the thought.
Zephyr Arakan and Orion Black were close allies, even friends, discussing how to manipulate events in the Ministry to favour their ideals of pureblood superiority.
Zephyrs dealings behind closed doors helped ensure that the Arakan family's interests were protected, while the Blacks often took more public, and therefore more dangerous, positions.
Silas Arakan, Lyra's uncle, had a deep admiration for Regulus Black during Voldemort's first rise to power.
They shared a strong conviction in the Dark Lord's cause, and while Regulus later had a change of heart, Silas never wavered in his commitment.
But when it came to Sirius Black, the Arakans, especially Lyra's father and uncle, held a particular disdain, and disliking for Sirius Black, viewing him as the 'black sheep' of the Black family.
His defiance of pureblood traditions and connections with Gryffindors, made him a traitor in their eyes, and they chose not to interact with him, and completely ignore him.
So, you might guess how Lyra's parents reacted when they read about his escape from Azkaban.
â
"He escaped Azkaban?" Zephyr yelled out in distraught, tearing the newspaper in two. Lyra watched as her parents yelled back and fourth, how could he have done it, or, do you think he will come for us.
"I am sure he will leave us be, don't worry father." Lyra reassured her father. His breathing calmed by her comment, but the frustration could still be seen in his eyes.
"She is right, dear. No need to worry about this matter, if he comes for us I will personally murder him myself." Miselda comforted her husband, with a crazy look in her eyes.
Lyra shook her head at her mother's vile behaviour, but didn't speak anything of it.
"Well, onto other matters then. Have you finished packing your bag sweetheart?" Zephyr asked Lyra calmly. Lyra shook nooded her head as a yes.
"Good, well then. Missus will take you Diagon Alley before you take the train to Hogwarts." Her father said, before summoning their house elf, 'Missus'.
Lyra said farewell to her family, and in an instant Missus teleported the two to Diagon Alley, where she would purchase her school-stuff for her fifth year.
She bought new books, as well as a new suitcase.
"Alright then, I am done." Lyra told Missus. Lyra and Missus has always been close. Since Lyra is an only child, she only had Missus to rely on when she felt bored.
"What about a new broomstick, ma'am," Missus asked, pointing towards the Nimbus 2000 in the window a couple meters away from them.
"No need," Lyra smiled. "Father has already bought the 2001 model for me."
Missus snickered at this, the innocence in Lyra's face as she casually talks about a broomstick most of wizard- and witches can't afford.
"Alright then, shall I bring us to the platform 9'3/4' then?" The house elf asked, and Lyra nooded. And in a second they were at the platform, which seemed busier than usual.
Lyra spared a glance at her clock, before taking a double look. She had two minutes to enter the crimson red train.
She gave Missus a firm hug, before hurrying off into the train, disappearing in the crowd.
