I look at him, perplexed.

"What do you mean won't be my bodyguard anymore?" Donny clears his throat.

"Well, when Mr. Winters comes back, he will take me off the case, and I'll be going back to doing my other work," I look at him with sad eyes.

"So, you're telling me you won't be by my side anymore?" Donny nods. I sigh.

"Don't worry, Donny. I have a feeling Mr. Winters is going to need a bodyguard for me in the future, and I'll certainly request you," Donny smiles.

"Thank you, miss," I chuckle.

"Anything else, Donny?" Donny rubs the back of his neck with his hand.

"Well, I was wondering if you were going to make something else?" I smile.

"Like what? Brownies?" Donny smiles.

"Please?" I laugh.

"How many men are coming to the party?" Donny looks at me with a serious face.

"You better make several batches. Enough to feed about five hundred men," My eyes widen.

"Five hundred-" I swallow and smile.

"Of course! Anything for the men. I better get started!" I turn around and hear Donny laugh. Damn, it, Evangeline. You should have kept your mouth shut!

I hear the basement door shut, letting me know Donny's gone. I sigh as I grab several mixing bowls and ingredients. I have a feeling this is going to be a long time baking.

I pull the last tray out of the oven. Smells of sweet chocolate and caramel fill the air as I open the oven again. There! That's the last tray! I pour the pan full of flavorful peppers and seasoned chicken onto a plate. I set it on the counter with the rest of the food and brownies. I jump up and down, looking at the counter full of brownies and food, feeling proud of myself for baking and cooking supper for the men.

"Damn, hun, I didn't know you could cook and bake," I roll my eyes, seeing Hunter Winters leading on the back door's frame.

"What do you want?" Hunter chuckles.

"Is that any way to talk to your boss?" I roll my eyes.

"You're only my boss at work, otherwise, you're nothing to me," Hunter laughs.

"You're funny. I love a woman with a sense of humor," I roll my eyes.

"Is there a reason you're here, or are you going to just stand there and watch me all day?" Hunter grins.

"I could watch you anytime, anywhere, but since I'm here I might as well as tell you that all the tables outside are set and ready for the party. Here, I can help you move the food to the table," He walks towards me and reaches out for the food. I slap his hand.

"The only one who touches MY food is me until the party starts," Hunter licks his lips while looking me in the eyes.

"Damn, I love a dominate woman," I roll my eyes.

"The party can start anytime we want, hun. Or, we can go to my place where I can eat your dessert and skip the party," He says in my ear. I push him away.

"Out of my kitchen, NOW!" He laughs as I push him out the back door and slam it shut. Damn, I'm tired of that man.

I straighten my dress and hair. I open the back door and grab a dessert.

"Need help, miss?" I turn around and smile at Donny.

"Why thank you, Donny," I watch as he grabs two desserts, and I lead him into the backyard.

Fancy white lights, light up the backyard as I look around for the perfect table to place my food.

"There!" I point at a long white-clothed table in the back.

I walk towards the table as Donny follows me. Men start to look at me, sniffing the air as I pass them. I set the dessert at the end of the table.

"Put the food dishes in the center of the table and surround it with the desserts," Donny nods as he puts the desserts next to each other.

"This should be the last one," I smile as I watch Donny put down the last dessert and adjust it.

"There. Perfect! Every dessert is organized and made with love," Donny laughs.

"Can we eat now?" I chuckle and nudge his arm.

"Not until Mr. Winters gets here."

"My, my. All this food looks absolutely delicious. I can't wait to stick my fork into it," I turn around and see Violet and Charlotte.

"What are you two doing here?" Charlotte laughs.

"Well, it's a party, duh. Of course, we had to be here," Violet nudges Charlotte.

"We're here because Donny invited me, and Hunter invited her," I laugh and hug them both.

"Did you make this all from scratch?" Violet gasps.

"Is that Dad's secret brownie reciepe?!" I smile.

"Of course! How else are the brownies going to be so delectable? You two enjoy the party. I have a lot of work to do," I hug Violet and walk inside. I close Mr. Winters's office door and sigh.

I honestly couldn't deal with Charlotte and Hunter right now. Especially, since Hunter keeps trying to get in my pants. I grab books from I look at him perplexed.

Fancy white lights, light up the backyard as I look around for the perfect table to place my food.

"There!" I point at a large white-clothed table in the back.

I walk towards the table as Donny follows me. Men start to look at me, sniffing the air as I pass them. I set the dessert at the end of the table.

I honestly couldn't deal with Charlotte and Hunter right now. Especially, since Hunter keeps trying to get in my pants. I grab any lawyer books I can find from the wall and set them on Mr. Winters's desk next to my notebook. I sit in the desk's chair. Finally, I can get off my feet.

I open my notebook full of writing on the case and start writing things down.

I hear the office door open. I smell Mr. Winters's cologne, and my heart skips a beat as it jumps for joy. No, Evangeline, you're mad at him, remember?

"The party's in the backyard if you want to go see it," I continue writing, not looking up. Mr. Winters's deep chuckle sends shivers snaking down my spine. God, I've missed it.

I clear my throat, trying to not let it affect me. I close my books and notebook and pick them up.

"I'll study in the kitchen if you need this room," My knees start to go weak as I walk by Mr. Winters, smelling a whiff of his cologne and aftershave that aches my heart. He grabs my arm, stopping me.

"Evangeline. I want some alone time with my girlfriend," Refusing to turn around, I swallow the lump, starting to form in my throat. I lick my lip and bite the bottom one, trying to hold my composure.

"When were you going to tell me?"

"Tell me what?" Mr. Winters says, sounding confused.

I open my notebook and pull out a printed page. I turn around and slap it on his chest.

"When were you going to tell me?!" Mr. Winters looks at the page I printed of the twenty-seven women he's been with this year.
