Chapter 28 of 60

Ghoth

Poems 2165 words~1 min read

A man is a man is a moth

hardened by battle, body scarred

sweet on the inside, adorable fluff

hands bloody, eyes sharp, yet still radiating warmth

A man is a man is a moth

bigger on the outside, small in the centre

broken and ruined over and over, but still tender

deep down soft at heart, his image goth

A man is a man is a moth

hidden behind a mask and fear

a small child scared and hurt becomes clear

obscured, kept safe, draped in a dark cloth

A man is a man is a moth

drawn to a sunny smile as if a flame

perfect and bright, not at all the same

to protect his love he made an oath

A man is a man is a moth

shiny white skull, harbinger of death

the beginning, the end, but who steals his breath

if not the one who made his gentle side come forth

A man is a man is a moth
