"Everything all right?" Killian looked up at me as I sat across from him on the seat.
"Lucy fell asleep." Which surprisingly didn't take long. I expected that she would not like it on the plane, but that is not the case.
"So now is the time for us to talk." He closed the laptop in front of him.
"About what?" I raised an eyebrow.
"About the future." Oh.
"I understand, you don't want Lucy in your house. But please, at least for a while. She would be in more danger in Luna's apartment. You have security...."
"What are you talking about?" He cut me off. "I have no problem with Lucy staying with me." He frowned. "I talked about plans with management."
"Oh." I was taken aback for a moment. "Well, now I have to contact a few people who will help me with their location. And then I'll go after them."
"That's not really a plan. You have one, right?"
"Yes, of course, but I don't want to discuss it now." Maybe because my plans have changed since Lucy is coming back with us.
"Okay." He took a paper out of his pocket and took a pen from the table in front of him. It looked like he crossed something out. I didn't have the chance to see what was on the paper.
"What is it?" I leaned slightly from the seat, but that didn't help either.
"You adopted a child. Not the same as a dog, but it's about as close as we'll get."
"I don't remember drinking anything, so unless you're talking nonsense, explain. I don't understand a word you said. What dog?" I reached for the paper in his hands but before I could grab it, he pulled it towards him.
"No. This is for my eyes only." He laughed and put the paper back in his pocket.
"Oh my god. Are these the things I told you when I was dying?" I didn't need him to answer. His face said it all. "You made a list? What the hell is there!" I jumped out of my seat and walked around the small table until I was standing next to him.
I reached for his pocket, but for some reason the whole plane moved and my hand ended up right on his crotch.
"That's not the list." Killian laughed. "Lyssa." There was a slight warning in his voice. Maybe it's because my hand is still on his crotch, which is either uncomfortable or he likes it too much.
"Yes, Killy?" I swallowed hard, but left my hand in place.
"Oh Lucy, you're already up." At his words, I immediately pulled my hand to myself and straightened up.
When I looked where Killian was looking a moment ago, no one was standing there. I heard his muffled laugh next to me.
"Idiot." I reached for him with my fist to hit him in the shoulder, but he caught my hand just before I touched him and pulled me onto the seat on his lap.
"You still like me." He grabbed my thigh and flipped my leg so that I was sitting cross-legged on him.
"And who told you that?" I snorted and crossed my arms over my breasts.
"You." He smiled.
"I may have said that in the past. But that doesn't mean it's still true now."
"Really?" His hands wandered to my hips. "So you're telling me that if I do this..." He lifted his pelvis, and I felt his erection. I swallowed a moan that almost came out of my mouth. "And I'll get to your panties, you won't be wet?" He had a winning smile on his face.
"That doesn't mean I like you." But if it means I like it when I'm wet, then I like him for sure.
"Do you really want to play this game again? Because I can. But if Lucy really wakes up, we're going to traumatize her." I tried to stand up, because after all, only he has a point. I have no plans to cause her further trauma. "But that doesn't mean you can't stay here." He stopped me.
"So you want to play with fire?" I laughed.
"Don't worry. I won't burn myself." He pulled me closer.
*****
"Wow." I heard Lucy from the backseat as we pulled up in front of Killian's villa.
I looked at Killian who was obviously holding back a smile and laughter.
I got out of the car and opened the back door so Lucy could get out. She was wearing a yellow dress with white dots that Killian had gotten her back in Atlanta.
I grabbed her by the waist and carefully placed her feet on the ground. She extended her hand to me and I took it with a smile.
"Are you a princess?" She said without looking at me. Her gaze was on the building in front of us, which must seem huge to her.
When I was about to answer her, Killian overtook me, standing next to her. "No, you are. She's a queen." He winked at her and started walking towards the door.
Lucy seemed slightly nervous as she looked at the security guard outside the door, but I just squeezed her hand gently to let her know I was here.
Killian opened the door for us and we entered.
It didn't take long before we heard Odin running towards us, which we probably should have told Lucy about because she quickly hid behind my legs.
"It's okay Lucy." I ran my hand through her hair. "He won't hurt you. Look." I bent down and called Odin to me, who slowly walked from Killian to us and I patted his head. "See? Now you."
She hesitated for a moment before she extended her hand to him, which he smelled and then licked. A laugh came out of her mouth and she walked over to get closer to him so that she could scratch him properly.
"What the..." I looked up at Luna, who was standing in the doorway to the living room. "That's a kid." She was looking at Lucy next to me in surprise.
"I'm glad you know what one looks like." I straightened up. "I'll explain later."
"No. Now." She crossed her arms over her breasts.
"All right." I rolled my eyes. "Lucy, are you hungry?" She nodded. "Killian, can you..."
"Let's go Lucy." He interrupted me and took Lucy's hand. Together they went to the living room and disappeared from my sight.
"So? Explain."
"We couldn't leave her in the orphanage. They didn't treat her well."
"And that gives you the right to take her? Eris, look, I get it..."
"You don't understand." I interrupted her. "You went through something no child should go through, let alone a five-year-old girl. She needs someone to understand her. I couldn't live with myself if I just left her there."
"And what if the management goes after her? Just because you care about her."
"I will protect her. No matter what it takes."
"There's no way I'm going to change your mind, is there?" She exhaled heavily.
"No." I simply answered.
"In that case, I'm going to talk to Killian. He didn't let me bring the flowers from my apartment, but you can bring a whole ass kid. Where's the fairness?" She snorted and turned on her heel, towards the living room.
I don't like how easy this conversation was. I expected her to argue with me.
"Luna?" I shouted after her and stopped in the doorway.
"Yes?" She turned to me as she entered the dining room.
"Would you mind if you called me Lyssa?" I tried to smile.
"Why should it?" She smiled. "Killian calls you that already." She winked at me and went out the door.
I can lie and say that having Lucy in my house is bad. But why would I do that?
It's good that she's here.
She brought something new, but at the same time old. I remember my siblings when they were little. It brings back a lot of memories. Good memories.
She is a sweet child. Innocent. The world we live in has not yet corrupted her. This time I'll make sure it stays that way.
I don't know what Lyssa's plans are for her, but I hope they include me.
I'm not saying I want to be her father. Not that. But I wouldn't mind being in her life. At least for a while.
"I was thinking we could go buy some things." Lyssa entered the dining room. "Mainly clothes. Would you mind if I took some of your security with us? Just to be sure." She sat down next to Lucy who was eating pasta.
"Of course. No problem. And if you don't mind, I'll join you." I leaned back in my chair and looked at Lucy across from me.
"Don't you have any responsibilities? We've been gone for almost two whole days."
"They can manage without me for a few more hours." I shrugged. "So? Can I join?"
"Yes!" Lucy exclaimed with a smile.
"Then it's decided. I'll be waiting in the car in ten minutes." I winked at Lucy and stood up. I left the dining room and headed to the study.
I walked in and found Kai in my seat with his cell phone to his ear. He held up a finger to tell me to wait while he finished something else.
I leaned against the doorframe and waited carefully for him to hang up. "Someone here is busy. I laughed.
"I am so you don't have to be. Welcome back." He got up from his chair and walked over to me. He hugged me tightly, which surprised me slightly, but I didn't pull away.
"Any problems while I was gone that I should know about?" We pulled away.
"Not really." He shrugged. "The usual. Did you come to replace me?"
"Not yet. I need to go into town."
"What for?" He frowned.
"Me and Lyssa are taking Lucy shopping."
"That's awesome Killian. Who the hell is Lucy and Lyssa?" He laughed.
"Lyssa is Eris." I laughed. "And Lucy...that's a long story I'll tell you later. Where are the others?"
"Seb went to see someone named Sarah and Finn got really drunk yesterday so he's sleeping."
"Is he fine?" I've noticed he's been worse lately. I don't know what's going on with him and he doesn't want to tell me. I want him to come on his own. I don't want to force him into anything.
"He will. Don't worry." He grabbed my shoulder. "Go enjoy the day with...Lyssa and Lucy. I don't know where you get all these women." He laughed.
"If anything happens, call me." I said goodbye to him and left the study, heading for the exit. On the way, I wrote to the head of security, Mattias, that I was taking four guys with me.

I enjoyed watching Lyssa and Lucy as they shopped. It was something I didn't know I needed.
They've bought way too many clothes that she'll grow out of before she tries them all on. Shoes, dresses, t-shirts, pants and anything they could find. We bought everything that Lucy liked.
Maybe we shouldn't spoil her, but she hasn't experienced it yet. She deserves it. Like any child.
We left everything in the car while we stopped at the Bistro.
I can't even remember the last time I was in a Bistro. When I went out for dinners or lunches, they were always expensive restaurants that also charged for the air I breathed.
It was a nice change. The smell of different food, comfortable seats, the overall appearance of the interior basically.
We sat in the back of the bistro in the only seats that were not occupied and began to read the menu.
When we had chosen, we put them back on the table and waited until the server came to us.
"Have you picked yet?" A black-haired waitress stopped by with a smile.
"One chicken strip burger, chicken sandwich and two raspberry lemonade." Lyssa said.
"And for you?" She turned to me.
"Cheeseburger with fries and also raspberry lemonade."
"I'll be back with your orders." She smiled at us one more time before turning and walking away.
"So Lucy, how do you like New York?" I looked at her.
"It's nice here." She smiled. "There are many people here."
"It's a big city." Lyssa said. "I'd say that's enough for today. We'll go back after we've eaten, okay?" Lucy nodded quickly.
We chatted until the waitress came over with our food on a tray.
"A chicken sandwich?" She asked and Lucy raised her hand as if she was at school. "Here you are sweetie." She laughed and placed the plate in front of her. "And this has to be for mom," she placed another plate in front of Lyssa, "and for dad." She pushed the plate towards me.
"No." Lyssa and I said at the same time. "We are not together." She pointed between the two of us.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I just thought you were..." She didn't finish her thought. "Never mind." She smiled nervously and left our table.
"So that was..."
"Embarrassing?" Lyssa interrupted me. "Let's eat."
I don't even know where all the food went. One moment we had full plates, and the next everything was gone.
When the waitress noticed us, she came over with the bill in hand, which I paid before Lyssa reached for it.
"I hope you enjoyed it." The waitress smiled at me and handed me the bill. "Have a nice day." As she left, I ran my eyes over the bill, just out of habit, and found a number written at the top.
I laughed, causing Lyssa to look up at me. "What's so funny?" She frowned.
I handed her the bill without a word. She visibly clenched her jaw when she noticed the number.
"She's young enough to be your daughter." She snorted and threw the bill on the table towards me.
"Are you jealous?" I tried not to smile.
"On her? Not even in my dreams. Let's go, Lucy." She stood up and I was with her. I stood in front of her and pulled her hand closer to me so I could whisper in her ear.
"Spend tonight with me and I'll prove to you that you have nothing to be jealous of." I brushed my lips against her ear.
She cleared her throat before saying anything. "Let's go." She took Lucy's hand and they started walking out of the bistro.
I took one last look at the table where the bill was and laughed.
A nice way to end today's trip.

I get that a lot of people doesn't like kids in stories and if you're one of them, just wait for the next book, there won't be one. (His temptation)
Hope you enjoyed. <3
