Chapter 21: Chapter Twenty

My Sexy Protector [New Version!]Words: 16469

Tiffany's POV:

"Hello? Avs?" I say, walking up the stairs.

"Tiffany! I did it, I called him... well I did yesterday, I didn't have enough courage to call him when I told you about it, but I did yesterday and guess what I have a date tomorrow!"

Avery, I love you and everything but I don't really want to talk about her date. But I try to sound interested.

"Yay. That's soo good Avs. Do you know what you're going to wear?"

"You don't sound happy. What's wrong gurl? Did something happen?"

Spot on Avs. Spot on as usual.

"Too much happened, actually." I tell her honestly, plopping onto my bed once I closed the bedroom door.

"Want to talk about it? I'm not busy." She tells me, I smile just the slightest.

So as her best friend I fill her in on what happened, missing all details about the Elementaret and the people who nearly kidnapped me so they could kill me.

"He what?! Why the hell won't he let you come? I haven't seen you in weeks, the team needs you and your family is worried about you, especially your mom!"

"I'd love to tell you, but I can't. I can't tell anyone Avs. I want to, I want to tell you so bad right now, but I honestly can't."

"I guess I could understand, you are allowed to have secrets of your own without telling me-"

"Thanks Avery. I promise I'll tell you... one day."

"But..." Oh this isn't good. "you better give your freakin' boyfriend the phone before I find out where you are and bring you here myself!"

This Avery is not one you want to mess with.

"Avery, calm down okay. I'm working on it. I'll make sure I'm at that game even if I have to go against him and get back myself. I promise."

"So you're not going to give him the phone?"

Please don't kill me! I beg of you.

"Noo." I drawl.

"Tiffany. Give. Kyle. The. Phone." She pauses for long second before she finishes, "Now!"

"He- Avery." Then an idea comes to mind. "So how's Kale?"

"That's not going to work this time round. I'll tell you about Kale after you pass that asshole the phone."

"Sisters before misters." I mumble, not even sure if she heard me but soon enough I find myself yelling out my bedroom door for Kyle to come upstairs.

"Jeez, Tiffany. You didn't have to blow my ear drums out!" Avery exclaims through the other line.

"And you don't really need to talk to Conaway the jerk."

"Tiff-" Kyle starts gently when he gets up the stairs. This instantly puts a scowl on my face.

"Phone's for you." I mutter, shoving the phone in his chest and walking back into my room, closing the door behind me- more like slamming the door behind me, nearly breaking the hinges in the process. Making me think about how powerful I have actually gotten these last few weeks.

If he think's I'm that forgiving, then he better think again. I'm going back to my home town whether he likes it or not. I don't care if he's my boyfriend and that he's trying to keep me safe. I'm not letting him control me and tell me what to do. I have rights you know.

I plop back on my bed and stare up at the ceiling.

A knock on the door makes me turn my head, as it opens a crack. Kyle's head pops in as he looks for me.

"Uh, Tiff. Can I come in?" He asks gently, once he sees me on the bed.

"Uh." I mimic, "Can you?"

"I'm sorry." Kyle says meaningfully making me look at him. "I'm sorry for trying to protect you. I'm sorry that I just want you to be safe. It's just, they've found you. One of them has seen you use your powers. Do you really think they will stop now? They will just keep coming until you are dead and the power is theirs."

"They can't take what's not theirs." I whisper, looking back up at the ceiling. I feel the bed dip and a hand rest on my hand. "I forgive you. I over reacted. Again. Honestly what is wrong with me? It's like I have mood swings or something. One minute I'm happy next minute I'm-" I feel a set of soft lips touch mine, making me respond instantly, but soon enough he pulls back.

"What was that for?" I whisper to him in a daze.

"That was to shut up your annoying rambling." I turn my head to glare at him but he's just sitting there on the side of the bed looking amused, I shake my head at him once I figure out he's only kidding.

"You're a jerk. You know that?"

A low chuckle fills the room. "It's been a while since I heard that." He laughs. "But I'm your jerk."

I smile at the sound of that. "Well you better be."

"You can go to your game." Kyle whispers suddenly. I instantly smile at that. "I'll make sure everyone's there so you're protected. No one's going to kill you and I'll make sure of that."

"What changed your mind?" I ask him quietly.

"You. This game means a lot to you, and it'll be rude of me to be selfish about it." I press my lips to his gently before he pulls back making me think he doesn't want to kiss me, putting a frown on my lips. "So that means we have a lot of practice to do."

With that said his lips are back on mine, kissing me passionately. But a second later I pull back and look him in the eyes.

"A lot of practice with the Elementaret right? Not kissing?" I ask teasingly.

He narrows his eyes playfully before hovering over me on the bed, leaning his head forward whispering.

"No harm in practicing both."

"Self defence Tiff! You need to learn how to protect yourself without using your powers." Kyle grumbles.

I smile sheepishly, biting my lip lightly. "Sorry. I can't help it."

I may or may not have used my wind powers to defend myself against him. Making him get thrown on the ground a few times, six times exactly.

"Again. This time don't use your powers. And remember keep your fists in front of your face so you don't get hurt."

"What is this? Self defence or a boxing lesson?" I ask him with a small amused smirk.

Kyle groans at me annoying him, making me laugh a little. He looks up at me and gives me a small smile.

"Maybe we could give self defence a break for now. I could get Cal or-"

"I could help! Since I am the best at self defence." A familiar voice speaks from behind me and I turn and smile at her.

"As long as you don't break a nail." Kyle remarks making me laugh, and Skylar glare at the both of us.

"Hey! I thought I was your friend Tee! And Kyle, you'll get your payback later."

"And I'll gladly help on that. Whatever payback you are planning." I tell her with a small smile, "Since I am your friend." I quickly add on.

"Damn it! I swear girls are so annoying."

"Hey!" Me and Sky yell at the same time.

"Do you know who you're talking to?" Skylar finishes her remark. At the same time I say,

"I'm your girlfriend, you're not suppose to be a jerk to me."

"I'm your jerk, remember?" Kyle asks me, completely ignoring Skylar. "As I was saying before I got interrupted. I could get Cal, Tyler or Sky to help you with self defence... later. But I think you could do with some practice for your game in two weeks."

At that I instantly perk up. "We're going to play soccer? Really?"

Then something pops into my head. The soccer equipment that was by the door yesterday. So that's why it was there.

"I'll be back." Kyle says, then turns and jogs back to the house.

"Oh, he's soo whipped for you." Skylar sings and I turn and glare at her. "Oh, come on. As if you can't see it."

"It's been not even two days since we started dating." I all but point out.

"Yeah, true. But it is possible th-"

"What's she been saying about me?" Kyle all but yells from the back door with the netted bag slung across his back, and as he gets closer I notice he has a whistle hung around his neck, and a water bottle in his hand.

And he's definitely pulling off the sexy coach look right now.

"Oh, nothing much." I yell back.

"I'm just going to go." Skylar whispers before she runs off, "Good luck!"

Just then Kyle drops the bag on the ground and stares off in her direction.

"Somethings up with her." Kyle mutters.

I look at him and shrug. I haven't known her for that long, but something is slightly different about her.

"Alrighty coach. I'm going to start my laps now."

And with that said I take off in a sprint.

Walking inside the house I instantly smell the food being cooked from the kitchen and grin.

"Oh it's been a long time since I've smelt some amazing cooking Ty!" I sing entering the kitchen.

"Your favourite! Pizza sub sandwich." He replies and I grin, instantly dropping the soccer equipment and running up to the breakfast bar.

"Oh and that's exactly what I need right now." I tell him, grabbing the sandwich and taking a big bite out of it.

"Thanks for leaving me out there." Kyle grumbles as he takes a seat on the seat next to me. And I can't help but let out a giggle.

"No worries."

"What's going on?" Tyler asks us both. I turn my head the same time Kyle did, he gives me a small smile.

"Nothing." Kyle says like he's in a daze. "Tiff, want to go finish off our Devious Maids marathon. Three episodes to go."

"Until another one comes out on Sunday." I tell him and he instantly grins at that. "You don't mind if we take the food upstairs Ty, do you?"

"It's fine Little-T. But it feels like I haven't seen you in like forever."

"I know, we can hang out soon. I promise." I tell him with a grin, before taking a plate upstairs with Kyle not far behind.

A loud banging noise wakes me up, making me groan.

"Tiffany! Tiffany! Are you awake?"

Of course, idiot. I'm awake now since you woke me up.

"What do you want Cal?" I groan turning around, only to come face to face with Kyle.

I may have forgotten that he slept in here last night. And no we didn't do the deed, we were just talking and watching our newest favourite show Hart Of Dixie.

"Well, I have a plan to get Aaron and Skylar together."

"And this couldn't have waited until morning?" I ask him, turning back over my hand searching the side table for my phone.

"It is morning silly."

"Uhuh." I mutter, finding my phone and checking the time making me scream. "It's nine twenty five."

"I know."

"No. I mean I have work in five minutes. Oh crap oh crap oh crap!" I panic, getting up out of Kyle's grip and running to get clothes.

"You do know it's Sunday, right?" Cal asks me, making me look at him with a raised brow.

"Are you sure?" I ask him and he nods. "Oh thank goodness. I thought I was going to be late."

"Tiff, what's going on?" Kyle mumbles from beside me.

"Oh, nothing much. Just Cal annoying me." I say casually. "Okay, so what's the plan to get the two love birds together?"

We followed Sky... again. But this time it lead us to Aaron. They were secretly meeting up, as if that isn't strange.

"It looks like they don't need out help after all." Cal sighs.

But I shake my head. I don't think they are here for any love associated matters.

"Skylar, honestly don't you think we should tell them our new found information?" Aaron asks her in a whisper and I raise a brow.

"Tell Kyle and he will freak. It's his girlfriend after all. And you can't tell Cal or Ty either cause they will tell Kyle. Besides, we can handle this on our own, right?"

I look at the guys beside me, all hiding behind the bushes.

"What is h-"

"Shh."

Of course I get hushed.

"What was that?" Aaron asks looking behind Sky.

"I think someone's here." Sky whispers, suddenly getting in a defence position.

I look to the guys and Kyle shakes his head in annoyance and jumps out of the bush.

"It's just us." Kyle tells them.

I glare at him. If only they didn't blow our cover by hushing me, we could have found out what Sky and Aaron were talking about.

"Now, what's this about me freaking out?"

"Why did you follow me here?" She asks him, looking beyond pissed. "And who is us?"

"Well this is awkward." Cal says, jumping out next.

Leaving me. I slowly walk around the bush and smile sheepishly.

"Cal made us come here. Me and Kyle had planned something today, something other than this." I rush out.

"Hey!"

"Just shut up will you?" She says annoyed. "Now I would suggest you get your asses back home and pretend this didn't happen."

"You know I'm not doing that. Now tell me what the hell is going on?" Kyle demands.

Skylar looks at Aaron and then back to Kyle.

"You know, the other day when you also stalked me at the mall. Oh I knew about that, you do know who I am right?" She asks looking furious. "I wasn't there on a shopping trip, although I did buy a few things- but never mind that. I was there looking for someone. Someone who was looking for Tiffany."

Oh.

"And good cover up too by the way Tee. Your just lucky no one has killed you yet. Just be lucky we captured the guy that nearly kidnapped you. And told everyone that it was just a magic act. Which I highly doubt anyone believed."

"Wait. So you knew they were going to be at the mall?" I asked her and she raised a brow. "Why would they be at the mall?"

She raised a brow giving me a 'don't even ask' look.

"You captured him?" Kyle asks.

"Yes." Aaron tells him.

"Why were youse even following me in the first place?" She asks us.

Me and Kyle both look to Cal who is now looking at us.

"Hey! Don't look at me."

"It was your idea!" I exclaim.

"With a motive behind it!" He exclaims back, "I didn't even know anything about the organisation being in town."

"Okay, cut it out you two." Aaron snaps this time eyeing both me and Cal, making me instantly shut up. "Cal, I'll talk to you later. But right now, this needs to be dealt with."

"I have an idea, and Kyle you're just going to do as I say as of right now. Okay?" Skylar says with a demanding tone, making us all look at her, Kyle didn't even get to answer before she continued. "You have a soccer game in two weeks, right?" I nod, not knowing where she is going with this. "Great, so Kyle can take you home early. But you are to keep low key. You can't let anyone from the organisation find you."

So I'm going home. Oh this is amazing.

"Who said that's a great idea?" Kyle asks looking concerned.

"I did! God damn it." Sky mutters. "Aaron I need you to alert some of our members, make sure they are at Tiffany's home town ASAP. We need to make sure she is protected. And Tiffany, do not whatever you do use your powers."

"I can't promise that Skylar." I mumble quietly. But she heard me.

"Oh, but you need to do whatever I say right now if you don't want to be killed. That's the whole reason we didn't tell any of youse what's happening."

"Hey! Don't talk to her like that." Kyle tells her, making Sky give him a glare.

"Unless you want her dead, I'd say I'm doing my job."

This is why I'm only seeing this side of her this morning in the middle of nowhere. This is the side she only let's out when she's in work mode.

"I agree with her." Aaron speaks from beside Sky and she nods his way.

"I'm going to agree too." I tell them with a nod, "I don't want to die just yet." I mumble.

"Okay, that's settled. Kyle take Tee back to the house ASAP. Aaron, you make sure people are on the look out for anyone in their organisation. Cal, you can go back with Tee and Kyle- but you need to get the suppressing pills from Tyler, we need to make sure Tiffany doesn't use her powers whats so ever." She nods and then looks over at me, her eyes going soft before harding over again. She walks over to me and gives me a quick hug. "I'll make sure you are safe Tee. Everyone here is going to protect you. Hence why we are called The Protectors." She jokes lightly, making me smile slightly.

"Thanks Sky. I'll miss you." I tell her and she nods, before walking back over to Aaron.

"Everyone get going. But don't leave town until I make sure it's safe to leave."

"I didn't see the day I'd actually be leaving this place."

"Tiff, you do know you could come back whenever you want, right?" Kyle asks me and I nod, giving him a small smile. "And it's not like you're going alone. We'll all be with you. And I'll be with you at all times."

"Just because I'm going home, doesn't mean you'll be able to stay with me in my house. My parents would probably kill you for taking me without their consent." I laugh, thinking of my parents going off at Kyle. Although I haven't spoken to them for a while, and my father's probably still pissed at me for the last conversation we had.

"Uh Tiff, who said you'd be going back to your house?" I look at him with a raised brow. "You do realise we are going in hiding in your home town until it's safe, right?"

I just remembered these people who are looking for me, know where I live.

"Right." I tell him, looking back to the house before hopping into the car, buckling my seat belt up.

I should have known that. The good thing though, is that I'm going home.
