"Do you think he'll like us staying a night at his house with you?" I hear Charlotte gasp as I look at my phone.

"You mean as a sleepover?! A girl's night sleepover?!"

"Eve, are you listening?" I look at Violet.

"Huh?" I see Violet roll her eyes.

"A sleepover? At your new house?"

"Oh, that's fine," I look at my phone again. Violet clears her throat, and I look at her.

"Why are you looking at your phone? You've been looking at it since you were with us. What's wrong?" I sigh and set my phone down.

"I've been waiting for a text to see if he made it to the airport. He said he would text me," Violet sighs.

"You're worried about him aren't you?" I nod.

"Darling, don't worry too much about him. He probably hasn't reached the airport yet. It takes two hours and thirty minutes to reach it, so he's probably still on the way there," I sigh.

"You're right. He'll text soon when he gets there."

"All done!" I hear the nail stylist say. I look at my red acrylic nails.

"Perfect! Thank you so much!" I stand up and pull out my card.

"Oh no, you don't! I'm paying for it," Violet buts me out of the way.

"What do you mean you're paying for it? I'm paying for it!" I hand the lady my card, and she swipes it.

"You're lucky I'm pregnant, or I'll fight you," I laugh at Violet, and she laughs, too. I see Donny with a worried look.

"What's wrong, Donny?"

"I thought you guys were going to fight," I laugh.

"Don't worry, Donny. Me and my sister don't physically fight. My brother on the other hand is a different story," Violet and I laugh as we walk out of the salon and into the limousine.

"Are we getting food now?" Charlotte says as she gets in after us. I smile at her.

"Were two pregnant ladies. What do you think?"

"Mrs. Donita, I'm home," The word home sends goosebumps up my spine as we walk into my new house.

"Damn, this place is fancy," I chuckle at Charlotte.

"That's what I thought when I first walked in here, but it could use a woman's touch," Charlotte and I laugh as I see Mrs. Dontia coming into the room, holding her arms out for a hug.

"Evangeline! How are you, darling?" I smile and hug Mrs. D.

"I'm wonderful, Mrs. Dontia. Oh, before I forget! Mrs. Dontia, this is my sister, Violet, and my best friend, Charlotte. They're my guests and they'll be staying the day and night with me since it is my first night alone in this house without Mr. Winters. We're also going to watch a movie in the living room to kinda have a girl's night, " Mrs. Dontia smiles and hugs them. She kisses them on the cheek.

"Any family and guest of yours is always welcome here. You guys must be starving! I'll fix you guys a snack platter," I chuckle.

"You don't have to do that Mrs. D. We got food already. We even got food for Donny, but if you like, you can join us for the movie," Mrs. Donita smiles big.

"Of course, you're going to need more food! Y'all are going to be hungry when watching your movie. I'll go make some food," I chuckle as Mrs. Donita hurries to the kitchen.

"Follow me to the living room," I lead Charlotte and Violet upstairs and down the hall. I look left and right, hoping to find it.

"On the left," Donny says while clearing his throat as we walk past a door on the left side. I smile at him as I let Charlotte and Violet into the room.

"Thank you," I mouth to Donny as I walk into the large living room after Charlotte and Violet.

"Holy cow!" I hear Charlotte say as books cover the wall and a large television sits on the wall.

"It looks like this is your first time seeing this room, too," I laugh at Violet as I close my mouth.

I watch Charlotte plop down on the large soft couch. I look at the shelves, searching for a movie.

"I don't see any movies here," I hear Charlotte laugh.

"Do you think he has movies?" I roll my eyes.

"Of course, he does," I continue to look at the shelf. He should have movies, shouldn't he?

"Found one!" I hear Violet say across the living room.

"Great, put it in," I turn around, and see Violet looking at the movie.

"It's in Russian! Who the hell speaks Russian?!" I laugh at Violet, and I hear Donny laughing, too.

"Mr. Winters speaks Russian. I bet Donny speaks Russian, too," I look at Donny.

"Me? Oh, yes! I speak Russian," Donny says as he looks at Violet. If I were to say, I'd say he was nervous.

"Well, we could always rent a movie on the television," I watch Violet put the movie down and sit on the couch.

I grab the television remote and sit on the couch in between Violet and Charlotte.

Night falls after watching romance movies and eating Mrs. Dontia's cooking all day. My eyes open. I look around seeing myself snuggled up against Charlotte and Violet. I must have fallen asleep while watching that last movie. I get up and turn the television off.

I go to to use the restroom and walk back into the quiet living room, seeing everyone Violet and Charlotte are still sound asleep, and Donny, sleeping on a chair next to us. I smile, knowing my new home brings them warmth and comfort.

I walk to a bedroom, grab the covers off the bed, and walk back into the living room. I cover each of them up, trying to be quiet. I grab my phone and see no text message. Mr. Winters hasn't texted yet? He should have been on the plane and landed already. I sigh quietly and look out the window. It's a beautiful night out.

I put on my leather jacket over my shoulders, walk out of the room, down the quiet halls, and walk downstairs. I walk into the kitchen and quietly open the door to the backyard. I close it and walk to the little rose garden. I sit on the ground next to the flowers, feeling the earth below my feet. I take a deep breath as I stare at the moon and stars. I jump hearing a twig snap behind me.

"Sorry, ma'am, I didn't mean to scare you," I smile, seeing Donny behind me.

"It's okay. Nowadays, I'm easily scared."

"What are you doing out here late at night? It's 3 am," I stare at the flowers.

"I just came out here for fresh air. It's a beautiful night," I hear Donny sigh.

"I see the way you worry and the sparkle in your eye when you talk about Mr. Winters. You love him, don't you?" I look at Donny confused.

"Of course, I love him. He's the reason I smile in the morning. The reason I sing in the shower. He's the reason why I dream good dreams. He's my soulmate. My one and only love," I laugh.

"It may seem to you that he's heartless and a ruthless creature, but to me. He's as sweet as apple pie," I hear Donny laugh.

"In all my years of working for Mr. Winters, I've never heard anyone describe him as sweet as apple pie. Then again, of all the women he's been with, he's never brought them to his house, or to live with him. He's also never stayed with the same woman for over two weeks. The woman he has been with never cared about him and just wanted to use him for his money, so he just used them for fun. Has he ever said he loved you?" I look at the roses, trying to keep the tears in my eyes.

"No... but he has called me love," Donny chuckles.

"Maybe love has its ways of changing people. Come on, miss. Let's get you inside before you catch a cold," I wipe the tears fallen from my eyes.

"You're right. It's a bit nippy out here," I try to stand up, but can't.

"Do you need help up?" I chuckle.

"Kinda," Donny grabs my arms and helps me stand up.

"Thanks. You've been the best, Donny. I wouldn't mind if you date my sister either," I see Donny blush and look away. I smile.

"Don't worry. I know you like her. Start slow and give her your number, or give her flowers. Get to know her, don't rush it," Donny chuckles.

"Let's get you inside, miss," I smile and walk inside the mansion.

"I'm not tired yet, Donny, so I think I'll wander the halls," I walk upstairs and along the halls.

I walk the halls, looking at the closed doors, left and right. I walk to a door I vividly remember being Mr. Winters's office from our argument. Could it still be his office from the remodeling? I open the door and see a desk with a computer. It looks like the office.

"Could you give me some privacy?" Donny nods and stands outside the door as I walk into the room and close it.

A warm feeling warms me all over as I smell Mr. Winters in the room. I look around as I walk, seeing the newly installed black leather couch, books covering the walls, and his dark oak wooden desk. Shiny.

I sit in his large dark oak wooden chair, staring at his desk of paperwork and magazines. I pick up a magazine, and see Mr. Winters on the front cover, sitting in an oak wooden chair with a red cushion seat as if he took the picture for a photo shoot.

"MR. WINTERS! Is he the sexiest man alive? According to research magazine, ninety percent of women in the country say they would date him," I laugh reading the headline. I feel a buzz in my pocket. I smile, seeing a text from Mr. Winters.

"Just made it to my hotel. Sorry I didn't text earlier, Mrs. Waltons said she needed my full attention to discuss the plans for the meeting, tomorrow," I bite my lip, thinking about what to reply.

"It's okay. How was your flight?" I send the message and put my phone on his desk while I look at the magazine.

My phone buzzes on the desk, and I see a FaceTime call coming from Mr. Winters. Oh shit. I set my phone on the computer, facing me, and accept the call.

"Hello, Mr. Winters," I smile big at him as I lean back, relaxing in his chair, seeing him in a fancy hotel room.

"Hello, Evangeline. Are you in my office?" I smile.

"Maybe. It smells like you," I hear Mr. Winters chuckle as he sets his phone down on a desk, aiming it at him as he walks towards his fancy bed.

"The whole house smells like me," I freeze as I watch him take his shirt off and slowly take off his belt, nearly drooling. I shake my head, snapping out of the zone.

"This room smells the most like you. I just got on a call with you, and I'm already getting a show?" I bite my fingernail as I look him up and down. Mr. Winters laughs.

"Show? I should be the one to ask you about your show," My eyes widen, forgetting about the pictures I took on his phone.

"You saw the pictures, didn't you?" Mr. Winters walks towards the camera, looks at me, and chuckles.

"I did more than just look at them," I cover my face, embarrassed.

"Don't look at them! Those pictures are cringy!" I remove my hands.

"Speaking of pictures!" I grab the magazine and show the camera.

"Look what I found on your desk! Mr. Winters! The county's number one sexiest man ALIVE!" Mr. Winters laughs.

"If you're talking about cringy, that whole photo shoot was cringy, but I have to say they have the title right," I laugh.

"What? That you're the country's sexiest man alive?" Mr. Winters chuckles.

"Do you not agree?" I lean towards the phone and look dead into the camera.

"I don't know. Maybe you're going to have to show me what they mean by the country's sexiest man alive," Mr. Winters laughs.

"You have no idea what kind of things I'd do to you if you were here right now," I clear my throat and sit back in the chair, trying not to show how much I was blushing. Damn, even through FaceTime, Mr. Winters still has his effect on me.
