Chapter 13: 2.03 Androgyny + Cross Dressing

LGBT+ 101Words: 1100

So, what is androgyny? Look for the definition in 2.01. Cross dressing is also there.

Androgyny is a form of gender expression. Not a gender identity.

There is a difference between androgyny and cross dressing. When you're androgynous, you dress accordingly to your gender identity. When you're a cross-dresser, then you can express any gender through clothing, despite your identity. Here are some examples of androgyny:

"I'm genderfluid, so when I feel like a girl, I wear girly things, and when I feel masculine, I wear masculine things."

"Yesterday I wore a dress and pretty flats, but today I feel like wearing khaki shorts and a masculine t-shirt."

Here are some examples of cross dressing:

"I'm a cisgender female, but sometimes I dress up as a guy for fun."

"It's enjoyable to wear the color pink, which is considered a feminine color, even though I'm a cisgender boy."

Once again, this entry was short, but most of the following entries will be short, so get used to it. :) Please comment + vote + thanks for reading. Next entry is about the difference between transsexuals and transgenders.
