Colton looked between us. Probably wondering should he get involve or not. I rather, him not.
" I'll meet you outside Colton." I rubbed his shoulder and gave him a subtle shove.
" He's not the reason why I'm avoiding you. Plus why do you care what I'm doing?" I told him off.
" I' m worried about you. Cause you my girlfriend ...or at least you were." He turned around to walk off.
" How dare you try and act like a victim. After you and Lydia made. Me look stupid."
" What are you talking about...." Tolan stopped mid sentence. "You are crazy. If you upset about her tutoring me."
People started stopping and watching us. They didn't make a circle or anything, but I did feel they, had their eyes on us.
I guess Tolan sensed my discomforted, and pulled me into the hallway. Than he pulled me into a bedroom. Closed the door.
"You had tutoring classes with Lydia? What else have you been hiding?" I inquired calmly.
" I'm not hiding a thing?"
" Than you would have told me. Especially when you, know how I feel about her. It's like you and your best friend go out, of your way to make me look dumb." I said while rolling my eyes.
" Get over yourself you don't see me getting upset, with you spending time together with Bowie. Plus that weirdly, close relationship you have with Colton. Don't think I didn't see you guys, in the bleachers. With your head on his shoulder." He stopped to take a deep breath. "Look the only reason, I asked her help. Was because I was failing APA math."
"Well you don't see. Bowie and Colton trying to get in the middle, of our relationship. Like tell me what was, the reason for Lydia wearing your jersey." I sat down on the bed.
" Is this what it's all about a jersey. A STUPID jersey. So, you going to jump into Colton's arms cause of a jersey." Tolan followed behind towards the bed he stood across from where I was sitting.
" Don't start. At least Colton and Bowie appreciate me. YOU DON'T EVEN WEAR THAT BRACELET I GAVE YOU! I took a breath I turned around "You would rather wear that string. Then my bracelet I gave you. So do you blame me for being insecure?" i took a breath to calm myself. Then I continued "If the jersey is so stupid, why not just let your girlfriend wear it?"
He didn't move back, he stared me down. "I did. The reason, why she had the jersey was because she took it by accident. Yesterday it was on my arm chair." He ran a hand through his hair, as he spoke. "She texted me in the afternoon, she had it and will return it to me. But I told her she, should just give it to you."
" Than why didn't you text me to let me know. Or texted me at all?" I questioned him
" I miss placed my phone during practice. And I was looking for you before the game. Eddy gave it to me couple minutes ago "
I tilted my head in confusion, " Were you looking for me? To give me the jersey o to tell me Lydia had it?"
"No." He scoffed," for a good luck and a kiss cause I needed that from you. CAUSE YOU ARE IMPORTANT TO ME." He rubbed my shoulder " Plus I thought you would wear, your brother's jersey or something like that." Tolan tried to comfort me. "The reason why I didn't look for you was, because after that little altercation at the game shared you needed time to cool off."
I have never felt, so speechless. Perhaps I overreacted.
"Look I don't care what Lydia or anyone else does. You are my girlfriend we should, use our words to communicate. Only my words and direct actions should, get you upset at me. Not assumptions ." He took my hands in his, and kissed them.
" I still want to know about, that stupid string. Why you don't wear, the bracelet I gifted you."
" If you feel insecure about it I will throw it away." Tolan completely dodges my question.
I rubbed his shoulders, looked him in his eyes, " What does that string represent? Does it have something to do with Lydia?"
" No, my first girlfriend gave it to me......in kindergarten." He took the string and threw it out the window. I only had his words, so I didn't question further.
"When did you become so mature." I cupped his face
"The same day you became unreasonable." He said as I ran, a hand through his head.
" I'm really proud of you. The way you played." I said while genuinely meaning it.
"Wow , thanks." He kissed my cheek "That feels so long ago. "
" Swing by my place. I want to give something to celebrate your success." I said as . We shared a deep moment of happiness.
"I really love your dress. I love the color white on you." After he said that, he gave me a gentle twirl.

We soon walked out hand in hand. "Let's go outside."
As we walked out the door we saw Analia, Ace, Arden, Bowie, and Colton. Around a fire place.
As soon as we walked up to them, they notice us, but fell silent. Analia has clear confusion on her face but masks it with a shaky smile. The rest of them also share looks, of being perplexed and uneasy as they look between us.
" What you guys talking about?"' Tolan asked. It was a long awkward pause. Until Bowie cleared his throat.
"Oh just about how this is my last night, with you guys." Bowie stated. " I'm glad you guys came." Bowie ended
" Bowie you not dying . You moving to California. "Tolan stated back " this isn't a funeral let's play ball. Ace go get a ball, so we can make teams and play Infront of the beach."
" Yeah I agree we don't want his last moments to be sad" My brother Arden added
" Yeah we should make his last moments count. Ace said as, he removed. His arm from around Lia's shoulder.
" GUYS I'M NOT DYING" Bowie blurted out.
We all laughed. Tolan and Ace went, inside the house. There was this thick layer of tension that one could cut with a knife. Analia took my hand, pulled me to the side. Away from Colton, Bowie, and Arden.
" Bree, look I'm going to address the elephant in the room. Are you and Tolan okay?"
"Did Colton tell you?" I turned my head and yelled to Colton " Why did you. Tell them?"
"I didn't tell them nothing." Colton clarified with his hands raised in defense.
"I saw you guys. It was the first thing I saw. " Uttered Bowie, having a thin lipped smile.
" SAW it was more like heard." Analia added.
"We heard you guys arguing." Arden stated.
A coat of embarrassment was thrown on my back. " Couples argue all the time I explained."
Analia gave me a knowing look. " Okay I don't let Lydia be a problem. In your relationship." Before I could respond, she walked towards the camp. As I look at Bowie, Arden, and Colton.
Bowie bites his lip, while widening his eyes and looking down. Arden just followed behind Analia and than spoke up "Hey that wasn't necessary." Their voices got softer in the distance. As they walked off.
Colton raised his hands as, if saying 'don't attack me' and he turned around.
" Okay okay let's head to the beach" Ace yelled as he coming towards the campfire.
Tolan ran towards me laughing and smiling till he saw my face " You good?"
I leaned my head against his chest. Then nodded my head.

" I'm open. I'm open." I yelled
Colton was going to pass it to me. Till Analia tackled me. I swear Colton just laughed and walked towards the end zone. "Tolan do something?" I started wiggling under Analia " Get off me! I'm already down. Get up!" He starts to jog " honey I'm moving as fast. As I can!"
" Ace babe get him." I see Ace hiding a smile. I Finally wiggled, out of Analia's grip. Tolan continues to jog. "I'm open pass it to me. I want to score a touchdown." Tolan did as I requested. Than Arden picks me up and throws me over his shoulder, and Colton took the ball from my hands.
"Ref how you going to allow this." I looked at Bowie.
" I will allow it." Bowie said nonchalantly.
"Ref how can you allow this? Since when is it okay to lift a players on the field." As I was arguing with the ref. Ace scored a touchdown.
Analia hopped towards us and said "As fun as this was. I feel like Bree and I are the only, ones taking this serious." Out of breath might I add.
Bowie blew in his fingers to make, a whistling sound. We all jilt from the sound " Whatever do you mean? We were having fun."
Analia finally caught her breath " You boys aren't even tackling each other. It's just Bree and I, that are giving 100% ."
I start wiggling on Arden's shoulder " Good sir, would you let me, down let me down?"
He slightly bends over to let me down. I patted his head " I could use some drinks."
" Yeah we probably play volley ball or something later." Colton uttered while walking back from end zone.
"You can play volleyball?" Ace asked him with an eyebrow tilted upwards. Colton shrugged his shoulders and answered. " I think so, I watched the games.''
"Fine let's go inside and take a break." Tolan said
"No, Arden take my camera let's take pictures! We need memories. For Bowie" Analia said as she passes him the camera. She dug int her bag. And I saw something that grabbed my attention.
"Can I look at this glow stick for minute?" Analia nodded yes at my request.
I ran to Tolan jumped on his back, While he was on his way going in. He stumbled a bit " Hey what are you doing." I jumped off his back.
"Spin me around. Like they do in the movies." I said as I jumped off his back. And I raised my arms out to him.
He was trying to hide a huge grin, on his face. But he submitted to my request and span me around. I was giggling the whole time. Threw my head back, the glow stick was in my hands pointing over his shoulder.
As I looked at him. I made eye, contact with his eyes. I looked into those piercing eyes. Wondering what thoughts were running behind those eyes. Would these eyes love me for a life time or for a moment. Wondering will he enjoy happiness because of me or will he enjoy it after me.

"That was a picture perfect moment. I just had to take a picture." Bowie said behind the camera. I looked behind him. Analia was going inside the house. while Arden, Colton, and Ace. Were at the campsite.
I jumped off Tolan. Tolan walked towards the camera "This is really beautiful. Especially the background, the red at the bottom and the blue on top. We look like shadows, in front of a beautiful backdrop. Plus that glow stick adds, to the atmosphere."
As I walked over to look at the picture. It was breath taking "Hey Bowie this could be your hidden talent. " I murmured astonished.
He kicked a rock, " you think?" I nodded my head at Bowie, " I know."
" We should head in." Tolan took my hand gently. We walked behind Colton, Ace and Arden.
" Stand over here." I'll get us a drink here. He said to me, as we entered the living room.
As I look around I see Ally. She was talking to someone. Great Lydia is here too.
"Hey." I look up to see Ace. I was taken a back. " Wow you talking to me?" Ace scrunched up his face " Why you so taken aback?"
I scratched my head. "While based on our last altercation. I thought you hated me?"
"I can't hate you if you never did, anything to me personally." He said nonchalantly. "Look, I'm just her to apologize, for implying something about your relationship. It seems like you really, happy ."
"Well.. um thanks, Ace." He gave me a smile and walked off.
"I can't believe you. I thought you were my girlfriend!" The music stops
"Congratulates me in my face, but hoping for my downfall behind my back. Who needs enemies with a girlfriend like you Bree."
Bree? Is that Tolan calling me out. I finally see him, surface out of the crowd.
"What are you even talking about?" I asked him in a calm tone. As those words left my mouth a cold smile spread crossed his face. That caused my blood to run cold, he dug into his pockets. And played audio
"Who said I wanted to wear, his jersey in the first place. He didn't even touch the field, this whole time. "Everyone gasped around me.
"That is your boyfriend. How dare you humiliate him like that?"
"Who even said we were together? That's why he gave you that jersey, because you are second, best when it comes to me."
"Thats not true." Ally, Than Analia swiftly came to my defense. "We didn't want to say anything; but your friend, over there, was proud sloppy seconds."
As my own voice rang through my ears like swords. My legs felt like jelly. My heart drops to my toes. As I was standing up with the help of pride. Guilt kept punching me. I prayed to the ground to open, the gates and swallow me whole.

I enjoyed writing this. It took me 2 days to write. But it was worth it. Don't worry it gets more spicier.
