Chapter 7: Part 5

''Are you going to move out of the window? Or you just going to continue, being uncomfortable.'' I  slightly pushed Tolan to the side to see, who it was. It was Lia ''What on earth are you doing?''

''I think she  is trying to rob you.'' Lia gave him a glare .'' I was just in the neighborhood , so I thought let me visit my friend.'' To be honest I did not know what to think .

''So wait the door was broken? It was working just fine, when I was using it .'' Tolan questioned. She finally climbed through, the window and was standing on her feet.'' Look....... um T , can you please. "Wait in the living room?'' As I was talking to T , I saw in my peripheral view, Lia put a yellow envelope in her sweat pant's waist.

He nodded his head and walked off.

I  turned my head to look at her.  ''What's in that envelope?''

''Nothing ....just. I wrote something in this letter. So can put it on your night stand, so I can be all cryptic and mysterious. Like in the movies, but at the last minute I decided, to just  tell you in person.''

''What do you want to tell me ?'' I tilted my head to one side .

''I plead the fifth .'' she scratches her forehead.

I knitted my brows together'' What are you talking about? We are not in court.'' I spoke in confusion

''Ever heard the saying ignorance is bliss?'' She stated. ''NO.'' I answered as honestly as possible.

''Well you heard it now.'' She sucks in a breath, ''please you will find out I promise, I just  don't know how to tell you.''

We were going back and forth, but than I basically gave in.

''Since you are my best friend. I am going to trust you cause you seem........ adamant about this.'' I  looked her dead in her eyes and than added. ''I have my reservations, about this. Remember trusting you is my decision, proving my reservations right is yours.''

She nodded her head ''I  have to go . ''She was walking towards the door.'' WAIT! , for me to completely forget about this, you must leave the same way you came in.''  I said while trying to keep a straight face.

''What you can't be serious. It took me 25 minutes to get through this small window.'' She whined. ''Or you know you could ....''  I started.

She ran towards the window ''It's fine.'' I sat on the floor and watched her struggle. To get through my window, I was laughing tears  and clenching onto my chest.'' That's what  you get for keeping secrets.

Then the sad realization dawned upon me . My best friend is keeping secrets from me.

''She left.'' I said as I came, and  sat next to him.

'' The same way she came in ?'' I hit him lightly on his chest for clowning my friend. ''What time is  your mom coming back ?'' He put his arm around me while asking.

''She is coming back at 6:45.Right now it is 5:20.'' He put his arm around me.

''You look tense .'' I turn my head ''yeah, but I do not want to talk about it.'' He lowered his head ''maybe this would help.''    His  lips met mine. His hands, trail the side of my mountain. I could  feel my love, lifting him to higher places.

This was suppose to calm me down, but it just got my heart racing. My thoughts running .

''I  talked to your dad, that's how you got the name.'' I jumped so far away from Tolan, when I heard my brother's voice.

I quickly looked at the two boys, they had not seen us yet. My head turned to Tolan, he looks composed, he smiles  a reassuring smile.

''Shut up stupid.'' Colton shot back. ''Your head alone weighted a ton , so they gave you that name. In memory of your head.'' Saw Colton drop the grocery bags, and he jumped on Arden play punching him. They were fighting, I paid them no mind and stood up to walk towards the grocery bags.

I  pulled out mini nut packet, from the bag and started  eating them, don't know who the owner was. ''If you guys are done rough housing. Let me introduce you to my boyfriend.'' They  both stopped to look at me.

'' I know about  your boyfriend.'' Arden stepped forward and  stood  in front of him. I saw Colton sizing him up. Tolan stood there, he had a blank expression on his face. He stepped closer to the other two guys.

''He is a  wide receiver on the team. Him and his best friend are the only juniors on the senior team. Which is impressive guess he has some skill.'' Arden scoffed, while making direct eye contact.

''And you are Colton Graham, you finished school last year. You played  for our rival school, you were a mean Quarterback. I  wish I could have played against you.'' Than he turned his head to look at Arden.

''You have been the raining Quarterback for two years, since you were a junior. But we already met, during practice.'' Tolan spoke up.

''I met you as my teammate, not as my. Sister's boyfriend.'' Arden stepped closer to Tolan.

I jumped  in front of T ''On a completely unrelated note. Do all you players know each other ?'' I joked to try and lighten the mood, it was unsuccessful. They were all staring each other down. An idea popped into my head.

''It's 6 we need to start , cooking for dinner.'' I took Arden's hand, pulled him to the kitchen .''I can't cook.'' My brother responded, still ,staring down Tolan.   '' Well stand their and look pretty  ...YOU.''  I pointed to Colton.

''GO, and unpack your clothes. They can get all wrinkled and stuff.'' Colton tried to open his mouth to try and protest.  ''I said NOW.'' I used my best strict mom impression I could muster.

I heard them both mumble something under their breath. I walked back to Tolan ''Well ,okay madam.''

'' I  am so sorry. About that....... situation.'' Tolan kissed my cheek. ''It's not your fault. I have to, go text you later.''

Arden and I were busy making lasagna, and by we I mean me. He was playing drums, on the kitchen counter top.

I put the lasagna in the oven, then turned to look at him ''why don't you like him?''

''Who?'' He looked up at me in confusion.

I tilted my head to the side ''Tolan .''

''I don't hate him .... that boy has some serious talent. That friend of his too.''

'' I am confused than. Why did you and Colton treat him that way?''  I stop doing what, I was doing to look at him.

''Was he  scared ?Come on you my little sister, I had to scare him a bit." Arden  said while increasing his drumming.

''Whatever have your fun, please just don't kill him.'' He just laughed. I mentally prepared myself for the next conversation.

''How important, is it that I wear your jersey?'' A wide smile spread across his face. ''Very important you, are my lucky charm. Tell me how else would I have become, the best player in our state. Because you always wore my jersey.''

''Why you asking?'' He continued drumming, while asking me.

He moves aside, so I can place the lasagna in the oven.'' Because I just want to make sure you know, know my presence brings abundance."  I laughed nervously. At my own joke.

He gave me a smile, and started moving the dirty dishes to the sink .''Yeah , it's all you. Not me exercising and going on strict diets.''

''I am glad you understand.'' We both laughed, but I could not shake away the guilt that was creeping up.

I felt too guilty so I changed the topic, "So did dad, call you today.''  He was still busy with gathering all the dishes in the sink . ''Well he did text me. Why?"

'' Oh no  special reason .''It kind of stung, because I don't even remember, the last time I spoke to my father. He started walking towards the door. "HEY, where you going ?''I questioned him. He turned to look at me.

''I am done helping you, I have to go to Colton." Arden said absent mindedly.

''All you did is try to finish all the toppings, and gather all the dishes in the sink.'' I told him with a pointed eyebrow.

''EXACTLY, that was hard work, sis." He walked away without looking back with guilt. I turn around, and mentally prepare myself to wash  the dishes.

''Not me researching new recipes  for months, that suit your strict diets to make it more enjoyable for you, and on top of that finding ways,  to make comfort food more healthy, and making it!'' I yelled down the hall, so  that I could  guilt him, into coming back. "BUT IT'S FINE." I added sarcastically

He just yelled ''I am glad you understand!'' And he disappeared into the hall.

I started to smile, because I  realized he did way, more than I expected anyways. Now time to rinse and put those dishes in a dishwasher and set the table.

I started to walk towards the sink. My phone started to buzz.

"What in the world?" I said in confusion. As  I read the e-mail, on my phone. My heart started pounding.

I yelled "YES,YES, YES" I kept punching the air and jumping in a circle.

Colton and Arden ran to  the  kitchen, "What happen!" Arden asked

Colton had a bat in his hand, he lowered his bat. I laughed at his concern

"Everything is fine." I told them, while jumping around

Colton pulled his brows together, " You going to share, what got you jumping like a frog?"

"IN DUE TIME BOYS." I started to giggle, "At dinner to be specific, boys."

The both shared a look and walked out the door.

''So how was your day. It's so good to see you again.'' Mother smile towards Colton at the dinner table.'' Yeah I miss Denver, a lot and you guys are a valid excuses to come visit .''

''I would LOVE  to go stay in Seattle.'' My mother told the table. ''Very soon my bro would, come join me in Seattle, we would play ball at university.'' Colton said proudly

''Yeah I can't wait.'' Arden agreed, but he made no eye contact.

''Bree this food is amazing. ''My mother stated. The boys started to agree as well.

''Bree and Arden, I appreciate you both so much.'' I looked up at my mother, and we gave her a confused look.

''I know I work long hours, but the both of you never complained. When I come home the house is clean and their is always, food waiting for me on the table. I just want to let you both know I love you both dearly.''

''Thanks mom I  try my best .'' My brother basically rushes in to steal the shine.

Colton looked at him and said  ''Couple hours ago you did not even know, how TO use a dish washer.''

My brother gave me a look  ''I might have told him what you did.'' I said with a bright smile on my face. My mother just looked between, me and my brother and gave us a simper.

My mother and Colton continued to convers.

''So you think I forgot Bree, you promised to tell me and your brother something.'' So much happened, that I almost forgot. A smile broke out on my face.

I cleared my throat and stood up. ''Why are you standing my darling sister.''

''Hush my mega me .'' My brother  snickered at his, new beloved nickname.'' Today is a glorious occasion, take a good look at me because you my dear people, will be able to say you knew me back when.'' I made dramatic  hand movements, so they can get the full effect.

'' WOW, somehow you become even more dramatic, than I remembered you to be.....I don't even know how that is possible?''  Colton spoke in utter  disbelief.

''Silence child. This is history in the making.'' Colton was taken aback .'' Who is she calling a child, when I am the one that is older than her.'' My mother waved a hand to silence him.

She was clearly very interested. Colton gave up and slumped in his seat.

''I am going to the Dragon Ball.''

Everyone stopped eating, Arden was looking at me, his mouth was open their was food in his mouth. ''What did you say.'' My mother asked slowly.'' Now the food is falling out, my dear brother's mouth.

''I think she mentioned something about the Dragon Ball !''   Colton answered as he was starting to sit up right .

The next thing , I know. I feel a tingling pain going through my back. Something heavy laying on  me. My side felt heavy and I was staring at the floor. My neck was wet.
