Sophia's lashes flapped like butterfly's wings and slowly she opened her eyes only to espy Noah before her hazel globes, ensconcing himself in a chair and hitting his long slender fingers over the keys of his laptop continuously with his glasses on and sleeves folded.
She looked at him for some times, thinking how does he manage to look so captivating, so enchanting? As if, came straight out of some painting.
But on the spur of the moment, realization hit her, she saw around herself swiftly. She was in her room or one can say he was in her room, sitting sophistically. And predominantly, IV drip's cannula was attached to her left back of palm.
She sat abruptly and this caused her to feel a stroke of dizziness. She held her head using her hand so as to control it, but was unable to.
Noah noticed her unforeseen action and getting up from his seat he came cheek by jowl with her, holding a glass of water.
"Sophia, have this."
Noah enjoined Sophia extending a glass full of water in the direction of her, to which instead of laying hold of it, she questioned him back "Why are you here? How did you got in?"
Breathing out loudly, Noah answered her "You fell unconscious by the door, don't you recall so?"
Sophia glanced at Noah's pearly piercing eyes, which sent chills to her whole body, down the spine and spoke again "How long have I been out?"
"Sophia, don't you have knowledge of? It has been six months already."
Sophia stammered a little while speaking in state of shock on the fact that felt like a thunderbolt to her "Si-six months?"
Noah looked at her hazel beauteous eyes for some times and then burst out in a throaty laugh and spoke again "Oh Sophia! So naïve of you."
Sophia looked at him with confusion written over her face when Noah spoke again.
"I am hoaxing you Sophia, have this water, I'll be back in a second."
He started to walk out of the room but stopped in the track hearing her repeating her question in a soft voice "S-sir. how long have Lheen_out?"
He turned back to face her again and spoke "Hardly four to five hours. Your temperature was high. You were giving antipyretics with saline to bring down fever and replace the lost fluid. Doctor said it is basically because of malnutrition and stress."
He said all in a go without batting his lids looking directly at her hazel stones for longest time whereas Sophia simply nodded her head slightly deeply thinking something. After a pause he spoke again.
"I'll be back."
He went to the kitchen-diner and took out porridge from the container he prepared, in
a bowl and keeping a spoon alongside he went in back to her bedroom.
As he set his foot in room, he found her looking out of the window, immersed in some deep thoughts.
Noah cleared his throat to bring her out of her thoughts and his action caused her to turn her head in his direction. Noah walked by the bed and again sat at same spot, by the side of her.
He lifted the spoon with his long thin finger and blew it twice thrice to bring down the temperature of the porridge in it. After he felt it is in it's correct temperature, he extended his hand carrying spoon towards Sophia for her to have it but she moved her head more backwards and took spoon from his hand saying "I'll have myself."
After a pause she spoke again "Thank you for the meal sir."
"Don't be. By the way, why do you only have bread, noodles and eggs at home?"
She looked at his eyes with uncertainty filled her eyes and Noah spoke as if understanding her confusion "When I searched for items in your kitchen to prepare porridge I found nothing except of those I mentioned. What do you eat?"
"I eat what you found. I don't have time or money to prepare lavish dinners."
They locked there gaze with each other for sometimes and Sophia was the first one to remove her gaze from his penetrating one.
"Ahem, if you want I may finance your studies?"
He said getting up from the bed and making himself comfortable again in the chair he was sitting in, earlier.
Letting out a soft chuckle Sophia spoke "Free of charges?"
"Nothing is gratuitous in this world darling." Noah spoke letting out a laugh.
Sophia on the other hand didn't ask him about what he desires for on reciprocity with
her studies, instead she resumed eating her porridge. And Noah studying her manners spoke
"You don't want to complete your degree." And this was not his query rather declaration by him about her heart.
This made her turn her head to him to see the depthness of understanding he holds. How does he manage to always perceive her secrets? And again this was read by Noah easily and he opened his mouth again to answer her unasked question.
"Your expressions speak a lot. You are too easy to read, like an open book. Now tell me, why don't you want to give a chase to your degree?"
"I don't want to."
Sophia replied removing her gaze from his eyes and hanging her head low.

Well, I am aware of that vary fact. But sweetheart my question is why?"
"If I wished for I could have completed it by taking different type of loans that government offers. They would have even covered up for my accommodation and after college hours by working as part-timer, I could have covered the loan that my father took."
She stopped in midway; she felt her throat getting choked as lump formed in it and Noah also gave her some time for her to ease up on and after she was reassured enough she spoke again.
"My father was really good in sculpting, best of all. I have never ever seen a man as good as him and he wanted me to be like him. Best of the best. But he never did used it as a source of income neither did he wanted me to do the same. He wanted me to pursue it for him."
Sniffing she continued "It's not like he forced me to do so, I did it because I liked it too, but my Paa was my reason to sculpt. After I lost my parents, I had planned everything but the day I rejoined my college, my heart squeezed out of pain."
"I lost my hero, I lost my reason to continue. I never in my whole life felt that demotivated, I lost my will, my confidence to face everything. Losing one's parents is a big thing, a big change in life. I decided that vary moment I won't be a sculptor because I don't have my powers with me anymore."
"Lisa, my friend, offered me several times to rejoin the college, she said she'll be the one to lend a loan. For a moment or two I also thought it was a good proposal, I am almost in my early twenties I need to decide my career but every single time I do sculpting I remember my Paa if I become a sculptor how will I be able to do that work?"
"Moreover I can't take money from Lisa she won't let me return it to her and she had already done a lot for me. So it's better if I don't continue as a sculptor."
"After I am done with loan my father took I will live a peaceful life without stress in my home, where I shared several memories with my parents. I'll earn the only amount that is enough for me and not a penny more than that."
Sophia concluded her narration with a smile in hope of a better and bright future and Noah who was sitting quietly listening to her every word finally opened his mouth "And about your Paa? Will he be happy? Perceiving you decision from heavens?"
Let alone Sophia, even Noah was surprised at what he said. He never believed in concepts as life after death and heaven and all but he had this deep conversation about someone's life without getting bored for the first time and his heart not the brain went with the flow letting it out of his mouth.
Even Sophia had this conversation for the first time with someone. She didn't even shared her reasons of not to rejoin college with Lisa though, she asked several times. Noah's statement made Sophia to look at him and found his eyes were already at her. "My Paa would be sad. He won't be happy." She almost said it like a whisper.
"You said you want to live at the house which is filled with memories of you with your parents?"
To Noah's question, Sophia nodded her head slightly.
"How will you able to, if you are this vacillating where you are not able to pursue your dream degree just because your father also loved it, how will you be able to live in the house filled with their memories?"
This pushed Sophia to think deeply about everything.
"And as far as I can guess you don't live there because of that vary reason?" Noah pushed Sophia's button for the second time, trying to speak as softly as he could be.
"No it's not true." Sophia replied in an instance almost like a scream. Noah saw this version of her for the first time. "That place is far away from my workplace, why won't
1-"
"Sophia stop fooling yourself. No one you're fooling, absolutely no one. You are playing a trick on you yourself, with your brain and no one else."
This time Noah spoke almost like scolding and screaming at her. This moistened her hazel eyes and tears fell from her them, when she was not able to contain them properly. Seeing her Noah realized he should not have shouted at her. Sighing he got up from his seat and sat at her side. He extended his hand so as to approach Sophia to hold her cheeks in his palms, but she moved back. Retrieving his hand back he exhaled out loudly and he spoke again after a moment. "Sophia, try to understand and accept the truth. Your parents are no more and life is like this. Loss of precious souls is a part of it."
And his this statement caused Sophia to burst into tears of distress and she cried out loudly saying "Sir, it hurts a lot. A lot than anyone can even think of. It makes me distress. I am not able to handle these things. They were my only precious things I had with me. They died right in front of my eyes."
She cried out loud and Noah let her. He just patted her back softly as she didn't like his touch, yet.
"But you have to live for them, go on for them. You can't be distressed forever."
Sophia nodded her head lightly and kept on crying.
After sometimes when she had calmed down enough Noah spoke "Don't cry Sophia, try to smile more it suits you."
She turned her gaze at his direction and kept on staring at him. After sometimes she nodded her head slowly and spoke sniffing "I am sorry."
"Don't be. You almost frightened me that I made such a beautiful girl cry."
And hearing him both, let out light smiles and Noah when noticed her smile almost got mesmerized.
And as if he doesn't have any control over himself he spoke to her leaning in so as to near her "You look like an angel when you smile."
Hearing him Sophia turned her head to face him and saw him approaching his face towards her's. This time she remained still as if her brain is being control by someone else and not her.
When she didn't move, he took it as a sign of acceptance and bent in more. His lips were just a few inches away from her lips when he lifted his eyes and peeked in her hazel coloured beautiful eyes and without closing his gray's, he brushed his lips slightly over her's.
And that's it, just a little touch sent millions of thunder traveling over his body and centered over his lips. He felt as if to hold this moment forever. Just as his lips touched Sophia's she came back to her senses as if someone woke her up from deep sleep and realized what is about to proceed following this.
She in a second turned her face away from him, letting him hang over there, kissing the thin air.
