My hand reached to knock on the door, but before it made contact the door flew wide open.

Before me stood Ms.Langston, her sterling grey eyes sweeping over my appearance in shock before her expression formed into one of joy.

"Jesse, it's so good to see you! It's been too long," Elena said with a large grin on her face before she pulled me into a hug.

"It's nice to see you too Ms.Langston," I said smiling back at her as we entered the house.

"I've told you thousands of times to call me Elena, you're practically the daughter I never had. I can't believe Myles didn't tell me you were coming, he knows how much I've missed your presence around he-" She was speaking a thousand miles per minute, an excited grin on her face.

"Okay, mom I think that's enough," Myles said making his appearance known.

Elena rolled her eyes at her son, annoyed by the interruption.

"How dare you not tell me Jesse was coming over," Elena huffed out glaring at her son, who shrunk back in fear.

"It was last minute, and besides don't you have to meet with William," Myles explained sending glances of help my way, while I tried to stifle a laugh.

It was pretty last minute.

I was just finishing dance practice and Myles invited me over to hang out and seeing as I had nothing else to do for today, I agreed.

"Mhm, if you say so," Elena replied before turning back to me.

"Like Myles said I have to go, but there is shrimp alfredo on the stove for you to eat for dinner. Oh, but do come by again when I'm less busy so we can hang out. I'm sure Myles will be sure to inform me," Elena said before giving the both of us a quick hug.

"Hi," I said once the front door shut from behind us, a grin on my face.

My grin widened as Myles smiled back at me before pulling me into a hug.

"What's this for?" I asked hiding my grin in his chest.

"I missed you," He whispered into my hair, a chill running down my spine.

The past week has been hectic, with us both being busy with school, and me with dance practice and him with training.

We haven't been able to spend much time with one another in person. Our source of communication being during lunch, texts throughout the day, and late-night phone calls.

Though none of that compares to spending time with him in person.

"I missed you too," I said as we pulled away from one another.

A smile lit up his face at my words.

Slipping his hands into mine he pulled me into the living room where Kyle was sitting on the couch his attention directed towards the tv that displayed The Princess and The Frog.

I love this movie

"JESS!" Kyle screamed in glee, finally taking note of our presence.

Pausing the movie, Kyle jumped out of his seat arms open to give me a hug.

"Hey, bud," I said happily lifting him up into my arms.

"What are you doing here?" He asked confused though his smile remained.

"Well, your brother invited me over to hang out. Is that okay with you?" I asked

"YES!" He said nodding his head eagerly before jumping down from my arms and pulling me over to the couch.

Once I sat down on the couch, Kyle unpaused the movie before sitting to the left of me.

"This is my favorite movie," He said excitedly making my smile widen.

"Me too," I replied just as excited to watch the movie.

Looking behind us I saw Myles looking at the both of us with amusement.

Beckoning him over with my hand, Myles made his way over to the seat on the right of me.

Throughout the movie, I tried to ignore how Myles's knee would brush against mine or how he would look at me to watch my reactions.

While I was having a nervous breakdown wondering if he could hear the pounding of my heartbeat, which sounded like it would burst out of my chest, Kyle happily watched the movie. His eyes glued to the screen, never wavering for a second.

I let out a sigh of relief when the movie ended and Kyle made it known that he was hungry.

I immediately jumped up from the couch, stating that I would go re-heat the food.

Glad to get away for a bit to calm down a bit before I have a heart attack.

Every time I'm around Myles it feels like I'm falling deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole of feelings I thought I left behind when I was fourteen.

"Need any help?" Myles asked making me jump in surprise.

When did he get here?

"Yeah, that would be great," I replied handing him over a couple of plates to layout on the dining table.

We worked around each other quietly as we set the dining table. Once, we were done I went back into the kitchen to see that the food was ready.

I made my way back into the living room with the food in my hands.

"Let me grab that for you," Myles said taking the tupperware from my hands before placing it onto the middle of the table.

"Thank you," I said giving him a small smile.

At the smell of food, Kyle made his way into the dining room a large grin making its way onto his face at the sight of food.

Taking our seats we immediately dug into the food as all of us were pretty hungry.

Dinner went by smoothly, conversations flowing easily around the table.

"I got that," Myles said grabbing my plate off the table.

"I can wash my own dish, you know," I said rising up from my seat to go help him out in the kitchen.

"I know that, but you're the guest," He replied as he scrubbed the dishes.

"Well, you'll wash and I'll dry," I said trying to compromise.

Seeing that I wasn't going to back down Myles nodded his head in agreement.

As we were washing the dishes Myles thought it would be funny to blow foam into my face from the soap.

"Oops," Myles said with a smirk on his face.

I stood there stupefied with foam on my face from Myles, who clearly thought that this situation was hilarious.

Dipping my hand into the sink I swiped some soap and placed it on Myles's face making his smirk fall off his face.

"Oops," I retorted a smirk now on my face.

"Oh, it's on!" Myles said with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

Before I knew it we were having a foam fight in his kitchen, which then became a water fight after we ran out of foam.

"Can we get ice cream?" Kyle said now standing at the entrance of the kitchen, our water fight coming to a screeching halt.

"Um sure buddy, let us just get changed," Myles replied making me look down at our attire to see that we were completely drenched.

"Yay!" Kyle said jumping with excitement before going back to the living room.

" I think I have some clothes you can borrow," Myles said drawing my attention back to him.

His eyes lingering on my wet form with amusement.

"Yeah, that would be great," I said, a small laugh slipping out as I was sure I look like a drenched rat.

Maneuvering out of the kitchen, we made our way upstairs, to Myles's room.

Entering his room, a small smile made its way onto my face.

It's exactly how I imagined it

Grey walls, the shade matching his eyes, the black and white sheets that laid crossed his bed, the black wood furniture in the room, and black curtains that covered the window blocking any light.

It was very Myles.

My eyes bounced around the room taking everything in before they settled on a picture on his dresser.

Moving across the room I picked up the photo.

The sound of Myles shuffling through his clothes fading in the background as I zoned in on the photo of Myles and I at my first ballet recital when I was eight.

I remember being so nervous that day because it would be my first time performing a solo.

Pacing back and forth backstage, I ran the routine in my head one last time before going on stage.

Blocking out the sound of girls laughing in excitement their white tutu dresses fluttering around.

"Are you okay Jesse," Lily asked, seeming to be the only one to notice my nervousness.

Lily was a sweet girl and the only girl who talked to me in our studio.

The other girls choosing to ignore my existence, but I didn't care.

I wasn't there to make friends but to dance.

Before I could answer Lily's question, Hannah answered for me.

"She probably knows she's gonna fall down and embarrass herself in front of everyone," Hannah said, a smirk gracing her face as the other girls around us laughed at her comment.

Clenching my fist, I restrained from knocking out her two front teeth, knowing if I did I wouldn't be able to perform tonight.

"Don't worry about Hannah, she's just jealous you got the solo and she didn't," Lily said once they left.

"Besides everyone knows your the best dancer here, you'll do great!" She said making me smile.

"Thanks, Lily," I replied before moving to a more secluded area to stretch.

Not wanting to stretch with the other girls, to avoid any more rude comments from Hannah.

"Jess," I heard someone whisper as I finished up my stretches.

I looked around for where the voice came until my eyes landed on Myles's figure by the entrance backstage.

"Myles, what are you doing here? You know you can't be here?" I whispered shouted, shocked to see him here.

"And when have I ever been one to follow rules," He said with a mischievous grin making me roll my eyes.

Though I was happy to see Myles, my nerves immediately calming down in his presence.

"Besides I had to wish my Twinkle Toes good luck! So good luck, you'll do amazing out there. You're the best dancer I know and now it's time to show everyone else how great you are!" Myles said with utmost confidence.

"Thank you," I said pulling Myles into a hug.

"Anytime," He whispered pulling me closer.

"Alright these should do, they are from freshmen year," Myles said breaking me out of my thoughts.

Placing the photo back down, I turned towards Myles.

Letting out a quick thank you, I grabbed the clothes in his hands before going in the direction he pointed out, which leads to the bathroom.

As I changed into his clothes, I notice that they were a bit big.

The black sweatshirt was perfectly oversized on me, though the gray joggers were a bit long.

I rolled up the ends of the sweats so that they would fit better.

Once I was done, I tied my hair into a high ponytail.

I hope he doesn't expect these back.

Because I'm keeping these.

I relished in the comfort and his scent that lingered on the clothes for a few more minutes before heading back out.

"Seriously," I said an amused smile making its way onto my face.

Walking back into the room I saw that Myles was also wearing a black hoodie with grey sweatpants.

"We're matching," He said pointing out the obvious, a grin on his face, clearly happy with this outcome.

"Dork," I mumbled underneath my breath, though I wore a grin on my face as well.

Walking out of the room I made my way down the steps, Myles following close behind.

"You look good in my clothes, by the way," Myles whispered in my ear, before brushing past me on the stairs.

I couldn't help but freeze in my spot, my stomach doing flips at his words.

"Are you okay Jess?" Kyle said from below looking up at me concerned, whereas Myles stood beside him, wearing a smug grin on his face.

"I'm okay," I said giving Kyle a small smile before shooting a glare in Myles's direction.

Once I made it down the stairs, Kyle gripped my hand pulling me out of the house, leaving Myles behind to lock at the door.

"Ice cream!!" Kyle yelled excitedly making me laugh at his enthusiasm.

___

"I'll pay," Myles said, his eyes narrowing down at me.

"No I'll pay," I replied back glaring at him.

We just finished ordering our ice cream and now Myles and I are arguing over who will pay.

Kyle simply ate his cotton candy ice cream oblivious to our argument, whereas the worker at the register seemed to be getting impatient with our bickering.

"Look, I'll pay, I was the one who invited you out anyway," Myle said clearly not backing down, but neither was I. I can be pretty stubborn when I want to.

But, before I can come up with a retort, Myles already handed that cashier his card.

"Fine, but I'm paying next time," I said with a huff.

"Sure," Myles replied slightly amused by the situation before grabbing my cookies and cream and his cookie dough ice cream off the counter.

Spotting a booth in the back by the windows, we made our way over.

We sat our ice cream down on the table first before taking our seats, Kyle seating in between us.

As we ate our ice cream there wasn't a moment where we weren't talking or laughing at something silly Kyle said.

Before I knew it we were done with our ice cream and were ready to go.

After I threw out my cup I noticed something on Myles's face.

"Oh, wait you got something here," I said to Myles pointing to the corner of my lip.

"Did I get it?" He asked, completely missing the spot making me laugh.

"No," I said letting out a small laugh.

"Let me," I said grabbing one of the leftover napkins.

Stepping closer to Myles, he tilted his head down, so that I'll have more access.

Dabbing the corner of his lip, I tried not to focus on how close we were to one another or his gaze that I can feel penetrating me.

"There," I whispered, though I made no effort to step back.

Catching his gaze I found myself stuck to my spot.

His eyes flickered down to my lips briefly, so quick that if I wasn't paying so close attention, I would've missed it.

Similarly, my eyes flickered to his lips, the urge to kiss him boiling from beneath me.

It seemed he caught me as well as his grey eyes darken, resembling that of a storm.

I don't know who started leaning in first, but before I knew it I felt his lips hover over mine, a centimeter apart.

Just as I was about to close the gap

"I'm tired," Kyle grumbled from behind me making Myles and I jump apart from each other.

It was then I was grateful for my dark complexion or I'm sure Myles would've seen how hot my face was.

Though he wasn't as lucky, his fair skin flushing red.

"Can we go home," Kyle said snapping my eyes in his direction, a small yawn releasing from his mouth.

"Yeah, bud, let's get you home," Myles said lifting Kyle into his arms.

A small smile made its way onto my face, as Kyle snuggled into Myles's arms.

"Ready?" Myles asked

I nodded my head not bothering to make eye contact with him, still trying to figure out what just happened.

More like what almost happened

The drive to my house was quiet, neither one of us bothering to make conversation as we seemed lost in thought, while Kyle was knocked out in the back.

"Thank you," I mumbled out as we stopped in front of my house.

I quickly unbuckled my seatbelt, wanting to escape the tension.

Just as I was about to open my door, Myles's hand gripped my own.

"Thanks for coming over today, I had a great time," He said with a small smile on his face.

"Me too," I said returning his smile.

No other words fell from our mouths.

We just sat in our seats our hands intertwined with one another.

Neither one of us wanting to bring up what happened earlier and I'm fine with that.

I just got Myles back in my life and despite my more than friendly feelings that are growing for him each day, I don't want to complicate things.

For now, I'm happy with where we are now.

"I should probably go inside," I said breaking the silence.

Nodding his head, Myles released my hand, a sense of yearning passing me to have his hand in mines once more.

Leaving the car, I sent a final wave to Myles before making my way up the front steps.

I heard his car drive away once my front door shut behind me.

"It looks like you've had a good night," My mother said startling me.

"Your home?" I said surprised to see my mother standing before me in her scrubs.

"Yeah, I finished my shift early. I was wondering if you wanted to have a girl's night and watch a movie like we used to." She said making a large grin appeared on my face.

It's been so long since I've hung out with my mom.

"Yes," I said immediately excited to get some quality time with her.

"Okay, I'll get the popcorn ready and you can set up the movie," She said returning my smile as I nodded in agreement.

"But, first tell when did you and Myles start hanging out again," She said with a smirk on her face.

This is gonna be a long night.
