"Everyone's staring at us," I say as eyes stare us down. I look around, seeing the only eyes on me that I want to be sipping champagne and looking at Hunter, as I suspect chatting with him while August leads me to the dance floor.

"That's because I know everyone here. They're probably surprised you know me because my reputation is pretty high," August says as he stops in the corner of the dance floor near the drinks. I roll my eyes and sigh.

"Maybe you're right, August," I say quietly.

"Right about what?" August says as he takes my hand and hovers his other hand on my back.

"Right about, you know... him," I say, embarrassed.

"Nah. Don't tell me you're getting blue balls already," I look away and sigh.

"Sometimes I doubt it, but when I look into his eyes, I feel like it all disappears."

"That's because you're in love," August says, chuckling. I swallow, still looking away with a doubtful face.

August sighs, "I'm not right all the time. When I was gone, I kept repeating to myself, you'd be better off without me. That you'd be okay, but I was wrong," I lay my head on his chest.

"I hope we were both wrong," I say, trying to keep a tear from leaving my eye.

"Hey, don't cry. It's your day," August lifts my face with his index finger, "Dad always wanted you to have the fairest wedding, so I'm going to make everything possible for it to be the most adequate wedding to be," I smile at him as I pull the tissue he gave me out of my dress's bra cup.

"Thanks, August," I say as I wipe the spilled makeup off.

"You smell different," I look at August, confused.

"What do you mean?" I question.

"You used to smell like sweet flowers and elegant champagne. Now... you smell like Mr. Winters," August says, taking a deep breath of my aroma.

"You smell different, too. Is that a bad thing to smell like Mr. Winters?" I say, trying to grab his hand with the tissue in my hand.

"Ew, that tissue touched your boobs. Get that thing away from me," August said, sounding disgusted. I laugh.

"Where the hell did you learn to dance? You've stepped on my toe seven times already," I roll my eyes. There he goes again, back to himself.

"I've never learned to dance, duh," August laughs.

"Then you better fucking learn quick because someone else is coming this way to dance with you," August says, chuckling. I roll my eyes and feel a tap on my shoulder.

"May I have this dance?" I hear a familiar female voice say.

"Why certainly," August says, reaching out for her hand.

"Not you. Her," August's eyes widen, and I turn my head, seeing Stephanie. I put on a fake smile. Great. Last I recall being with her, she was trying to fuck me in the limousine.

"Damn, Evangeline, you're always stealing my opportunities," August says as he walks away from me.

"Hey, August," I say, and August turns around, "Catch!" I throw the used, teary napkin at him, watching it fly into the air as he holds out his hands and moves it quickly before it almost touches his hand and lands on the ground.

"Oh, for fuck's sake, Evangeline! That shit almost touched me!" He says, angrily. I laugh.

"You'll be fine. Just walk it off," August rolls his eyes. I laugh as I watch him walk towards Violet.

My eyes widen as Stephanie takes my hand, twining our fingers together as she puts her other hand on my back, shoving me as close to her as possible. Scared to touch her, I hover my hand behind her back as my other hand, shakes while holding her hand.

"Easy, sweetcakes, I'm not going to hurt you," She says as she leads me in dancing, following the other dancer's pattern.

"Last time I saw you, you were flirting with me, trying to get me into the back of your limousine, so how can I relax?" I say, looking into her radiant eyes. Stephanie laughs.

"I had to get Mr. Winters's attention somehow, and you were the only option, my dear. Plus, you call that flirting? If I was really flirting, I would've had you already in the back of my limousine. If I wanted to," I roll my eyes.

"Sure, like I'd fall for it," Stephanie grins and licks her cherry red lipstick.

"Oh, I know you would have, darling. The way your heart was pounding as you stared at me, you would be easy to seduce," I look at her confused.

"I beg your pardon?" Stephanie chuckles.

"I don't stutter, dear, but I've got to say, I never thought Mr. Winters would pop the question, but who knows what goes on in that man's mind," She spins me around and dips me, causing my eyes to widen from the unholy amount of pressure on my back.

"I just hope he doesn't waste you," She whispers near my ear. I clear my throat and pick myself up, causing a sharp pain to go through my back as I lean up.

"I... I think I'm good at dancing for tonight," I say, trying not to show how much pain I'm in, "I'm going to go inside. Thank you for coming," I say as wetness drips down my leg while I slowly walk my way to the back door. With each step I take, causing more pain.

I walk to the house, leaning on the dining room table as I take off my shoes, taking deep breaths. I slowly walk out of the kitchen, and slowly walk up the steps, with sharp pains going up my back as I take each step. I walk to my bedroom, shutting the door behind me as I enter, and sit on the bed. The pain. The pain. THE PAIN IS REAL. I repeat to myself as I hold my back and my stomach.

Fuck it, I can't do it anymore. I say as I take the dead vibrator out of me, feeling something wet. My hand shakes as I reach my hand out from under my dress, seeing blood. Oh, god, no. No. No. No. NO!

I pick myself up, almost crawling to my dresser as my eyes fill with tears. I search my trembling hand on my dresser, grabbing my phone. I unlock it and text "Help" to Cole as my hand trembles, making it the only thing I can think of and type out. I set my phone down next to me, and lean against the bed while holding my stomach as my heart rattles back and forth.

Breathe, baby, breathe. I say to myself to keep myself calm. Daddy's coming. Breathe, honey, breathe. We can make it. Another sharp pain comes and goes through my body and vagina.

"OH GOD!" I yell as I tilt my head back while holding my stomach, feeling the pressure on my vagina. I hear the door slam open.

"What happened!?" Mr. Winters says, enraged.

"HE'S COMING. HE'S NOT READY TO COME, BUT HE'S FUCKING COMING," I yell as I scream out in pain while another sharp pain strikes through my lower body. More liquid flows down my leg, spilling onto the floor.

Mr. Winters hurries over to me, sliding his arm under my legs, getting blood on him, and his other arm on my back, lifting me. He turns quickly and walks fast, almost running with me in his arms, down the hall, down the stairs, and out the front door while I take deep breaths, trying not to scream out of pain.

He sets me in the passenger seat of his car and runs to the other side. As soon as he gets in, he shifts it into gear and pushes on the gas hard, speeding down the street. I lay my head against the window as my vision start to blur. I scream in pain and clench my body, still holding my stomach as another strike of pain hits my lower body. The car jolts faster as my breathing slows, and my vision gets blurrier.

After a sudden stop at the car, my door opens, and I get lifted out.

"I NEED A FUCKING DR. NOW!" I hear Mr. Winters scream before my vision turns black, and losing control of my body, leaving me only on the blank black screen of my conscience.

I take a loud deep breath in and rise from the bed.

"Jesus fucking Christ, you rise like a damn vampire," I hear August say next to me as I feel the bump on my stomach.

"My baby! How's my baby?!" I say, holding my bump.

"The baby's fine. We had a scare, and he almost came early, but the nurses got the contractions back down," I look at August with wide eyes.

"CONTRACTIONS?!" I say as I hear my heart monitor beep faster.

"Relax. Stressing out isn't good for Little Johnny," I take a deep breath, trying to calm myself, "Now, better?" I nod my head at August.

"You were dilated to a seven, but that's the farthest you've got before the nurses gave you some shot to lower your dilation. You also were losing oxygen and... well," He turns his head, looking at Violet with her face in her hands, crying, as Donny holds her and Charlotte stands next to her, worried.

"Violet thought you were going to die," Charlotte says in a low tone.

"SHE WAS!" Violet says, lifting her head from her hands, seeing her smeared makeup and tears. August rolls his eyes.

"Damn, you two are too emotional. She didn't even lose a pulse, and you're acting like she's on death row," I laugh.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to die. I'm a survivor. If I die, who's going to attend August's wedding?" August rolls his eyes and smiles.

"Ha Ha, very funny. Whoever said I'm getting married better fucking pay up now because that's never going to happen," I laugh and look around the room. My smile fades, not seeing the second person on my mind.

"Where's Winters?" August looks away and rubs his neck.

"He's... not here," I look at August, confused.

"What do you mean, he's not here? Where is he?!" August sighs.

"Evangeline, we haven't seen Mr. Winters since the party. I got a call from the hospital, saying you were in here alone," Violet says, in a sad voice while sniffing her nose. My heart skips a beat.

"He... left me alone?" I say, looking at my stomach.

"I'm sorry, Evangeline. No one's heard from him since," Tears start to form in my eyes.

"Why isn't he here?" I say quietly as a tear falls from my cheek.

"I don't know, Eve. I really wish I could tell you," August says with a disappointing voice. I lick my dry lips and look at August.

"Where's my phone?" August turns, opens a brown cabinet, and hands me my cracked phone.

I unlock my phone, but no messages from Mr. Winters. I swallow the lump of film in my throat as I type, "Where are you?" to Mr. Winters. I stare at my phone, waiting for a reply. "I need you," I text again. I rub the tears from my eyes as I still get no reply.

"Evangeline... he's not coming," August says in a low voice.

"He has to come. He's the one who brought me to the hospital, so it would make sense he would come, right?!" I say, angrily to August. August looks away, saying nothing.

"Why isn't he here?" I say in a low, broken voice.

"Why isn't he here, August?! WHY ISN'T HE HERE?!!" I say, hitting August.

"I DON'T KNOW, EVANGELINE!" He says, infuriated, "I don't know..." His voice sounding low.

"I need him, August. So, where the fuck is he?!" I say, irritated.

"Evangeline! August doesn't have the fucking answer," Violet says, angrily, "Neither do we," She says in a low voice.

"Yes, he fucking does!" I hit August in the chest hard out of outrage while August looks at me with sorrowful eyes, not moving as I hit him.

I hit August again, not moving my fist off his chest, clenching it tightly as my lip starts to quiver. I collapse into his arms, sobbing a hard-ugly cry, as he wraps his cold arms around me, holding me tightly.
