"Violet, I didn't know it costs that much. I would've put my things back so it could be cheaper," Violet chuckles.

"Don't worry about it. It usually costs that much every day when we go to the store. Yours and Charlotte's two things didn't make this price. It's how much it costs for lunch, dinner, snacks, and breakfast for two kids, a husband, and me. You two only add fifty dollars, which isn't much."

"Well, I can pay you fifty dollars for feeding us," Violet laughs.

"Don't worry about it. You're my guest and my little sister. You don't have to pay for anything."

"Well, I feel like I have to pay for something," I see Violet light up.

"How about lunch? I know this Diner downtown. It's super delicious. We can drop the food off at home and eat there. You could pay for that if you want."

"Didn't we pick up lunch already?" Violet chuckles.

"Yes, but I don't feel like cooking, so I thought we could eat at a Diner together. If you don't want to, I could fix something quick at home," I smile.

"Of course, I want to eat with you. We'd love to go to the Diner," Violet smiles.

"So, how do you know Mr. Winters?" I see Violet swallow.

"Dave works for him. He's a very strict boss. What about you?" I look out the window.

"What about me?"

"How do you know, Mr. Winters, duh," I hear her chuckle.

"Well, Mr. Winters asked one of the strippers for a lap dance. I volunteered, and it went from there. Later on, he became my boss by buying the club. Ever since then, I've been running into him."

"You met him stripping?"

"Yeah. Mr. Winters was mean at first, and then I drew him in, and he couldn't keep his eyes off me."

"Sounds spicy. There's only one question to ask now. Do you like Mr. Winters?"

"Yeah. I do, but Mr. Winters doesn't like me," I see Violet roll her eyes.

"How do you know that?"

"Well, when I'm near Mr. Winters, he never talks."

"That's because Mr. Winters likes you. I've never seen that man give anything up for free, and he gave you one of his custom-made blankets and a jet ride."

"Well, not just that. Mr. Winters also gave me a jet ride here," Violet looks at me.

"Really? Mr. Winters never mix business with pleasure," I laugh.

"How do you know he got pleasure from me?" Violet laughs.

"Girl, look at you. You blush when you say his name. You got a blanket and a jet ride from him. I'd say you two have something going on," I roll my eyes.

"Nothing is going on between us. I told Mr. Winters I'm my own person, and so is he."

"Mhm, sure. Nothing all right," I roll my eyes.

"Did you tell Violet about Evan?" I look at Charlotte.

"Who's Evan?"

"No one," I fake smile.

"Evan's our new hot next-door neighbor. Evangeline met him by running into him while doing something stupid. He helped her up with his big-strong arms, and she squeezed them. Evan is nice, rich, and hot, and he likes Eva," I cover my face, embarrassed.

"Oh, he sounds hot."

"Oh, you have no idea. Evan's shirts are tight on his abs, and you can see it. When you hug him, you can feel his muscles squeezing you," I roll my eyes.

"Charlotte likes Evan, too," Violet chuckles.

"Don't get me wrong, I like Mr. Winters, too. He's mysterious, rich, and hot, but he doesn't like me. I have a shot with Evan," I hear Violet laugh.

"I remember when I met Dave. I thought he was mysterious, handsome, and charming, but now he looks at me like I'm no good," I look at Violet.

"You are good enough. It's Dave that's the creep, and he's got fat. You may have birthed the kids, but he looks like he did it," I hear Violet laugh.

"Yeah, he got fatter, and so have I, but I still love him. It's hard to move on from someone you fell in love with and have been married for all these years."

I see Violet pull into the driveway of her house.

"This emotional talk has got me almost in tears. Come, help me get the groceries in before they fall."

Charlotte and I carry in groceries while Violet stores them away. We get in the car, and Violet drives us to the Diner. Violet parks, and we go inside and sit at a booth. I see a waitress come up to us.

"Welcome to Charlie's Burger Shack. What can I get for you girls today?"

"I think I'll get a salad and water. What about you two?" I roll my eyes. I look at Charlotte.

"I'll take an avocado burger with a coke," I see the lady look at me.

"I'll take the same as her, but instead of coke. Can I get a sweet tea?"

"All right, sure thing. I'll have it right out for you girls," I watch the waitress leave.

"A salad? Really?"

"Dave said I need to watch my weight and what I eat. I don't have the digestive system as you two do anymore. Ever since I had kids, I gain weight like crazy," I roll my eyes.

"Fuck Dave. Eat whatever you want, and don't give a shit about him," I see Violet look down at the table.

"Look, I know you love Dave, but you can do better than Dave. I know you can," Violet looks at me and smiles.

"Thanks for believing in me, sis."

It was quiet for the rest of the evening. We got our drinks, ate, pick up the kids, and drove home. The kids made drawings for us which was sooo adorable. Violet cooked dinner as Charlotte and I played with the girls. Me and Charlotte helped tuck the girls in bed, and then we went to bed.

I wake up, and it's already Thursday. I change into a sports bra and leggings for my morning jog. I walk downstairs. I look into the kitchen and see Charlotte, Violet, and the girls eating pancakes.

I go out the front door and start jogging. I jog faster until my legs hurt. I stop and rest to catch my breath, feeling myself covered in sweat. I look around and see the sun rising. I start to run back to Violet's house.

Once I reach the steps to the front door, the door opens. I see Dave coming out. I see him shut the front door.

"Well, good morning," I see him smile as he looks me up and down.

"Morning, Dave. Off to work already?" I see his smile disappear.

"Yeah. The office is calling me in early, but if I had it my way. I'd stay here all day," I see him smile, looking at me. I roll my eyes.

"I bet so, I'm sure the boss is really strict. I'm sure Violet and the kids would love you staying, but it's too bad you're going in early. Have fun!" I walk inside and shut the door behind me. I walk into the kitchen.

"Hey, Eve. It's about time you're awake," I chuckle.

"I didn't want to waste my day away. I just had an awkward encounter with Dave. He keeps staring at me every time he sees me. I'm sweating like a pig, and he's still staring at me," I see Violet take a sip of coffee.

"So, today's your last day?"

"Yeah, I don't want to go, but I have to work."

"Why don't you ask Mr. Winters for Charlotte and you to take another week off since it is your birthday next week."

"I don't know. I don't think I can get another week off. I've already taken a whole week off. I'm supposed to be back to work on Saturday. All you did was the same thing every day," I roll my eyes.

"So? It was paradise."

"Ask off another week, please?"

"I don't know," Violet grabs Kayla and Tia.

"Okay, girls. Batt your eyes, frown your eyebrows, and look sad," I see Violet, Kayla, and Tia make puppy dog faces.

"Oh, no! Not the puppy faces! That's my weakness. All right, fine. I'll see what I can do, but first I have to take a shower."

"It's about time, stinky. I can smell you all the way over here," I roll my eyes as Violet, Charlotte, and the girls laugh.

I go upstairs to my room and get in the shower. As I shower, I think about what to say to Mr. Winters. I step out and wrap the towel around my dripping-wet body as I grab my phone to text Mr. Winters.

I start by sending Mr. Winters a "Hey!"

I wait for his reply, and he sends a question mark. Well, here goes nothing.

"I was wondering if I could get next week off, too," I see his text replying and then disappear. Damn, he takes a long time to reply.

"No."

"Please! It would really mean a lot to me. Plus I never miss a day, or ask off, and I'll owe you one," I see him typing.

"Ok, but you owe me. See you after your vacation." Yes! I did it! I jump up and down while holding my towel from excitement.

"Thank you sooooo much for letting me off! <3" I send that last message, and he leaves me on read. I hurry up to get dressed, putting on jeans and a red shirt, and run downstairs. I run into the kitchen and stop. My smile fades as I see Dave eating next to the kids. I fake smile.

"Hey, Dave! So nice to see you. I thought you were going to work?" I see Dave smile at me.

"Dave's going in late. He decided to have breakfast with the girls before they go to school," I see Violet kiss Dave on the lips, and he looks at me, not even kissing her back. What a jerk.

"Looks like you're having a lot of fun, Dave. Well, I better get going. Charlotte's meeting me somewhere other than this," I see Violet look confused at me.

"Oh! Okay. Have fun then!" I smile at Violet and roll my eyes at Dave.

I go out the front door and take a breath of air without Dave in it. I walking down the street to clear my mind. As I look around, I see I've already walked to the next block. I hear my phone beep, and I see a text from Violet.

"Dave took the kids to school for me. Where did you go 'cause Charlotte is still here," I roll my eyes. Finally, he's gone.

"Come pick me up, and we can go to the store. I'm just around the block," I send the text to Violet, and she picks me up and Charlotte.

We do our usual things as every day, and today goes as every other day. I wake up, and it's already Monday. Great. The worst day of the year.

"Wake up, EE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Tia and Kayla scream in my ears as I pry my eyes open.

"Birthday? Who's birthday is it?"

"Yours!" I hear Tia and Kayla both scream.

"Mine? No! Couldn't be! I never have birthdays," I hear the girls laugh.

"Aunt EE, are you going to come eat? Me and KK made a special breakfast for you," I gasp.

"For me? Does it have strawberries in it? Because you know I LOVE strawberries?" I hear Tia laugh.

"Yes! It has-" I see Kayla cover her mouth.

"Tia, don't ruin it!" I laugh as I get up from bed.

"I'll eat after I do my morning run," I hear Kayla scuff.

"Can't you skip it, or do it after breakfast?" I laugh.

"I can't skip it, but I tell you what. Do you want to join me with some yoga after we eat?" I see their eyes light up.

"Yes! Now, let's go eat!" I laugh as Kayla and Tia pull me to the kitchen.
