Laverna Reine P.O.V
âHow is this possible?â He questions himself before a thought crossed his mind.
âVampire.â He huffed, chuckling sarcastically before shaking his head.
âOf course.â He continues.
âThe perfect set up.â He says.
âWith all, youâd played me well while I fell in love with you. What a clown I was.â He stated.
âI never meant to hurt you.â I tried.
He put his hand up motioning for me to stop speaking.
âDonât.â He stops.
âMy father is dead, isnât he?â He then asks, looking away from me.
I kept my lips sealed.
âHe shot himself.â I told.
âIâm officially an orphan now.â He started.
âLucifer betrayed me, Kyle was murdered, my father shot himself, and now I see my dead wife come back alive as a vampire. So why did you come here for? To pity me?â He scoffed.
âNo.â I answered.
âI came to mend my mistakes.â I spoke, nearing him.
âGet away from me.â He gritted with clenched teeth.
âI loved you. Half of why I even sought revenge on the wolves was for you.â He confronted.
âCome with me.â I suggested.
âI would rather be dead than be an abomination in this world.â He said.
âWhat would you have to lose?â I asked.
âMy dignity.â He answered.
I sighed sitting on the bed beside him.
âWe can be happy again.â I told.
âYou donât look a day older than 33, I, on the other hand, am 56 years old.â He huffed.
âWhat are you doing here, mom?â I heard Lorraineâs voice from the back.
âAnd why are you with a hunter at that?â She questions.
âYou need to leave.â I stood up from the bed.
âNo, what is happening here?â She asks.
âMom?â Theo inquires looking between the both of us.
âWho is her father then? Or did you play him too?â He asks sarcastically.
âEnough.â I said.
âMaybe it was a mistake to have come here.â I looked at Theo.
âLetâs leave.â I directed Lorraine.
âDonât hate me for your truth.â Theo then mutters under his breath from behind me.

I felt my thirst for blood start peaking towards the edge as I tried to regulate my breathing.
I went over to the mini-fridge in our room where Lorraine stocked up the blood bags, before taking one out and drinking it.
When I turned slightly, I came to face with Valentineâs surprised expression as she seemed perplexed to why I was drinking blood.
âYou never really told me what happened to you.â She then spoke.
âWhere are the babies?â I asked instead, before throwing the bag in the trash can, while her eyes followed my movements.
âTheyâre with my mom. I came to check up on you and ââ She motioned towards my whole frame, pointing out my actions just seconds ago.
âIâm a hybrid.â I sighed.
Her eyes widen. âWhat-how?â She then inquires.
âMy mom, she was actually a vampire. The one that saved you from Achilles back at the huntersâ realm.â I explained.
âAnd the two other vampire girls?â She pointed.
âHalf-sisters.â I answered.
âWhen did you even plan on telling me any of this?â She questions furrowing her eyebrows.
âI was going to tell you today myself but you caught me.â I spoke.
Valentine sighed before nearing towards my frame.
âSo is blood the only thing you can consume now?â She then questions.
âNo.â I shook my head.
âI can still taste normal meals, itâs just that the craving starts from time to time.â I said.
I was going to kiss her lips, but she backed away a little scrunching up her face.
âI can smell the blood, Iâm sorry.â She says, feeling slightly guilty for doing so.
âItâs alright.â I gave her a small smile.
âThereâs one more thing.â She then says and I looked at her to go on.
âUsually when a wolf turns 21, they will have to challenge the alpha to lead the pack.â She started.
âIn a few months, you are about to turn 20, which means in a natural manner you would have a year more to fight for the throne. However, since you now have two descendants of your own, on your birthday you would have to challenge the alpha, my dad.â She explained.
âSo basically, I have 8 months to prepare, that shouldnât be so hard.â I stated.
She shook her head.
âIt usually takes 3 to 4 years of training to win over an alpha.â She detailed.
âEven an old one like your dad?â I questioned.
âYou havenât met his wolf, Norwich. He defeated my grandfather within 10 minutes.â She then told.
âLetâs then beat the record now, shall we?â I smirked.
âYouâre overconfident.â She states, sighing.
I shrugged. âNow, whatâs next?â
âThe funeral preparations for the wolves that have sacrificed their lives to save me.â Valentine speaks frowning.
