I never should have left her...

It was a mistake...

I should've told her to go to the library to read her manga but no..

Because of me.. my sister is gone..

Thoughts raced in my head as I stood in the hall shocked. Was my sister really gone? I tightened my grip as I held the phone. "¿Cómo sabes que ella no está en la casa?" I asked, slowly panicking. Mom had called me saying that Angie wasn't at the house.

"Edith, ella no esta aqui, estoy diciendo!!" Mom stated, adding, "Ve con tu Tia Lucy, ok?" She hung up as soon as I said ok. My last encounter with Angie was over twenty minutes ago.. before she was gone...

As I went down the hall, more and more thoughts came at me: What if she got lost? What if  she got kidnapped? What if she was... dead? I immediately shook my head as the last thought appeared, making me tear up.

「FLASHBACK: The sound of footsteps grew louder down the hall and I knew she was here as she came in. Sighing, I looked up at her as she hung her headphones around her neck, pausing her music. "Hey," she said, a warm smile on her. "Yo, I need to catch up on things, ok? Go to the house and I'll meet you there," I told her. She nodded, the smile slightly vanishing and reappearing again. "Uhh, sure. Later.."

"Yea, later."

But "Later" never came..」

As soon as I arrived to my Tia Lucy's house, my six year-old cousin, Lucas and his nine year-old brother, Carlos, were playing a Star Wars scene in the front yard. The moment they saw me, Lucas ran up to hug me. "Hey, Lucas." Returning his hug, I smiled sadly slightly messing his black hair and went in. My Tia Lucy was in the kitchen chopping carrots, talking with my mom. "Yea, she's here, apenas entrando aqui." Pause "Hi Tia,"

"Hey, your mom is on the phone and told me.." She replied, giving me a sad look. I simply nodded, looking away. Melanie, Lucas' and Carlos' thirteen year-old sister, appeared next to me, placing a hand on my shoulder. "Hey, Mel." "You ok?"

I shook my head, indicating a no. She lowered her eyes and hugged me. Tia Lucy was calling the kids to come inside to eat as a few tears fell.

By the time it was 5:25 pm, most of my family had heard. My Uncle Juan came over with Gloria and her brother, Zack, who was seven years older than her.

After everyone said their condolences to me, I went into the living room. Zack followed me, and I sat down in the living room, shaking.

Is my sister really gone?
