"I- uh I mean, the article has a good shot of you, but I think you'd look better if you smiled," I say trying to turn the topic. Mr. Winters laughs. He takes off his mask and fakes a smile.

"Like this?" I smile, seeing his glorious face.

"Much better. Even if you're trying to not smile, I think your smile is gorgeous," Mr. Winters smiles his fantastic smile.

"There's a lot more magazines on your desk," I pick up a blue magazine, and Mr. Winters's face turns serious as I read it.

"New mistress seen with Mr. Winters," I pick up another green magazine and read it.

"Who is this mystery woman Mr. Winters keeps bringing into the open," I grab another magazine.

"Mr. Winters was caught with a mysterious woman more than three times this week. Some say this is Mr. Winters's longest relationship," I put down the magazines.

"The rest of these magazines are about me. Why do you have them?" I hear Mr. Winters sigh.

"They're just magazines, Evangeline. I only keep them to make sure they don't say anything bad about you," I look him in the eyes through the camera. He's lying. I can feel it. I sigh.

"Okay, I trust you," I set the magazines on his desk.

"How's your day so far, love?" Mr. Winters chuckles.

"We're on the short talk already?" I chuckle.

"Well, what else am I supposed to say? Oh, wait! I had an idea to decorate our new home. I wanted to ask you first in case you would get mad," Mr. Winters chuckles.

"Do whatever you want with our house. Whatever mine is yours," I grin.

"Oh? Really now? So, you wouldn't mind if I painted your office pink? Maybe with rows of flowers on the floor and a nice bouquet of flowers around every corner of the house," Mr. Winters laughs.

"Like I said, whatever you want to do. I don't care if you paint the whole house pink. What is mine is yours, love," I smile.

"I'm just kidding! I hate the color pink. Red is more my style, but I am thinking about putting more movies in the living rooms," Mr. Winters laughs.

"What's wrong with the movies I have?" I laugh.

"They're all in Russian or another language! Violet really freaked out when she pulled a Russian action movie out of your movies. Oh, by the way, Violet, Charlotte, and I had a girl's day yesterday, and I let them spend the night since it is my first night alone in this house without you. I hope you don't mind," Mr. Winters chuckles.

"I already know," I look at him shocked.

"How do you already know?" Mr. Winters laughs.

"Donny told me everything you did today. I must say he was quite surprised when you bought him food," I laugh.

"Damn, Donny ratting on me already, and I had to pay him back somehow for-" I look away from the phone.

"For what? What happened, Evangeline?!" I sigh.

"Well, earlier today, I was having breakfast, Mrs. Dontia cooked for me, and long story short, one of your men almost hit me, but Donny stopped him," Mr. Winters's eyebrows furrow with an angry expression on his face as his eyes darken.

"Who almost hit you?!" His deep voice rattles the office.

"I- I can't remember his name. I think his name starts with an R," I scratch my arm, and I see Mr. Winters's face calm as he senses I'm scared.

"I'll deal with it when I get back from my trip," I smile.

"I'll tell you what, I think we are matchmakers because Donny and Violet have a thing for each other!" Mr. Winters laughs.

"Matchmakers?" I nod.

"Mhm! You with Donny and I with Violet. As soon as they saw each other, they couldn't stop looking at each other," I hear Mr. Winters's laugh. I smile, admiring his dashing laugh and face.

"I miss you. This week is going to take forever," Mr. Winters chuckles.

"Don't worry, love. I'll be back before you know it, and once I'm back, I'll show you why every reporter says I'm the country's sexiest man," I laugh.

"I can't wait to see it. Get some sleep, you didn't sleep the night before, and you probably didn't get some sleep on the plane either," I see Mr. Winters make his famous smile.

"I promise I will," I smile.

"I love you," Mr. Winters looks stunned to hear me say it.

"As do I, love. Goodnight," Mr. Winters hangs up the call, and I set my phone on his desk. I smile, recalling his smile.

I get up from the desk, walking past two file cabinets, and walk to the door. I open the door and see Charlotte and Violet startled when they see me. I know they were listening in.

"What are you two doing up?" Violet looks at Charlotte.

"How could we sleep when we were scared as hell, hearing Mr. Winters screaming down the hall?" I laugh.

"Don't worry, he was mad at something," Violet looks at me concerned.

"Did we do something wrong? Because we can go if Mr. Winters is yelling at you because of us," I laugh.

"You didn't do anything wrong. None of you two did anything wrong. Mr. Winters was mad because of an incident that happened yesterday morning before I went to your house," Violet gasps.

"Incident?! What do you mean by that?!" I sigh.

"I really don't want to talk about it," I fake yawn.

"I'm really tired, we should go to sleep," I walk past them to the bedroom, trying to avoid the conversation.

I lay in the bed Mr. Winters and I shared once before he left. Something's not right. Mr. Winters's hiding something, but what? There's only one place to search for answers. His office. I hear a knock on the door.

"A penny for your thoughts?" I turn and see Charlotte in the doorway. She walks towards me and hops in bed next to me.

"Damn, this bed smells like Mr. Winters," I laugh.

"I know. I love it. That's why I love laying in here," I hear Charlotte chuckle.

"I don't blame you. If I had a man like Mr. Winters, I'd lay in his bed all day," I smile, knowing she's saying Mr. Winters is all mine.

"Where's Violet?" Charlotte laughs.

"She's talking to Donny. I think they're flirting, and Donny gave her his number," I smile.

"So, he's taking my advice. Good for him. Did Violet tell him that she has two other kids and a terrible baby daddy," I hear Charlotte laugh.

"Nope," I laugh, and Charlotte clears her throat.

"Speaking of Mr. Winters, that was a pretty rough phone call you just had," I sigh.

"You heard it?" Charlotte chuckles.

"I think the whole neighborhood heard Mr. Winters scream," I shove my face into the pillow.

"Listen, Evangeline, don't be surprised if Mr. Winters doesn't say I love you back. A man like Mr. Winters doesn't love people," I look up at Charlotte.

"How the hell does everyone fucking know about Mr. Winters and his popularity, but me?! Everyone keeps warning me about him and to stay away from him, but no one fucking tells me why! It makes me angry that no one's willing to tell me what makes Mr. Winters so bad?!" I turn towards the wall, looking out the ghastly window.

"I finally found a man that makes me feel safe, calm, and sooo happy. Now, my best friend is telling me that he's incapable of love!?" Tears start to inflate over my eyes.

"Eva, I didn't mean to tell you that he was bad for you," I sit up and turn towards Charlotte, infuriated.

"Then what, Charlotte?! What are you trying to tell me then? Because, apparently, everyone knows the secret that I've been searching for, but no one's willing to tell me," Charlotte sits up and looks me in the eyes.

"I only know as much about Mr. Winters as you do. I'm just trying to say, be careful where you place your heart at. From what I heard from people, Mr. Winters is a man of many statues, and love isn't one of them," I roll my eyes.

"That's the point! Everyone judges him before they can get to know his true side. People will talk shit. Hell, people from my past wouldn't say I'm the kindest person," Charlotte sighs.

"I know you love him, but don't let love blind you. As your best friend, I don't want to see you get hurt," I roll my eyes.

"Mr. Winters would never hurt me. I trust him," Charlotte smiles.

"You're good for his heart. You would have told me the same as I'm telling you if I was in the same predicament," I chuckle.

"That's because the men you always pick only want you for sex," Charlotte laughs.

"So? At least I have a good time with them," I roll my eyes and lay back down.

"I'm going to bed. I think Violet's going to sleep next to Donny," Charlotte lays next to me.

"Just like old times, huh? Where we used to sleep next to each other," I roll my eyes.

"You know, I'm glad I moved out. At least I got quiet when I slept," I say playfully, and Charlotte laughs.

The bright sun shines in my eyes, and they peak open, seeing the window. I look around and see Charlotte gone. I get up from bed and look at the alarm clock. It's already seven thirty in the morning. I must have slept in.

I get up from bed with my legs aching. It's going to be one of those days, huh legs? I drag myself to the bathroom and close the door. I take Mr. Winters's shirt off. I look in the mirror at my pregnant body. Damn, everything's changing every day.

"Damn, I'm jealous that you're not showing that much," I cover my top body and turn to see Violet standing by the door frame.

"What the hell are you doing in here?! Can't you see I'm getting undressed," Violet laughs.

"You've seen my vagina giving birth to Kayla. I don't think we can get more personal than that," I roll my eyes. Violet walks in and closes the door. She raises her shirt in the mirror with me.

"Look at this shit. I'm the same amount as pregnant as you are, and it looks like I have a damn watermelon under my skin while it looks like you only have a pear under yours," I laugh.

"I'm almost six months. Maybe I haven't bloomed yet," Violet rolls her eyes.

"Bullshit! You're supposed to be showing more at this time. Maybe you're having one of those pregnancies that doesn't show that much," I roll my eyes.

"Are you going to be in here all day because I want to shower in peace," Violet laughs.

"Fine, I'll let you be. I'll see you at the breakfast table. Mrs. Dontia made some good food, so you better hurry up before Charlotte eats it all," I chuckle as Violet walks out of the bathroom. I lock the door.

I look around the shower for a knob. Of course, there's no knobs. I see a touchscreen pad next to the door. I touch a button and see the waterfall from a metal square above. I strip and step into the warm water. The water burns good against my skin as I close my eyes, soaking it in.

The smells of Mr. Winters roam the air as I use his shampoo and body wash, and wash all the soap off. I step out of the water, grab the towel off the hook, and wrap myself in it. I press the button, turning the water off as I walk out of the bathroom and into the bedroom. I grab clothes from Mr. Winters's closet that smell the most like him and lay them on the bed.

I make sure the door is closed and locked before drying and changing into the clothes. I tie my wet hair into a messy bun and walk downstairs.

The smell of maple syrup hits my nose as I enter the kitchen. I see Charlotte and Violet eating breakfast at the table. I gasp as I look across from them, seeing Hunter Winters.
