Dear Sweetheart Chapter 257 Never Thought I Would Like You This Much 2 Wyatt shot Curtis a glance and asked with a mischievous grin, âHey, Curtis! Whatâs with that outfit? Are you planning to go on a date with Ms. Garland today?â
Curtis shot him an icy-cold glare. âF*ck off!â
âSure thing!â
Wyatt was about to leave when Curtis called out to him, âWait!â He then shifted his gaze toward the bag of breakfast in Wyattâs hand as he asked, âWhy did you bring breakfast over?â
âMy girlfriend lives here. I donât think thereâs anything wrong with me bringing my girlfriend breakfast, is there? Well, I doubt someone like you would understand, though.â
âIâll go upstairs with you,â Curtis said while locking his car doors.
âA-Are you going to steal my girlfriend, Curtis?â Wyatt asked with a terrified look on his face.
âDonât worry. Unlike you, my taste isnât that strange.â
âHey! Jessie is cute, okay?â Wyatt snapped back at him angrily, only to shrink in fear when Curtis shot him a cold glare.
Jessica came running toward the door when she heard the doorbell. She had just opened the door when Wyatt gave her a kiss on the cheek.
âHey, Jessie! Did you miss me?â
âNo! Why would I miss someone who just ruined my makeup?â Jessica replied with a pout and smacked his head aside. That was when she saw Curtis standing behind Wyatt. âOh, Mr. Faymon! Youâre here too?â
Curtis nodded and said calmly, âYes, I came to see Ms. Garland.â
âAh, you came at the wrong time, Mr. Faymon. Nana isnât in at the moment.â Jessica deliberately raised her voice as she added, âShe went to keep her mother company at the hospital yesterday night.â
âIs that so?â Curtisâ penetrating gaze sent shivers down her spine.
Jessica nuzzled against Wyattâs chest. âY-Yeah! You should go look for her at the hospital, Mr. Faymon. Weâre about to have breakfast now.â
âYouâre scaring my girlfriend, Curtis. Ms. Garland isnât here, so you should seek her out at General Hospital. Itâs only a few minutes away!â Wyatt complained with a displeased look on his face.
Curtis was about to turn around and leave when one of the bedroom doors opened. Rayna then stepped out in her pajamas with her hair in a total mess.
Unaware of Curtis and Wyatt standing at the door, she said, âCould you help take out the trash, Jessie? Oh, by the way, just give him the name of a random hospital if he asks. I donât want him looking for me thereââ
It wasnât until she turned and saw the people at the door that she froze in shock.
âGood morning, Ms. Garland,â Curtis greeted her with an eyebrow arched.
Rayna paused for a few seconds before running back into the room and shutting the door.
âBabe, I thought you said Rayna went to the hospital last night?â Wyatt asked in surprise.
âYeah, she did. Maybe she came back in the middle of the night!â Jessica replied with an awkward chuckle.
Oh, Rayna! You wanted me to help cover up for you, and yet, youâre the one who exposed yourself to him!
Noticing the look on Curtisâ face, Wyatt knew it would be a bad idea for them to stick around. He quickly placed the food down on the dining table and grabbed Jessicaâs coat and handbag.
âYou havenât had breakfast, right, Curtis? Iâll leave this food here for you and Rayna. Jessica and I will have our breakfast outside instead,â he said while dragging Jessica out the front door.
Jessica was still shivering in fear when they got inside the elevator. âDo you think Nana will be okay?â
Wyatt clicked his tongue. âItâs hard to say. You saw the look on Curtisâ face.â
Curtis sat down in the living room and waited patiently. After what seemed like forever, he glanced at his watch and frowned impatiently.
That woman has been in there for an hour!
He then walked up to the room and knocked on the door. âMs. Garland, Iâll kick the door open if you donât come out in ten minutes,â he said before returning to the couch.
Curtis arched an eyebrow when he saw that the door remained shut ten minutes later. He was about to kick at the door when it opened from the inside.
âWhat is it, Mr. Faymon?â Rayna asked with a displeased look on her face.
Curtis handed her a tote bag. âI got this as a gift while shopping for clothes. Go ahead and get changed. Weâre going on vacation.â
âIâll be visiting my mom at the hospital later.â
âOkay, Iâll send you there.â
âShe doesnât want to see you.â
âThatâs fine. Iâll wait for you outside the ward.â
Rayna gave up on trying to come up with excuses after he countered them all. âFine, Iâll go out with you. I have my own set of clothes, though.â
âIf you choose to wear your own clothes, then you wonât be allowed to wear a face mask,â Curtis replied nonchalantly.
âOkay, Iâll get changed!â Rayna shouted through clenched teeth as she snatched the tote bag from his hands. Right as she was about to shut the room door, her Ragdoll kitten came running out and bumped into Curtisâ leg.
Curtis tensed up instantly, and his expression turned gloomy when he lowered his gaze and saw the furry creature nuzzling against him.
He then looked up at Rayna and said, âGet your cat away from me.â
âThis is my place, so it can go wherever it likes.â Rayna flashed him a mischievous grin as she continued, âIâll go get changed now. Youâd better not bully my cat!â
The corner of Curtisâ lips twitched as he stared at the white cat fur on his pants. He tried moving his leg away, only to have the kitten meow as it rolled over and lay on his foot.
As if having a dog at home wasnât bad enough, now I have to deal with a cat as well! The dog wasnât all that furry, but this cat is practically a huge ball of fur! I donât understand what Rayna likes about it!
âDo you mind getting off me? Get off me, I said! I have a bad temper, you know? Iâll kick you if you donât get off my foot! Hey, donât look at me like that! Roll over right this instant!â
Just like that, Curtis stood there in the living room and threatened the kitten for about three minutes straight.
Eventually, it rolled over to the side. Seizing the opportunity, Curtis pulled his leg free and ran toward the couch.
However, the small creature was faster and charged at his leg before he could even sit down.
Curtis let out an amused chuckle when he saw how clingy the cat was. He didnât dare touch the catâs fur, so he could only stare at the animal and let out a helpless sigh. âIf only your owner would cling to me like you do.â
Hmm... Then again, Rayna wouldnât be herself without that temper of hers. I like her because of how feisty she can be.
Rayna vaguely heard Curtis say something as she was coming out of her room. She asked, âWhat did you say?â
âI said the cat is really cute,â Curtis replied as he looked up and saw her wearing a casual outfit that matched his. She had on a pleated skirt that exposed her slender legs for the world to see.
Her appearance was lovely, but Curtis was displeased.
âYou have sweatpants, donât you? Why would you wear a short skirt?â he asked with an unhappy frown.
âIâm not going for a run, so why would I wear sweatpants? Theyâre so ugly! This skirt, on the other hand, goes well with my top.
Also, it has shorts underneath, so no oneâs going to see anything.â
âArenât you worried your legs would feel cold?â
Rayna looked out the window. âItâs not cold outside. Look, the sun is shining brightly in the sky!â
âGo get changed!â
Rayna lost her temper when she heard that. âIâm not changing! Youâre the one who asked me to go out with you, so why are you making so many ridiculous demands? Listen, you can either go out with me looking like this or get out of my house!â
Realizing that she was genuinely angry at him, Curtis took a step back and said, âFine, you can wear a skirt, but it has to be long enough to cover your ankles.â
Rayna was close to punching him in the face at that point. âIâd rather wear sweatpants than go out in a skirt that long!â
âThen go put on your sweatpants.â
Rayna glared furiously at him for a few seconds before storming back into her room.
